Cool [GUIDE] 100% Stock Motorola Triumph *Newb Proof*

DISCLAIMER: I am not responsible if you mess up, I am here helping you but also note that if you do something wrong and your phone turns into a brick it's on you.

Here yah go
Code:
Stock Nandroid: Stock_Triumph_1980-01-06.00.00.34.7z
Stock Recovery: recovery.zip
Stock Flashable Splash Image: Stock_Splash_Image_b_randon14_signed.zip
Buy me a cup of coffee?

Donation Link

Steps to Stock:
1st: First follow this guide:CWM on MT (Install CWM if you don't have it already)

2nd: Next use Stock nandroid and this guide Stock Nandroid Backup Guide
(ignore everything but how to set it up on your sd card and unzipping it. End product should be a folder, open that folder and you should see a "boot.img", "cache.img", "data.img", "nandroid.md5", and "system.img".

3rd: Next boot into CWM (turn off your phone and hold power and volume up and down, let go after the phone shows CWM. After CWM is up the controls are menu = select, volume keys = up and down, back = back) and look for mounts. First format system, data, cache, and under advanced format dalvik cache, then select "backup and restore" and under the restore options select the Stock_Triumph_1980-01-06.00.00.34 folder, and it will restore a never powered on backup of the stock rom.

*Optional:Only for those who changed splash logo.

*Note that you can just do the optional step after Step 4 and it will replace the splash image to default too.

4th: After its done don't reboot the phone just hit the back softkey till you get to the main menu and select power down. As you already installed CWM going back to stock is the same way. With the phone off hold power and volume (make sure nothing is plugged into it ex:usb or power) down till "polling" comes on then plug the usb cable in and connect it to your computer. Let it install drivers, then open your computer, open mobile, open image, then replace the recovery.img with the stock one (Stock one at top of the post). *Note the stock recovery comes zipped just unzip it till you have a recovery.img. It will ask you to "overwrite" hit yes wait about 10 seconds after its 100% done copying (it should only take about 5 seconds). Then unmount it from your computer and unplug the usb cable from the phone. Now as much as you might not want to, the only way to get out of download mode is battery pull, so pull the battery wait about 10 seconds put it back in.

*Optional: Sets Splash image default and a couple other things if your worried, not required though.

5th: Power your phone on, you now have 100% Stock everything Enjoy!

Have a LG Optimus V??? Want it stock too??? Here yah go [GUIDE!] 100% Stock LG Optimus V

*Note the reason I explain everything in so much detail is some people have less knowledge than others and when it was me with less knowledge I liked the extra explanation. Must of you would only need the links which is why I put them at the top.

All files here except stock recovery (which I supplied) are other peoples and the credit goes to them for supplying them. I only put together all the guides/files into a guide on 100% Stock.

If you are thinking about copying and pasting the guide to another forum/website I would hope that you had the decency to just permalink to it so people could get help if they had questions that weren't on the guide. If not at least link to it/give credit.

You can also put the phone in download mode and replace the files with the ones linked in the following post:

[FIX]Mobile Partition - Fix For Phone Wont Boot

Both will effectively do the same thing.

Though wasn't that a problem only in the old CWM for this phone since which they have removed the ability to wipe the "fat" partition which bricked it.

Yeah, but you can follow the same instructions and put your phone back to stock as well, even if you didn't reformat any partitions.

yea i can make it flashable for you... just give me 5 mins and ill have it up for you. also, i cannot make a script that makes a flashable zip, but i can modify my converter script to push it to your phone via usb cord. (you have to have adb setup though.)

You could take the zip and unzip it, then switch the splash.img, then zip the contents that were in the original zip (do not compress them when you do this).

Don't rename directories or files, just restore as is after downloading.

I'm confused with step 4. I already have CWM on my phone and I'm trying to revert to stock recovery. When I hold down the volume buttons and power button (with phone off) it just boots into CWM, doesn't ever say polling. What do I do?

Only hold volume down and power, not both volume buttons.

Hi, this is Khai. I did everything else, but in the step 3 when I selected backup and restore and restore, there is no Stock_Triumph_1980-01-06.00.00.34 file. The phone screen at the bottom said
"Couldn't open directory.
No files found."
I downloaded all the files and put them in the sd card.
By the way, the reason I am doing it is
I sold this phone after rooting it with cm7 and the buyer returned it back to me for trouble shooting purpose because the virginmobile customer service's trouble shooting code ##847466# won't work and the old phone no. keeps remaining. But only the 3G works.
Please please help. I really need some help. Thank you.

Default Switching between Stock ande Rom

I am new and have a stock MT. I am wanting to be able to switch between stock and custom rom as often as I like. If I install CWM on my stock phone and create a recovery image, then flash my desired ROM(probably cm7 reloaded) and create a CMW recovery image of the ROM can I then switch between stock and custom rom as often as I like. I kind of like to use the HDMI port from time to time, but would like to try the ROM. Also, does the recovery image restore installed apps and app data? Hope I'm posting in the right place. Thanks.

You are correct. You can restore the nandroid backups to easily switch back and forth. The backups save the apps and data in the exact state as when you made the backups.

You have to copy the whole folder "Stock_Triumph_1980-01-06.00.00.34," not just the files inside.

I followed all the restore steps.

I still have 2 issues:
Startup sound is gone.
Shutdown animation is not stock.

How do I fix these?

Thanks!

Hey guys i'm new here... i just got a triumph from someone on craigslist and i decided to flash it with ics 0.6.15.0. everything went well and worked great(thanks mantera and others then i realized i had never activated it with VMobile. I tried to switch phones online like virgin said and after typing in the meid# it gave me a list of steps to follow... of course i couldn't follow them because i was still on ics. I tried doing the 100% stock nandroid backup and everything went well except it never gets past the motorola splash logo :/ can someone help?
thanks in advance!!!

You might have a bad download...

Try redownloading the stock Triumph rom directly from b_randon14's thread and reflashing that:

Default please someone help!?

I think I may have bricked my MT I did the cwm recovery thing and CM7 a few months ago. Found out I didn't care for it much so I reverted back to the stock. But lately my phone has been rebooting out of nowhere all by itself. So I thought it may've been from me modding it. So today after it reboot itself I decided to "try" to take off cm7 & cwm recovery. I deleted everything and tried starting from scratch as to make it 100% stock. I did save everything before I did it to my comp, but now I don't know which order or where things go or how they go! I can't boot my phone or get into download mode, it just vibrates! I've tried alot of different things, like putting stock rom winrar file on, thats to big to fit even with nothing at all even on my phone. I tried putting clockworkmod back on, nandroid backup, recovery img, splash, shortcut recovery all of these things in all sorts of combinations... I am sooo newb to this, someone PLEASE help me!? I feel so lost without my phone & its only been a few hours!

Ok first pull the battery for at least like two minutes to completely shut it off. Then after putting it back in try going into download mode to put back CWM recovery. From there just do all of the standard wipes and get it to boot back into stock with the zip file. Don't worry about the splash.img, etc.
Here's another thread to help also:

im not getting what your meaning, if you cant turn the phone on at all how are you going to put the files back on??

and if the area your reffering to "getting the files back on" is the download mode folder then im pretty sure there really isnt anything in there like /system

so lets try and start with what did you delete from where?? the phone itself?? download mode?? all the above??

(FYI deleting things first was your mistake, when you flashed the phone you overwrote the original android system so deleteing everything wouldnt bring you back to stock)

To get your phone back up and running(if you deleted the mobile driver folder well need to start there, check picture below) we need to get CWM recovery back on so dont throw your stock recovery back on just yet

In Download mode it will give you the MOBILE folder when plugged into the pc, inside that drive should be a Image folder with these contents, check the attached pic

well what im shooting for you to do was, put all the files back as in the picture i had, your also gonna need to make sure your putting CWM recoverys image on and not the old stock recovery, you may wanna redownload a fresh CWM recovery image if you dunno which is which, also all things in your mobile folder should have the exact same name as the ones in mine

i would also keep trying the have nothing plugged in, remove battery, hold power for atleast 30 seconds without battery in, then when you put the battery in try and go straight into CWM recovery, holding power and Vol+ and Vol- altogether

also if its still going into download mode or developer mode whatever you wanna call it, then its possibly not dead yet, possibly

Someone else might know what to do next, but VM should give you a replacement.

Edit: Tokens210 above is right. You have to go straight into CWM.

If you renamed the file, make sure that it doesn't have any spaces.

Okay, if it wasn't renamed then it is most likely corrupted. Md5 checks for that stuff, and renaming it with spaces will cause it to fail as well.
