This is very smooth and it feels like my 3G is better. I cant lie ill be happy when we get MIUI ICS since they are discontinuing the themes on GB. Seems like No One can figure it out. But this will hold me to the wait.

I agree about the smoothness. I've used almost every ROM on this forum and MIUI always seems the smoothest for me. Never any lag or slowdown at all. MIUI ICS would be nice, but GB does everything I need.

Now I just need to find out which kernel I want to put on. Mock or Speed Demon.

Beautiful Rom!! LOVE IT!

p.s. My fav app, WinAmp FC'd , but I fixed it. I run Rom Toolbox for maintenance. I went into app manager >select the FC'd app> select Fix Permissions from the sub menu at the bottom. It will fix the permissions for the individual app. I also noticed that most all of my apps run in "compatibility mode", found in Settings> Manage Apps> select the FC'd app. Changing the compatibility mode may help the FC problem. Also, I found the If you are have A LOT of FC's, either Fix Permissions on your whole list, or update your SU binary works. Usually either your old apps are not compatible with the new Rom, or Superuser is out of date, and the binary needs to be updated. I really love this Rom. Nice work guys!

Ok.. loving the rom but I'm getting a couple issues... I changed the columns and rows to 5x4 instead of 4x4 and I got constant fc's on the launcher.. I couldn't make it back to the settings so I had to reflash lol... and every time I clear cache/history/cookies in the web browser I get a fc too.. I can deal with the web browser issue but would reeeeeaaaally like to get another column of apps on my home screen.. other than that this rom is awesome!

SO STOKED when this came out! All the while I thought I was hitting ignore while answering calls and that was causing a FC lol... silly me

I've mentioned a couple things in other threads that may help here as well.
1: - Boot Loop: When I initially flashed this ROM w/o doing a full reset, I ended up in a boot loop for 10+ minutes. Be sure to do a factory reset, cache wipe, and dalvik wipe before flashing.
2 - Force Closes: In regards to the massive number of FCs that many have experienced with MIUI ROMs, I did not encounter such a problem with this version. The only FC problems I had were with a few apps that I had backed up and restored from my SD card (most of them worked find btw). Creating a nandroid backup in CWM, full reset, and restoring from the CWM backup has worked several times for me with no FC issues.
3 - Voicemail: In regards to the voicemail thing, I was rather puzzled by the *86 call and not being prompted with my usual voicemail menu. My solution was to create a contact titled "Voicemail" with my own phone number. You only have to scroll for it once, then its in your recent calls.
4 - Launcher and MMS More than a few people have complained of the MIUI launcher, my quick fix was to just install the launcher (Go Launcher Ex) from the market that I had been using previously w/ CM7 and the Stock ROM. Naturally I had had the settings backed up to my SD card and restored them (see #2). The same goes for the messaging app which some have complained about.
5 - Kernels: A few people have said that the Speed Demon Kernel was lagging on them. This was a non-issue while using the preset CPU settings (ondemand/sio - min:245, max:1024). When clocked to MinMax/cfq - min:24, max:1901 I do have some lag on screen rotations and while typing (using SwfitKey3 from market). I haven't tried the mOCk kernel yet, or many other clock settings, but I don't expect them to be any worse since the mentioned setup is pretty heavy duty.

Update (8/7/12): After using mOCk for a few days now, it is definitely smoother than Speed Demon. Absolutely no qualms about switching to mOCk after having used Speed Demon for quite some time. Performance benchmark wise there wasn't a big sacrifice either which I though may be the case by not having the Smoothass governor but multiple tests ruled in favor of mOCk in my experience.

Is there any way to fix the status bar force closing upon swiping to remove a notification? It would be a very useful feature to have working.

Default WOW

Well, I'm back on the android scene and me being a big time MIUI fan, I was a little disappointed with how MIUI operated poorly on this phone. I was always grateful don't get me wrong, but felt like a piece was always missing. After doing some updates and just felt like giving this ROM one more shot I am AMAZED with how this runs. Smooth, no lag (big thing for me), and just all around better. I don't know WHO made this ROM so incredible again, but I want to personally buy you a beer. Verty good! Keep up the good work! BTW, I ALWAYS needed SetCPU to make it run good, but I don't need it now! Running mOCk kernel too so idk if that helped. Also installed the touch recovery and man is it GREAT!

Thanks for the FYI on that MIUI Backup. I wasn't sure bout that one. I usually make a backup after I get my "stuff" re-installed after flashing a new Rom. I'll make a FULL CWM
backup now. You never know when those things will become handy!

Its best to not restore apps on this rom. Usually causes force closes.

Honestly, I believe this ROM is MUCH more stable than Issac's 1.11.25 build. Much smoother, much less FC too. I HAVE had a few crashes that led me to pop out my battery while using PowerAMP, but if you disable compatibility mode on those troublesome apps, should work fine. Other than that, best ROM I have ever used!

I'm having trouble to turn on Bluetooth. I believe from the first page that Bluetooth should be working with this ROM... Is there anything that needs to be done to be able to use Bluetooth?

No, it should work fine...did with me anyway. Did you wipe data/cache before you installed?

Default MIUI mp3 player without the art.

I noticed the inability to load album art in the stock mp3 player. I just uninstalled it and run WinAmp free as a replacement. You can purchase added "sideload app" to download art directly to Winamp, or you can use Cover Art Downloader app from Google Play. I like WinAmp because it comes with a radio player as part of the app. Internet radio is good when you want a change from your own music collection. Runs great with MIUI.

I've fallen deeply in love with this ROM! I downloaded Sapphire theme thru

running very smoothly after a week. AWESOME!

Is the PowerAmp setting for replacing the default locker checked? I remember that caused a problem for me on a few other roms. And I'm sure this is a no brainer, but you could uninstall and reinstall PowerAmp. If none of that works, did you restore poweramp from a backup app or as part of an nandroid backup in CWM? I've had problems with some apps when factory reseting, flashin, and restore. Much better off going the CWR route.

Sure you can... while in the player go into the settings and check the "show album art" box... I don't know a fix for the skipping tho

My suggestion would be to use the stock miui music player... it's perfect (for me anyway)

Ever time i get a call my phone restarts the second it receives it, i don't even get to see the phone app pop up, no notification nothing. I do receive text though the only reason i know that i don't receive calls is that ive tried multiple friends phones. Honestly you think Muiu would jump on this because its effecting the only purpose you would use your phone for, im very frustrated that i have to stick with the older miui :/ when this should work just perfectly

First off this does nothing between Miui 2.4.20 and 1.11.25 they are the exact same.
Second iv'e been digging into framework.jar and it turns out it to is the same :/ so im just guessing that the problem with the Phone FC is Framework-res.apk im going to extract the apk and compare them tomorrow. Im determined to get this working >

I've had problems with some apps when factory reseting, flashin, and restore. Much better off going the CWR route.
No, it's off so that's not a problem. To be honest...It's an older version that was cracked and patched that someone did for me and I have kept it ever since XD I don't trust google one bit to give them ANY of my banking info, let alone me not trusting banks either, so I never buy apps. I'm thinking of trying to update it...whats weird though, is I ALWAYS had issues with PowerAMP whether it was lag or what not, but on this rom, it is SO SMOOTH. No lag. No nothing. But it will crash the whole system. XD Wonder if it is because of the different kernel I am using...everything is better, except PA...

Yea, I like the stock one but let me tell you, once I started using PowerAMP I will NEVER go back. I get really picky when it comes to equalizer settings, and when I saw the freedom PA lets you have, I was all over it lol

Ahh.. I see.. I usually use mine in the car.. I prefer to run it clean into my stereo and eq it there... I'm thinking about replacing my head unit in my car with an android tablet.. just run the audio out into an eq and then straight to the amp... music, GPS, video, etc for a couple hundred bucks

O.O that would be so boss...I would do that with my tablet, if i could find another digitizer and chassis for my transformer

EDIT: well, it seems ANY music player will crash the system ESPECIALLY the standard MIUI default. Seems to me the default player MIGHT be causing a problem...If I come up with an alog cat, would any devs here try and make sense of it, if it would help at all??

Kiss Choices

Ok, I have been tweeking this rom for bout two weeks and have only two complaints,
1) sometimes your fav custom tweeked settings won't save after a reboot.
2) having so many customization choices can be a BAD thing (especially
if you're a female). It's like being given a credit card, with no limit,
and being told to have fun at the mall! SERIOUSLY!
I have never spent so much time with a rom over choices!
I'm running Default theme, Faenza icon pack, and Sapphire font.
All other ringtones & stuff is my own from my sd card.
I think I have a theme that I will keep for a while, as nothing
is FCing. Very beautiful rom!

Default Awesome

I just fixed my Phone app force closing by reformatting my sdcard it no longer crashes or restarts or fc on 2.4.20 or 2.6.1(ICS) could someone else who is experiencing these issues try that and let me know if it works or not? thanks. and 2.6.1 isnt working with mOCK kernel so its still a battery hog.

Also i noticed the "top bar" option in battery options does not work the regular battery icon disappears as it should then the bar doesn't show up on top :/

I think I may have an answer for you that might work, try to go into the SETTINGS >MANAGE APPS and look at the individual apps that are FCing. I've noticed that most all the apps listed are running in "compatibility" mode. I believe that toggle is for helping the rom with conflict issues between "stock apps" and downloaded ones. If you have installed any of your Favs ,(and you should fresh install them, they work better), AND uninstalled any stock apps, then hit that toggle. That will assign that app to run as the DEFAULT app. Take great care not to fool with SuperSU & superuser. if they are working, then your apps needing permission will be listed. When I flashed this rom, I wiped data/factory reset, then formatted system (under mounts & storage). Formatting the system WILL clean out all traces of your old rom junk. This should give you a "FRESH" & clean flash to start with. You may still get one or two FCs, but I think that may be due to conflict between the app & MIUI. It happens with custom roms, and MIUI is as custom as it gets!

Sorry for the late response. I did wipe data/cache but still have issues to enable bluetooth.

Any other suggestion that I may try?

Anyone having a problem with the Play Store disappearing?

When I first flash the ROM it says market and it works fine, but after I open it updates to Play Store and disappears.

When I go to applications I see Play Store under Downloaded and if I uninstall updates it disappears from Downloaded goes back to system apps and shows up again as Market.

I tried wiping and flashing the ROM twice.

I'm using CWM 5.5.0.4 (I think it's the newest)

I had the same thing happen. But I found the Play icon on a different screen. I usually always use my computer to re-install apps just because it's quicker. After it first disappeared, I did a restart and that seemed to fix it.

How is the GPS on this ROM? Does it have a quicker fix on satellites or is it slow as the stock version of the triumph? Thanks.
