Default Useless since ICS

Hi everyone, long time lurker, first time poster. Hope you can help. Don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but since the ICS upgrade this once nice tablet has turned to junk. Apps stop responding, browser window randomly closes (especially when I try to type), serious lag and random screen freezes. I sometimes have to pull the battery to get the screen to start responding again, will not power off. I broke down and did a factory reset and even with no apps installed I experience the same issues. The ICS upgrade on my Razr Maxx went flawlessly but it's trashed my Thrive. Any suggestions short of having to root?

Just root it, man. Unless you want to spend time with phone support and have them troubleshoot it for you, which is usually more tedious than just rooting.

Only problem is he upgraded to ICS and there is no root available if he already took the OTA update to ICS. You can try and go to Toshiba Thrive forums and see if you can go back to HC. There is a dev who might be able to help but I cannot promise anything.

Update on my issues. Just got off the phone with Toshiba support. Basically told not their problem but for $120 they can give me an estimate to repair. So through no fault of my own the tablet is trashed. Thanks Toshiba.

Wanted to post an update on my situation. Got in touch with Dalepl, the man is amazing. He rolled me back to HC. I then rooted and installed the stock ics. For whatever reason, the ics was still a little glitchy. I took a chance and flashed CM10. WOW, the Thrive has come to life. Absolutely no issues that I had with ics. if you're considering going to JB, go for it. I can say I love my Thrive again!
