Default [OLD] (Boost) Update 2.3.6 with root
This its my stock buckup update 2.3.6 with superuser apk. ...flashed with CWM
1 download.. Unzip the file in to /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup
2 reboot into CWM
3 backup your phone
4 after backup wipedata/factory reset yes delete all....wipe cache partition....wipe dalvik cache...fix permision
5 backup and restore
6 restore 2012-05-15.18.32.04
7 wait for the scrip to finish
8 reboot phone

of course I flahed and reflashed 10x before posting ... Yes I do have cwm and root too

did you have to uninstall cwm and all that stuff like other posts were saying? or can i just use the cwm i have now?

You dont need to uninstall anythink ..just flash it with CWM (Clockworkmod)... Do not use stock recovery cuz dosent work

Tried to use this, but WiFi is broken. Market had problems, but I just installed the market.apk i had on my SD and that fixed it.

just finished as well,

Have to say screen issue not fixed on mine.
Android does say 2.3.6 and Build is FC29 but Baseband stayed EG29.
No CarrierIQ detected. Sweet it is removed.

I Have also noticed Signal is a little better and stays higher.
Root works.

Well everything else is correct, I have all the new wallpapers, I have no CarrierIQ, its 2.3.6 and Build is FC29, but I still have the screen issue

Maybe CWM doesn't backup the baseband?

I've already installed the OTA update. I had root (which i have lost). Is there anyway to regain root or safely reverse the update?

ok quick question but i think i know the answer already but i shall ask anyways.Ok i am currently running shevron rom with bobz kernel, & chev hasnt released a new version for this 2.3.6 update,so if i flash this will it fug with anything or should i flash a stock rom 1st, and then ur link?

OK, I've followed the directions and downloaded and restored the latest version. It says Gingerbread build FC29 but Baseband version EG29. Is this correct?

try going into settings>about phone>system updates and Update Firmware. Pretty sure that should update ur baseband. the baseband doesnt get backed up in a nandroid backup so hed have to include it in for it to get updated on your phone...

EDIT: You should make a nandroid backup first just in case...

OK, I've followed the directions and downloaded and restored the latest version. It says Gingerbread build FC29 but Baseband version EG29. Is this correct?


try going into settings>about phone>system updates and Update Firmware. Pretty sure that should update ur baseband. the baseband doesnt get backed up in a nandroid backup so hed have to include it in for it to get updated on your phone...

EDIT: You should make a nandroid backup first just in case...

I did a factory data reset and then rebooted, went to Update Firmware. It ran a check and then alerted that "No firmware update is available." Everything (including WiFi) is working, though. So...?

Added in edit: Baseband remains EG29.

Nevermind rebooting and going back into recovery then it restored fine.

EDIT: seem to be having the same problem as others however baseband remains EG29, and selecting update firmware just says its up to date

EDIT: It appears wifi isn't working for me either, will investigate further and post a fix if i find one

yeah wifi no worky, connects but you wont go anywhere.

Im thinking installing bobzhome's kernel and wifi injector may fix the wifi will try it and report back

EDIT: having too many issues gonna revert back with my backup, still I want to say thank you for all your hard work katracho, will try again once all the bugs get worked out.

There is a known issue with the update and wifi not working unless you use a static ip. More info can be found here: No Wi Fi After Update today!!???

The Baseband Won't Change And The 3g don't work.....Wifi Work but there's a force close when u go to status.....went back to chev rom backup....

I get this a lot in CWM. Just go to advanced>reboot recovery and try again.
