I am not an expert, but I believe that is just the radio flash, not the whole ROM... Choose the download further down (or wait for the newest one coming soon) and flash that Zip file to the phone...
So far so good, should be up in about an hour version 3.3b
That did the trick thank you!
2 Questions if you have the time... 1, what was wrong? (curiosity) and 2, Why is it that wired tethering doesn't seem to ever work on these phones? Is that due to VZ's tampering?
1, just needed to do some restoring of some files and not add the newest tethering apk and files when adding the wireless tether option. It works if u update the app manually through market.
2. How r u trying to wire thether? I use pdanet and its good. I don't use and Verizon tethering services.

a few quick noob questions. thanks in advance:
- if i flash the 3.3B, do I also need to flash radios? i've never had any problem with data or calls.
- so this will not wipe my phone, and i won't have to reinstall all my apps and settings? i currently have stock/root (2.3.4, 2.11.605.5). so this means after flashing, my phone will look just like it currently does, with a lot of tweaks under the hood (no more OTAs, no more blockbuster or VZ apps, perhaps better battery, etc)?
i'm ashamed to say i've been denying OTAs pretty much every day since rooting in december and i'm finally trying to take the steps necessary to prevent them, lol. i'm just a little nervous, but i see the quickboot instructions on your other site (htcthunderbolt4g)

You don't have to flash the radios but these newest radios seem to work real well and contribute a little bit to better battery life.
The roms wont erase or delete anything they will just overwrite existing system files.
The phone will look exactly like it does now but with tweaks, better battery and none of the added verizon apps & such
Flash rom in recovery & radios in hboot (remember to rename the radio zip)

I had tried every app I could find to do a wired tether, but there aren't any that seem to work for me... (I honestly never tried pdanet, as they don't support linux on the pc end) I always expected the tether to either show up as a network card or a modem on the PC... figured with 4GLTE it would be much faster than wifi.

install went very smoothly. been using it a couple days. thanks so much! here are my observations.
1. so happy to no longer see Blockbuster in my app list!
2. so happy to not get OTA reboots
3. haven't seen any battery improvement, but that's okay.
4. the boot sound scared the bejeezuz out of me - i had turned it off before, and forgot about it. i'll just turn it off again.
5. the only abnormal behavior i see so far is that when cerberus takes a photo (on command, or after wrong lock code entered) the screen goes black for a second. that kind of defeats the purpose of stealth photo taking. that never happened before. i uninstalled and reinstalled cerberus, no luck. any idea if this could be a ROM issue? [edit: seems to be a "feature" of the new cerberus version]

The radio gets flashed in hboot, not recovery and it has to be on the root of the sd card, not in a folder. To get to hboot, hold power and volume down buttons together until it boots to a white screen. After a few seconds, the phone will look for the zip file.
As for flashing, the rom, if you are on a,custom rom not a,stock rooted rom, yes i would wipe everything. If u are stock rooted, the just flash it.
I bought a second hand thunderbolt that is already rooted with the revolutionary method. I've installed root only apps just fine. The hboot? is a year old since it was rooted immediately after the seller purchased the phone. Is there any sense in upgrading to the latest root files? How do I update the files? I have clockworkmod recovery and have installed a couple of apps with it and made backups, so know a little. Is it just a case of downloading a zip and installing with clockwork? Thanks.
Only updates I've flashed have been yours, so it's not an issue of something else interfering. Yes, I installed 3.3B. Just to be sure, I just wiped the cache files in case I missed it and reinstalled, but am getting the same issue. (Basically, it just hangs on the "connecting..." message on the devices I've tried to connect to the tether.)
Everything else seems to work fine with this update, just the tethering issue.
First off, Thank you JRocker23 for your time, effort, and hard work that is making all of our lives easier. I flashed the 3.3B Rom and the new radios and everything works fine, no more annoying 50 times a day OTA notification either lol!!
I did have a question though regarding my Wifi... It has nothing to do with your ROM, my phone was doing this after I stock rooted a few months ago.
My Wifi does not scan for/pick up other networks, nor am I able to use my hotspot feature, which I am assuming having these two problems go hand in hand. Is there anything I can do to remedy this? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!!
I didnt really use the Wifi and Hotspot much prior to rooting either, I know it worked back in december, but I am not sure if it stopped working prior to me rooting or not. Thanks!!

My roms are made not to wipe anything....
Quick question about flashing the radios; I'm running Thundershed 1.5 with imo lean 6.1, I have the PG05IMG file on the sd card root, followed the hboot, got the update, up vol, updated ok, reboot. When I switch my 3G to 4G, my LTE options have been replaced with GSM. Basebands are; 1.49.00.0406_w1 & 0.01.79.0331w_1 I can't select GSM/CDMA auto(PRL) but I can select 'EvDO only' and am currently in CDMA auto(PRL)... any advice? IF nothing is wrong and I have to manually switch to 4G, no prob. Just a little spooked by LTE being replaced with GSM. Much appreciation!

It sounds like this is more of a kernal problem then radios. Most custom kernals dont work well with the latest leak ...

Thank you Jrocker. I used 3.3 rom and worked great. I was using Open Garden without a problem, in fact the only wifi tether that would work. Then, I updated radio from 1.48 to 1.49 and no longer could get any wifi tether program to assign ip address (kept getting dns error) until I checked the box.
Ur welcome, I have been testing different versions of my rom due to some having tethering issues and the only real thing I find is if you use wifi tether & dont pick the right phone profile and also check router fix, the app wont work...

I did some further research after your reco and it looks like I have to go through settings, wireless networks, mobile networks, network mode. Then you are given a dozen or so options. The GSM is for different brands of phones. So there may not be a problem at all. I'm not seeing a lot about the newest radio combo, so I presumed it was the radios. Thanks for your input!

Message Storage Settings
Everything still works great except one minor issue. Under message storage settings, I had clicked the box to delete old message (400/50 per SMS/MMS conversation). Before root, this setting worked great. I tend to send/receive 2500 text/month and found this option one day when I had a couple threads over 4000, causing a really slow load. Currently, I have some at around 500, 900, and 1200. They still open fine for now, but I am concerned that I will reach a point where the load will slow. Is there some way to enable this feature without having to buy an app like Message Cleanup?

Where is this setting? is it the built in message app or a third party app? Root shouldn't have affected it but its always possible..

Built in message app (not third party). From the <All messages> screen, hit <Menu><Settings><General>.
About halfway down the <Recipient list settings> page, there is <Storage Settings> subheading with an option to delete old messages. Below that is individual limit options for text and multimedia message limit.
I rooted and installed debloated 3.3B. Before this, I had set at 500 and no individual threat would go over this amount. I had to setup again, but this time, the storage setting does not seem to throttle the upper limit on individual message conversation threads.
I just checked under the message settings of the built in app, i saved the messages i needed and then set the limit to 10 each(text/mms) and it seemed to work fine.

Alright, so I guess my issue is unique to my phone. I will keep looking around to see if there is another way to edit. Only thing I found so far was some limit some phones have on the number of texts sent per hour before they get a popup message.
The free app (Delete old messages) only allows me to set time period, not quantity, criteria for purging messages.

I lowered from 500 to 400 and 300. None of these number seemed to make a difference. Unfortunately, my message backup app has limited restoration (number and only SMS), so I did not want to any of the value you suggested. The settings worked fine at the higher values before. It would not immediately purge, but take effect once I received or sent a text message in a thread above the newly set threshold. Luckily, I have some time to find a solution before I reach limits that will actually slow load.
Just want you guys & gals to know, I didnt forget you. Im working on an update but when one thing is fixed, another breaks. The 2 areas some have had issues with are tethering & airplane mode.
Im also looking into the message issue that was mentioned but dont see any issues yet...
I have just been real busy with work, multiple kid graduations and proms & daily life

I have tried both versions of this rom and updated the radios through HBOOT. It seems like I am no longer getting 3g or 4g coverage in areas that I normally do. I seem to only have 4g when I first turn the phone on. Any Ideas?

My problem is outlined below... Can I just use adb to push this rom to the phone and then install it through bootloader? Will that trick the update into thinking it was done already?
Ahhhh. So, I am kind of a noob, and by kind of, I mean I can root and unroot and don't have much trouble but if stuff messes up, I'm here.... and so I am here.
My phone downloaded the most recent verizon update that came out this month? (or in the last couple) for thunderbolt. Now it runs automatically and screws the phone up. Does anyone know where I can find the file so I can delete it. I have about 20 seconds once the homescreen pops up before it powers down and I haven't been able to get into root explorer fast enough to even start to look for the file.
Im rooted through revolutionary. I tried to reflash the previous PG05IMG file; however, it still rebooted and I'm pretty sure I got rid of the radio file that made my phone work. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I'm not sure this is the solution; d/l OTABlock zip, place on sd root. The 'I'm not sure part' is this; I don't remember if this needs to be flashed/installed or if just having it on the sd root is enough. I'm old, and I've slept since then. Maybe someone can confirm or deny what to do with the OTAblock file.
I'm not sure if anyone has brought this up yet, but in addition to the tethering issue (I can't connect with Barnacle and Wifi Tether gives me a ridiculously slow connection), my Shazam app no longer works. It keeps saying that it can't establish a connection.
I have tested out the shazam app. I installed the free version and I have the encore version and have no issues. The logcat showed no issues either. Are you sure the app is up to date?
Just checked back on this and saw the settings changes in the OP. Tried that, and it's now working. OpenGarden still doesn't work, but at least one app does.
