What in the world is going on with this app? It's off the market. (again)
i think it got tagged as malwear or something but mine is working fine
Mine worked fine as well. you can still get it here if you need it.
Heh. They're always doing that. That's why I have the apk saved to my PC and sd card.
Hmmm.... I show a newer version here: Download z4root 1.3.0 for Android Free - z4root will root your device and enable you to supply system level access to applications that request it. - Softpedia
Well I do have a backup..card, PC, and dropbox. I saw something about this app coming back as being fake on the DX...and then it got pulled again.
A post in some forum stated that if you installed the reinstated version that you should remove it at once!...smells like VZ behind that post...or just some nut trying to stir things up..*shrug*...I don't know. My z4 is working fine.
I'm already rooted, but I restored an old backup and found z4root wasn't installed so installed 1.1, but it didn't tell me I was already rooted so found a newer version on that link I posted and it did work.
1.3.0 is the lates iteration of the app. I got it on automatic update from teh market before it was pulled, perhaps. It's the one I have.
i think google keeps removing it because of false reports of it being malware. i downloaded v 1.3.0 yesterday and it worked perfectly!
Taken from the Android Market Developer Distribution Agreement. This is why apps that require root access are allowed, but not apps that actually root the devices.
I downloaded the z4root apk file, can someone please tell me how I install it?
Go into your memory card and under downloads install it from there.
Yes. Please simply click onto the file and select install and you're golden! Let us know if you have more questions.
You may have to give permission to install it first. On your home screen go into settings -> applications and check the unknown application box. THen you can install the z4root app
seeing as how a law was passed stating that it is officially LEGAL to root/jailbreak your phone, seems silly to have such an agreement.
Just because they can't take legal actions against people doing it, doesn't mean they have to support it
