Default newb question

Will rooting prevent me from being able to get the stock gingerbread update (if they ever release it)? I rooted my OV as soon as I got it, mainly so I could overclock… but it seems like every ROM always had 1 or 2 things that didn’t work. Just wondering if I root the Triumph if I would ever be able to go back to stock for factory updates if I so choose.

At this point, without any sort of custom recovery, rooting won't stop anything. So if you're rooted, and take the update, all that will happen (most likely anyway) is you'll lose root access.

However, if/when custom recoveries start popping up for this phone (kinda depends on how locked down the bootloader is, as well), and if you have a custom recovery, 9 times out of 10 the custom recovery will keep your phone from automatically installing it.

And FYI, if the update hits your phone, and you download it, you can use something like Root Explorer (or another root file system app) and grab the .zip out of the /cache directory for us all!
