Kernel 2.6.35.7!!!!!!! Kick @SS!!!!
A picture is worth a thousand words
This kernel is using the 2G VMSPLIT. I tried the 3G VMSPLIT but it would not boot or logcat using the 3G VMSPLIT ROM I built. Also for fun I loaded the camerahal but it got stuck in a loop on the bootanimation screen. Other problem is the kernel is rebooting on it's own after being in the ROM for a few minutes. I will need to spend more time on this, but this a good start for us!!!! I will be pushing the source code up in a few, however this is right from
edowar with a modified config file to work using the 2G VMSPLIT.

So this is related to what you and b_random were talking about? Or is it just a fresher angle to work with?

I had suspicions before, but now I'm pretty sure.
Congratulations

Yeah its what we where talking about the 3G VMSPLIT is simply how memory is shared from the kernel to the apps to the libs. This whole time when we installed tjs camera fix it hangs the phone and it won't boot. Basically it should all work hand in hand. I have some ideas I'm going to try tonight and see if can make some headway.

We need to boot it up, have it hooked up to logcat and see if it throws any errors before rebooting. Do some kernel monitoring for signs of bad health lol!

Didn't get that far, it was hooked up to adb but I didn't see anything stick out. Still have a few ideas just haven't been able to get there yet. I plan on slowing down on the releases so I can focus on the kernel now that everything seems to be pretty stable with cm9.

Funny you ask as Bsydz is working on the agengienal kernel right now which is 2.6.35.7 kernel, its still rebooting but the torch is working which means if Bsydz can figure out the kernel we maybe able to get the camera working? Still to early to tell but its in process.

G60, when I had my optimus v there was a dev over in the android central forums for the optimus s a dev guru named drew walton that really had a handle on the 2.6.35.7 (gingerbread & I.c.s.) kernel. You might reach out to him as well, I ran a few different versions of optimus s roms on my v that ran flawlessly. I know this is a different phone but he is bad ass and he might be able to help?
