Xperia Play Download Problem

i recently purchased my girlfriend an xperia play off ebay, works fine, but it refuses to install some apps like angry birds (comes up with message Download was unsuccessful please try again, yet it lets her install others like asphalt...i was just wondering why this would be?

p.s we have only tried downloading on her roaming internet and not yet a proper wifi connection
