There's just one problem: I looked at the comments on the app and it only allows low-res shots.

Most "silent camera" apps don't let you make 5MP pictures. The only one I have seen do it is:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.blundell&feature=search_result#?t=W 251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5ibHVuZGVsbCJd

This is my normal camera app and it works fine on the Sharp rom. It can take 5MP pix just fine with it.

Now... will it save pictures to disk on CM9. Could someone give it a try?

That app just silents the click sound on the regular stock camera. It's useless as a button on a shithouse door for CM9 cause the CM9 stock camera can't save pics.Read the description.

if you want center and turned correctly these work and save. Yes low res but right now auto focus doesn't work.
ActionSnap and set it for fast single shot

I think the point we can take from this is that the CM9 camera functions do somewhat work (assuming the camera app makes calls to CM9). So there is hope that the developers will be able to tweak the libraries to make the thing work. Perhaps it has something to do with the resolution (working in low res).
