∙ Added back stock menu under Settings < System

Gang this will be the last update until I get the camera working. I am rolling back the code to complete 100% stock and adding in our device files. The plan is to focus on the camera and get that working, and then slowly add in our changes (audio, gps, 3g, etc). This process may take some time but I think will prove the best route to go. I have an itching feeling that all the old CM7 camera edits maybe causing the problem with the camera as CM9 has changed so much but figure it's best to start from a clean slate. Stay tuned!

Texts over 160 characters send, but are not received by the other person...I fixed it by decompliling the Mms.apk and change the mms config xml, adding this line:

Code:
<bool name="enableSplitSMS">true</bool>
So I guess you could change your overlay as far as a source code fix goes...
Thanks for all your work MTDEV and G60!

Thanks man I got the first build done and it's even faster and the video is even better than the latest release. Right now camera, 3g, wifi, gps, and headset do not work but bluetooth is so fast it's nuts you push the button and it's on and it connected in mere seconds to my device. Also we have back the old recent apps look as we are back to the stock code. Mantera made changes to this to give it more of a 3d look when holding down the home button. I prefer the stock look myself as it's the same in Jelly Bean.

Oh also I have back Apollo and it seems to be running flawless right now so I will probably keep this in the ROM unless people prefer the stock music player.

Hey g60. I lost my data connection on my Triumph and I can't seem to get it back with any ROM or any APN settings. Where should I be looking for this? Can you help me if you got time? Thanks in advanced.

I checked APN with APN Manager and there's no Virgin Mobile APN. There are a bunch of other APNs. So, I made VM APN and still no luck. Phone is in RPC_Debug_Mode and can't change to Release_Mode in DbgcfgTool.

Personally I think Apollo is slick and I'd like to see it on the next from, tho I know there are others that don't feel that way. Nonetheless, here's to the camera being functional sometime soon. I check this thread several times a day in anticipation; maybe I need to get a life haha

Same result. If I install any Froyo ROM, it's the same. If I install CM7, APN shows up as Virgin Mobile but no connection still. Same in CM9. Did all clean installs. Wiped everything.

Even on stock ROM, activation doesn't work anymore. 1x icon doesn't come up when I go to activation.

Cool CM9 Flashlight not working

I flashed the CM9 ROM on my MT last night. I was using CM7 Starship ROM previously (I've tried most of the ROM's for the MT). This build is excellent. It runs super smooth and fast...better than this phone has ever done before. I noticed the flashlight app won't work, which I assume is because it's part of the camera apparatus. I was very hesitant to try CM9 b/c of the camera issue (I love taking pics), but I have great faith that you guys will get it fixed Again thanks for the awesome ROM.

Default Great Build - Same Minor Problems

Hi, I want to thank you folks for an excellent ROM. It is a lot faster than the old CM9 that I was running. Great job!

I did have the problem with superuser not working properly reported by a number of users here. I did solve it by using CWM to flash an update of superuser. I then updated the binary. This seemed to fix the problem.

I noticed a minor problem with a setting in the System Settings>Wifi>Advanced>Keep Wi-fi on during sleep>. The last option is: Never (increases data usage). If "Never" means wifi is never on when the phone is sleeping, wouldn't this mean that data usage would go down? In any case, when I use this option, the wifi disconnects when it sleeps as it should. However, when it wakes, it does not reconnect though. The phone seems to think that it is still connected because it does not even have the option of reconnecting. I had to turn wifi off and then on again to reconnect to the wifi connection.

I also did not notice any increase in volume.

In general, I found this to be great ROM. There are fewer lags than with the previous version of CM9 I had installed.

Thanks.

Loving it so far.

I have found an annoying sound issue though. The volume randomly goes really low, even when turned up to the highest. A reboot restores normal volume. Anyone else seen this?

Thanks MTDEV for all your hard work!

Yep me too, although rebooting doesn't solve the issue for me. It's especially low when I use TuneIn Radio.

Sounds great. I'll probably load up the rom sometime tonight since I don't have my phone with me at this moment. Primarily, I want to have or less a congruous experience between my phone and tablet. Gingerbread feels a little clunky after a while. The camera is the only thing that's holding me back a bit, but I don't use it too often, just to take the odd picture here and there.

I thought the previous version had fixed the volume issues (usually when getting a notification) but it looks like its back.

Also the new 3D app switch isn't as efficient as CM7, little icons > scrolling thru windows!

Keep in mind that Apollo intercepts all Bluetooth headset commands, even when another app is assigned control of the Bluetooth headset buttons.

Also noticed something strange here that didn't happen on CM7. Launching Google Earth appears to make the phone reboot. G60, can you confirm this? Also the GPS is still inaccurate on CM9 and CM7, possibly due to all the permissions changes as of late. Just giving feedback here. Fix this if you can when you have time. No pressure man.

No, because any time your phone needs to use a data connection it will use your data plan if Wi-Fi is turned off. When Wi-Fi is turned on all data access goes through Wi-Fi hence saving data usage. Google should probably clarify that since they don't mean data in the general term, but specifically the data usage on your phone plan that is being counted by your phone provider (VM). They use a similar terminology under the GPS setting and warn you that if you turn it on it will decrease your battery life, which is not completely true - it's only true when you have an application actively using GPS. Having GPS enabled in the Settings does not turn GPS on - it just allows applications to activate GPS. It would be nice if Google gave more clear definitions in some of those warnings.

When g60 gets thing set up, and he lets me, I can fix things like that. It's easy with a simple edit. He still has a bug tracker through the website, submit a feature request and I know where to make the changes.

EDIT: HAHA, I forgot whech ROM I was in. My point still stands. I just ment when he gets the new "stock" code done.

That makes sense, but that assumes that we have our "data" connection on. I usually have mine off to save power. For me, when the wifi is off, my 3g does not take over because it has been switched off. This means it does not use more data in my case.

Default Switching Keyboards

I have been having trouble getting this new ROM to use another keyboard app. I select the SlideIT keyboard that I have installed, but the keyboard never opens. It always goes back to the default keyboard.

Anyone else have this problem? Any workarounds?

This isn't a deal breaker for me, but that default keyboard is pretty crappy.

Thanks.

Under the keyboard and languages and keyboard, you have check the checkbox to enable the keyboard. Then in a field for inputting text, long press the space and tward the bottom there will be a menu item for input selection. That's where you would select the keyboard.

Just throwing this out there.

I have that done already. I selected it, but it still goes with the default keyboard. In addition, the default keyboard is grayed out and is always selected.

I might be able to test this tonight, but have you tried a reflash? And have you checked the MD5 checksum?

Anyone else have this problem? Any workarounds?

This isn't a deal breaker for me, but that default keyboard is pretty crappy.

Thanks.
Did you install from a previous backup or from the store? I've had apps not play nice using backups. a reflash/reinstall might help.

Go into contacts, then click on your contact. When the contact is pulled up click on the menu key which is the far left key with the little squares and choose edit.

I've tried that. If press the contact it calls the person and if I press the contact picture it pulls it up but the menu button doesn't do anything. Any help is appreciated.

Click the contact picture, then in the menu that comes up click the top part where the contact name and picture is. Then hit menu and edit. Also you can just go into the app drawer and open the program named 'people' to edit contacts.

I'm using cm9 g60 10-13-2012 as a daily driver now. On cm7 it was apparent my
battery was about shot, only leaving an hour from full charge to going dead, with cm9 i get all day battery life with a shitty battery, when my new battery comes in, cm9 seems to use such little power ill prolly get uber battery life.

I sent a message to vm customer service, regarding upgrading our os to jelly bean, maybe if a bunch up us should bitch to them, well get them to do it. lol

Anyhow I dont know why id want stock jelly bean, because the g60 cm9 has nearly all the bells and whistles,i prolly wouldnt use the stock jelly bean anyways

I started out by restoring with a backup. I then uninstalled and did a clean install. I also tried another keyboard app to make sure that it wasn't a problem specific to the other app.

I will probably wait until the next build to reflash the rom. While the default keyboard is terrible, it isn't a deal breaker for me.

Thanks.

Default WIFI Auto Connect

Hey guys! Couple days ago I've switched to this ROM from [ROM][PORT] MIUI 2.4.20-Triumph [UPDATED 07/27/2012]| (GB 2.3.7 based) and so far I'm loving it! So far I haven't had any issues (except known no camera or flashlight) that are frustrating me but one.

I did wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition once more and wipe dalvik cache before flashing this ROM. After first boot I've also rebooted as per install instructions.

I've set up my WIFI, saved the settings and connected to it successfully, worked on it for a while, everything seemed fine.

First issue I'm having is that when I turn the wifi back on it does not auto connect to my network.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/wc19uw16ms1s1re/2012-10-19%2010.33.22edit.png

Second one is that when WIFI is on but not connected and the screen is off after a while the phone will reboot. This will randomly happen if I just let the phone sit like that till I turn the WIFI off or connect it.

You guys are awesome at finding solutions and giving advice, I'm sure we can figure this one out Thanks in advance

I think the WiFi libraries may be the cause. I haven't checked the commits my self, but the same thing seems to be happening with CM7. I think it might be an accsess point library combonation. Maybe an unknow call.

Thanks Metal, we aim to please! Yeah the new version I am working on seems to be reconnecting fine, just need to fix the hidden Wi-Fi and we should be golden. Camera is still coming as I have yet to work on it yet, just want to get all the other hardware working first.

Thanks G60 for all your work. Unfortunately you won't be getting any help from Motorola since they just released their list for devices that didn't make the cut. Thread here: Motorola has posted their list for devices that will get an upgrade to Jb

You're doing a stupendous job without them though. You probably know the Triumph more than they know about it.

I've been having a ton of issues with the Wifi tethering. The phone will go into tether mode, but my computer will lose internet access quite a bit. It'll still be connected to the phone, but anything beyond that is up to chance. Haven't used Bluetooth tethering since I don't have a bluetooth reciever on my coputer.
