Default Stock CM7 web browser will not play youtube videos.

When I try to use the stock web browser in CM7 to watch YouTube videos that are embedded into websites, they do not play. The video progress will move like normal, but the screen will be black... Does anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks!

This should fix it.

Using Root Explorer, navigate to data/data/whatever browser you use/appplugins/com.adobeflashplater/.macromedia/Flash_Player.
Long press on config.data, tap permissions, remove all check marks, hit Ok. Make sure the browser isn't running in the background.

Could you explain what this does? To me, it looks like it would remove read, write, and execute permissions for the owner; leaving noone with permissions to that folder. Would the plugin even work at that point?

I was skeptical too but after removing the permissions, it works. Go figure.

I just tried it and it worked! I don't understand that at all, but if someone could explain it to me, I would greatly appreciate it!

I honestly have no idea. Someone on XDA told me about it.

Default Another fix

I tried Blacklight's fix but even after purchasing Root Explorer couldn't find the config.data file. Search didn't find various options I tried either.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Flash. ... Sound AND video.

I'm on a HTC Desire HD running CM7.1

The problem has reoccurred on my phone, and I can't seem to fix it. It only seemed to work temporarily; but if anyone knows a permanent fix, I would appreciate it!
