I updated the Rom to 3.4. So far working great. I use WiFi Tether for Root Users 3.2-pre1 and it's been working fine as well.

Default Still getting errors with WiFi Tether

I just flashed GBR 3.4 and I'm still having errors with WiFi Tether. I've tried 3.2 pre-1, 3.1 BETA14, and an experimental version. Seems to be the same errors I had prior to updating to GBR 3.4.

Only thing I can suggest if you want to, Do a full wipe. Back up everything you need then just do a factory reset of your phone....

Default Facebook sync

Only thing I am having trouble with is syncing with Facebook. I like being able to use names and pictures for contacts and they seem to come and go.

JRocker,

I get the following pop-up error quite frequently:

"The application Google services Framework(process com.google.process.gapps) has stopped unexpectedly."

And my gmail accounts usually stop syncing after this happens.

How can I fix this?

When i go to CWM in Recovery I wipe the Dav cache and then go to

'install zip from sdcard' -> 'choose zip from sdcard' and pick the GBR_3.4.zip file

It then hangs at 'Installing update...' step for a few minutes and then says 'Install from sdcard complete.', but it does not install ICS. Any help?

I did not wipe my phone, just dav cache.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Yes. As soon as an ruu comes out, I will make one.

The current leak isn't 100% stable (mostly WiFi/Bluetooth issues) and it's also bamf's version... So I haven't touched it..

This update fixed my GPS problem. The location had been showing as 1 - 2 miles off from actual. I installed the new radio but it did not help. In fact with out Verizon tower and Google assistance it didn't show my location at all. GPS fix and GPS Status could not get a fix and downloading my location didn't help.

Installing Ginger_BreadRock_V3.2_2.11.605.19 (bloated version) fixed it so now the first time I opened Google maps it quickly said accurate to 6 meters and it seemed to be correct.

Thanks!

Notsure New to Rooting and trying not to lose all my music

I have never posted a comment/question, but have used these forums for a while now. I am new to rooting even though I have had my HTC Thunderbolt for almost 2 years. I just received a new phone through my warranty and decided now is the time to see what I can really do with this phone.

I have a limited knowledge on rooting. My SD card (32gb) has been filling up over the year and a half of downloading apps, pics, music, ect. I would love to completely restore the SD card to factory setting in order to clean out the SD card (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF MY MUSIC) and then root the brand new phone I got in the mail. This way, I would have a clean and clear SD Card that contains only my music and put that into the brand new phone. Is this possible?

I am not new to the phone, just the world of rooting, and my main concern is losing any of my music collection I have made with this phone for the past year and a half. Can someone please point me in the right direction for this? I have no idea how to root it or what program to use.

I appreciate any help

Default Confused...

Now I am not TOTALLY new to this whole rooting thing, but the TB is much more complicated than my LG Ally was.

I have no cluee what the UU thing you guys are talking about or what you mean by ROMs and OTA. I did the All In One tool and did everything step by step, but once I had loaded the phone back up it was not rooted, only all my stuff gone. Like it rooted but didn't take or something. I tried using apps for root users but those said it wasn't rooted. I've tried doing the same thing over but the command console just says "Updating..." and keeps replacing the .bat file over and over. I'm going insane without wifi, this USB tether sucks... Please help?!

Why are you using 4shared? Mediafire doesn't throttle download speeds.

Queen B - I know the app you used but I have not used it personally. When you look at your apps after the process is complete, does it havd busy box or superuser apps installed?

If not, install both of them from the market (free version is fine) and then see if it says you have root. If they install, also download root checker and see what it says...

Flarn - to answer your question, I was given a lot of storage to use it, I have no upload limit interms of size (at least for what I need it for) and i get a lot of what media fire offers for no charge so I went with it..

Default Error

I've done this a million times. From your first ROM. Now after trying to do 3.4, my phone won't go past 'process.com.htc.bg has stopped unexpectedly.' All I can do from there is restart, but it comes back to that notfication. Help. anyone..

I'm working on a rom now. There have been some minor issues but getting there.. I will have it up as soon as can.

Sotty, I haven't forgotten you. I will upload the Rom. It seems to be a mix of gingerbread and ics. Also it's rooted. I deleted the stock one by accident & only have rooted right now

I'm hoping this new radio will cure the constant problem of my data connection dropping. It bounces up and down all the time and has since the last update, and I've been forced to suck it up and just deal with it, unable to find a fix. When this happens, both LTE and EVDO connections drop. Extremely annoying!

This is one of the things that worried me most about rooting for the first time last month. I am now being forced to update by my phone (Thunderbolt). I feel stuck. I have read and read and begging for help now. I can't use my phone b/c after 2-3 minutes it automatically shuts off and tries to update. I guess the root blocks the update by changing the box to an ( ! ) point inside a triangle. I tried going to boot screen to clear cache, but every time I press "recovery" it just moves me to the update screen again. So being very new and green at this can someone please help me get to the point where I can at least for now use my phone. Then I would love to flash the new rom for the update. I am taking advise from you on where and how to do the new update. I used the Revolutionary root. Thanks so much!!!

Even after renaming the OTACerts.zip file, the update still tried to download. It may not have tried to install, but the continual downloading was annoying. A little googling suggested freezing the Updater program (also Upgrade Setup, but I don't know if that has any effect). I use System Tuner to freeze because you don't need a premium version like TiBu. No more downloading...

I think I'm still missing something. 'certs is renamed (dotacerts.bak) and Updater 2.3.000.360778.605 is frozen...but updates still try to DL and install.

Have you tried clearing caches? I saw that somewhere here, I think.

So, I've frozen this, and we'll see if the update tries to run again. I'll just keep freezing til the phone stops working.

That was already frozen on my phone, but didn't stop the phone from trying to download the updated again yesterday.

Yeah...I tried that...

It sat there on the "working" screen saying that it was freezing it for an hour and then at some point my phone rebooted. Now when I go into Tibu, I can't change anything - it says "Waring - System configuration. Your system settings may cause problems. To correct this, go to your phone's Settings, then in "Applications" then in "Development" and tick the "USB debugging" checkbox."

EDIT: Oops - meant to quote the post with "com.smithmicro.DM" in it. Rebooted phone again and was able to get back in. It's frozen, but the phone itself is running sluggish.
