@rukin5197 -- I had some free time, so I decided to try your zip out. Boots up to a black screen, and the screen gets brighter and dims and stuck in a loop. I was, however, able to get a logcat out of it. Loops with a problem with /system/lib/hw/hwcomposer.msm7x30.so -- Triumph CM10 Crash Logcat - Pastebin.com Hope this helps!

Wow thanks a LOT!

Try switching out with this one:

hwcomposer.msm7x30.so

WOW HOLY CRAP IT DISPLAYED SOMETHING!

Unfortunately, still not booting New logcat: Triumph CM10 Crash Logcat 2 - Pastebin.com Segmentation fault from the looks of it. This one seems to be related to /system/lib/hw/lights.triumph.so

What exactly did it display? Bootanimation?

Alright well I'm going to have a new full ROM here soon, uploading now. I'm expecting it to be the same exact thing as the one with the new hwcomposer, but it's worth a shot.

Well... the crash is different this time. No display with this build, though. Just a black screen. Triumph CM10 Crash Logcat 3 - Pastebin.com

Just to see what would happen, I tried replacing hwcomposer.msm7x30.so, and that gives me a looping boot animation again, with this logcat: Triumph CM10 Crash Logcat 4 - Pastebin.com

Alright well for the last test try this:

Goo.im Downloads - Downloading test1.zip

If this doesn't work, then try replacing the hwcomposer and get to the bootanimation and try deleting the lights.triumph.so from adb

First boot and I got the graphics error, so I pushed the other file.

Then, I got the lights error, so I removed the lights.triumph.so file.

Then it booted! Up and running now! I have cell signal, but no data. Tested a phone call, and I was able to receive a phone call, and the microphone worked. But... audio came out of the speakerphone speakers instead of the earpiece. Can't turn on WiFi to get a data connection, and voice dialing just produces an error (I didn't flash gapps, so I have no market to test anything like voice search/Google Now). Bluetooth turns on, but I don't have anything handy to test bluetooth with.

Camera, no surprise, doesn't work. GPS seems to turn on, but I don't have an app to test it with :/

When pressing power button, screen turns off, but backlight does not. Additionally, the haptic buttons don't light, and the charging LED isn't lighting, either. I'm guessing this is all related to the removal of lights.triumph.so.

Otherwise, the system seems to run really smooth! Awesome work! If you need any more information, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

I know that this is a Dev-Only thread. I just wanted to pop in to say thank you guys for all the hard work to get us some Jelly Bean. A question though does Project Butter live up to the name?

No, I didn't change the kernel from my last cm9 build. You guys will probably need to update it to get full functionality.

Nice work rukin and truejournals.

Rukin-it looks like you'll need to revert this commit after all:
https://github.com/mantera/android_device_motorola_triumph/commit/0ae53d76bc115ecbfc4f3031685a40ca6eb921e2

I think in the first logcat, it said that the mt didn't support hardware vsync. that's possibly why you had to replace that hwcomposer file.

Well the latest build has that line added as well. As well as a commit reverted from hardware/qcom/display. So the doesn't seem like the correct error for that. The lights is what's throwing me off. Jmz said that I could use his audio_effects.conf but I don't see where that could be of any use to anything.

Think I may have fixed the hwcomposer problem. Now the problem is the liblights. I'll look into it.

I'm also not surprised about the problems that we have. Since we fixed the ril in the device files. We will have to hand edit the code once again. Hopefully we can just use the same code.

EDIT: Looks as if I have fixed wifi. I'll work on 3g next.

Hmm well the Triumph I'm testing on now doesn't have 3g or phone/sms capabilities. Seeing as you're on, are you able to test for me?

Scratch that. Looks as if mantera compiled the .35 kernel but hasn't included it in the build yet. In about phone it still says .32.

Fixed the lights. Apparently WiFi won't connect unless you do it manually, but it does work on first boot now.

And Music playback is broken. I will make a new section for broken and working.

I'm a little lost. Are you guys actually getting jb working? I understand it's far from being ready, but still good start. Maybe by the time cm9 is up and running with camera, this well be ready and the camera fix will be much faster. Can't wait for ics but jb it's gonna be sweet. No pun intended.

CM7 and CM9 shouldn't even be worked on especially now that it seems CM10 is booting and a few things work. I have no idea why CM7 is even being worked on at all.

CM10 is still in development by CM. CM9's code is now stable so they want to work on that more. By the way this is awesome.

I think CM7 is officially on hold due to focusing on 9 & 10. With that being said, CM7 has a functioning camera, so a lot of users Still have it as a daily driver.

I was so excited to see the Jelly Bean progress that I decided to man-up and figure out how to compile from source. After figuring that out and waiting forever for it to download and compile I flashed the ROM and it's a black screen after the Moto logo. I saw that Rukin was able to boot so I'm kind of confused. Is the latest source not up or did I just screw something up?

Rukin, if you ever need someone to test a ROM, I'm willing. Been looking to get into more dev for a while and it looks like a good way to help out.

Great job so far to everyone involved!

Latest device files that make it boot are in my git. I haven't set up a manifest yet until I get a stable build.

For now, just rm the device files and clone mine and rm the libhardware_legacy and clone mine and you should be good to go.

Sorry for the quiet development. I've been dealing with some personal situations and I've recently broken my phone and am on the verge of getting a new one. An HTC One V to be exact. I will start development very soon. If I don't end up picking back up, I'll I'm setting up an updated manifest tonight for the fixes. BSydz or MTDEVS can take over. It's horribly rigged up, sorry for that guys.

No I am. I broke my HTC Evo 4g. My Triumph is still with my little brother. I've just been dealing with getting a new phone (had to sell Kindle Fire, and Evo for parts, etc.)

EDIT: Manifest updated.

Hope you get everything worked out. Don't worry, at least it boots and hopefully we can all come together with some fixes and get some stuff going.

I'm working on data know, did you ever figure out anything on the hardware composer front? I saw the temp fix, but I was just wondering. Seems to keep the backlight on all the time, and with the triumph lights won't boot all the way, I still need to pour over all the logs. I always change too much and break the build. It seems like JB to ICS is like GB to Froyo, things are way different. I'm probably not the best hope for this, but I'm trying. I have a test for 3G I am about to flash in a minute. I've pulled down so much source that I have to make my partition bigger so I don't run out of room while I'm building, like I already have a couple times. All respect to mantera as he set this up without even having the phone anymore, I'm sure he still has a few tricks up his sleeve. But I don't expect anything from him, he has already done a ton of stuff for the community, and this stuff takes forever. Good luck guys!

Lol Like I said, I basically rigged up the fixes for it to boot until I get the legit fixes out. As you've probably seen with my recent commit, I've removed the building of lights.triumph.so. So I think you might need to merge upstream or something. Lol.

Also, you can use lights.triumph.so from ICS and it will work correctly. That's what I did. I just forgot to throw it in the prebuilt folder.

Right now the main problem is data. I can upload my current test commit for data but I've been told that it doesn't work. It's basically migrating the ICS fix into JB. That's what I did to fix wifi.

Yeah, I saw the commit, I've just been pulling from the website when I need to, so I don't mess up what I have now. I got wifi going and then I saw your post, so I figured there was no need to clutter the thread, cause that was what I did to get it working. Thanks for the heads up on the .so, with the back light on the whole time I couldn't leave it laying around or the battery would be dead when I got back to it.

Thing that stinks about that is that they've removed the SIM_NOT_READY, NV_READY, and RUIM_NOT_READY. It's in this commit:
https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_frameworks_base/commit/fc2cbe9b46ab17a401dc50f8e0dbb677ed012299
I don't know how dependent the Motorola Triumph are on those radio states, so I don't know if I should revert this commit or if I should make it compatible with it. Right now I'm fighting off build errors with it.

EDIT: My latest commit for RIL fix backport

I got around a few errors by searching for the compatible reference, like NV_READY is RADIO_ON, I think, but I am away from the computer right now. I tried to add the other two to RIL.java but got other errors and had to leave so that is where I left it. Good luck!
