Default Question about RMA on a rooted Prime

Hi guys,

I'm RMA'ing my Prime back to Asus to hopefully improve it's WiFi performance. I'm not really sure if there's anything they can do but it's just so terrible I can't live with it anymore.

The tablet is rooted (with Voodoo backup) but is not unlocked. If I remember correctly there is an option within Root Keeper to unroot. Is this all that I need to do in order to get it back to stock?

Also, the CS guy from Asus said that they might need to do a full wipe and reload of the OS. I'm guessing that I need to get the backup file that Voodoo uses to do it's magic off of my Prime. Anyone happen to know where that is kept and what it's called?

If they do end up reinstalling the OS I will still be able to restore root with Root Keeper, right?

Thanks in advance!

Vodoo ota rootkeeper is a program that is able to backup your root but it is located as /system/su-backup or something of the sort. There is an option in 'SuperSU' that will allow you to permanently unroot it. But if you have a backup from vodoo ota rootkeeper you will need to delete the backup then unroot or else it will be re-rootable by restoration. If you havn't unlocked the bootloader you can flash the original firmware file from asus (ASUS - Eee- ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime TF201). If you have unlocked the bootloader DO NOT flash the firmware. I leaned it the hard way, i almost got my prime in a brick because of that. If your bootloader is unlocked, I don't think that it will be RMA'd. If your super lucky however, you can install CWM in rom manager (only flash version 5.8.2.0) and after that flash this: [RECOVERY] Repacked Clockworkmod recovery v5.8.2.0 + Touch v5.8.1.8 - xda-developers so that CWM will work. Once that's done, then flash a stock rom ([ROM]Asus stock .28 for Unlocked devices - xda-developers). But im not sure about the part where you remove CWM..

Thanks for the reply Snake!

I want it to be re-rootable by restoration. Once they return the tablet to me I will immediately restore root if possible. If I just use Voodoo to unroot and then copy the /system/su-backup files to my computer would that be enough or would they still be able to tell that it had been rooted?
