Well, I think Jeepers Creepers is most scary movie. This movies format is based on a series of horror films Jeepers Creepers large and struck gold at the box office of an audience composed mainly of teenagers and young adults. I was so scare watching this movie.

I was laughing too hard while watching this movie to actually be able to understand the plot. LOL (Just kidding, BTW! I actually like this movie, but it definitely didn't scare me.)

I have never found a truly scary movie (for me at least), though I have seen a lot that were just disturbing (Faces of Death). I hate how some of the movies have horrible acting. That, for me, ruins a lot of potentially good scary movies.

I was thinking about it, I really liked The Mist (Stephen King) and The Stand (again Stephen King).

And probably like with most movies made from books, The Stand novel was way better than the movie. I understand it was made for TV....I think I wanna see a remake thats put in theaters.

I just thought of another really good scary movie. It's called House and is based off the novel by Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker. I think it is a great movie and the book is even better!

Google Books: House - Google Books

IMDB: House (2008)

No one thought Nightmare on Elm street was scary, especially back in the day? I didn't like the sequels after the 2nd one but that had me freaked out for a little bit too.

One, two, Freddy's coming for you.

My old lady and I are exact opposites. She gets freaked out by stuff that could really happen, i.e. the psycho serial killer stuff.

I get freaked out by the paranormal stuff. Paranormal Activity kept me up pretty much for two nights straight.

My feeling is, I can punch a real person, I can't punch a ghost. Thus, I don't worry so much about a real person trying to kill me.

American Warewolf in London (orignal) scared me silly when I saw it when I was about 8 due to my sadistic babysitter making me watch it. A few months after that I saw Close Encounters of The Third Kind and the aliens gave me nightmares for ages. I love CETK now, but still get shivers when I see the aliens.

Movies don't really scare me now though but thats because I know how the special effects are done and I'm old enough to not believe everything I see.

The year was 1973... and the movie was, and in my opinion, one of the scariest "psychological" horror movies of all time. The movie was called "The Legend of Hell House".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MDF9vZVd_s

It's not necessarily gory or bloody but it'll take you on a mental roller coaster.

LOL. I do that sometimes to myself. I don't even need to watch a scary movie. I freak myself out thinking that there's gonna be a little ghost kid like the one in Pet Cemetery behind me. After that, my heart starts pounding even though I know it's not real.

I'm a horror movie connoisseur and nothing really scares me.

A few good ones are Rose Red, Dead Silence with the ventriloquist and the original Amityville Horror. Love those movies

I'm glad someone else agrees with me about Rose Red. Have you seen The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer (2003) (TV)

Yea, that was the prequel to Rose Red. It had a great story line and not just one of your slice & gore horror flicks.

Although I like those as well

I thought Ellen Rimbauer really answered a lot of questions Rose Red didn't.

I too love chop-em-up, bloody-gory movies too, but I would rather have a psychological horror movie that really makes you thing.

Back when I was in High School a drama teacher made us watch a 1929 movie called "Un Chien Andalu". It's a surreal Salvadore Dali film from the silent film era and one of the creepiest films I've ever watched.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUaP-IB-2Gs

The first scene of the movie (the shaving razor and the eye ball) never ceases to freak me out!

As a teen, I thought The Shining was the scariest movie I had ever seen.

Watching the character of Jack Torrance descend into madness is some-
thing I will always remember. And even though I did not understand all
of the plotlines at the time, Jack's son Danny exhibits ESP type abilities
that allow him to see the dead.

Even now, my spine shivers remembering certain aspects of the movie.

"HEEEEREEE'S JOHHNNIE" - Jack Torrance as he uses an axe to enter
the bathroom and murder his wife.

For me it has to be An American Werewolf in London (1981), I remember watching it on VHS when I was a kid. Having to walk home from my girlfriends in the dark through the lanes. A cow in a field coughed, boy that kid could run.

Not bringing anything original here but Salem's Lot was the one that did me in as a kid. The vampire floating outside kid's window and scratching the glass.... thinking about it still kinda knots up my stomach.

Candyman had me scared of bathroom mirrors for years (yes, years) and the music at the opening credits replaying in my head kept me awake many a night.

The Ring always freaked me out. I am 27 years old, and I still don't like watching that movie by myself.

The original When A Stranger Calls scared the hell out of me when I was little.

Not the whole movie, but the guy behind the dumpster in Mulholland Drive scared the living shit out of me the first time I saw that scene.

Scariest movie. Hmm. May be The Final Destination and The Last Exorcism.

That movies made me can't sleep well. LoL.

Jeepers Creepers freaked me out a bit. That's no easy feat considering I'm a Horror film addict.

The original Omen. I can't get past the music--ever!!! Nosferatu (original) is freaky and the Stephen King Vampire flick...
