I dont even think I'll return for the next series. It seems like they spent most of the budget on the effects, as apposed to decent actors and scriptwriters.

1. They already have the actors.
2. As long as they stay close to the books, most of the writing is done for them.
Looking forward to it as well, and we get a proper season this time, not just 6 episodes. Anybody who likes the show, I highly recommend the graphic novels, they are even better.
Well I re watched the first season on DVD on Saturday, and the new episode on Sunday, and I have to say, the new season looks like it's gonna be awesome! With 13 episodes I wonder how far they will get into the books, (and how far they will deviate from them). I hope they continue to change it up some (but not too much). It's cool to still be able to not know for sure what's going to happen, even though I've read all of the books. Who else here has read them?
I haven't read the graphic novels but I did watch the season premiere with a friend lastnight and loved it. I introduced my friend to the series yesterday and now she's hooked and can't wait for the next episode!
I don't understand the people having problems with character development. Would you rather see bland, shallow characters just fighting zombies non stop every week? This is an intelligent show, and I think season 2 has been excellent so far. The books and the show are about the survivors, not the zombies. The author has said that the idea of the books was to show what happens to the characters after the zombie movie is over.
I've not got a problem with character development as such, what's annoying me is all the open ended sub plots still going. Sophia missing for 5 episodes now is dragging on. What happened to Merle? The whole love triangle with Rick,Shane and Lori. There needs to be some closure on these and new sub plots opened.
That aside it is by far the best thing on tv for me at the moment.
This may be obvious for some but I will put it out there anyway.
If you haven't kept up with TWD this season you can do it on Amazon, but for a price. You can buy one episode at a time or buy a TV pass for the whole season (at a discounted rate). It's not to expensive IMO. It told me it would be $17 for the HD TV pass. Not bad if you'd like to catch up now rather then waiting for season 2 to hit dvd.
Anyone know of a better way to watch all the current episodes?
Oh and I believe once you buy the episodes they are yours to download to where ever you like.

I don't know a better way to watch all of the current episodes. I do know that AMC is going to be doing a Walking Dead Season 2 marathon on Friday. I don't remember what time though.

Good deal. I haven't seen the show but after reading this thread I want to check it out, which is why I was looking around to see how I could watch the older episodes.
Agreed. The ending was a sucker punch. (another big deviation from the books) THIS is why character development is so important. Waiting until February for new episodes will be painful.

I had pretty much figured Sophie was dead, but it never occured to me she might be in the barn! what a plot twist!
I loved how it really made you conflicted about them shooting all of those walkers in the barn. At first, you're like "I don't care about the ones in the barn and they are a threat." but then... you see Sophia and then you understand how Hershel felt about the walkers in the barn.

So Hershal knew about Sophie the whole time and neglected to say anything?
They explained it on the after show that Hershel had made the comment that Otis was the one who brought the zombies back, and we all know what happened to Otis. So Hershel probably wouldn't have known.

I have read them all and I'm anxiously waiting for the next issue #94.
Personally, I prefer the graphic novels to the show. There's just so much more action. It's true the show at this point is doing it's own thing with the storyline but I don't think they could have done half of the things onscreen that are in the books. Could you imagine Carl shooting Shane back when they were outside of Atlanta? Will Rick get a hand chopped off? I doubt little Carl will ever get shot in the face on the show. There's plenty of harsh gritty events that happen in the books that more than likely never happen on the show.
The book's author has often said that no character is safe and he has held true to that tenfold. The show does a good job of filling in the gaps of the day to day stuff whereas the books, being a monthly release, skip over chunks of time.
Going by the books, the group leaves the farm and finds refuge in a prison. Things really hit the fan there but I can't see the show going in that direction.
As much as I prefer the books, I am looking forward to the show to start back up.

I think they are setting Merle up to show up as the Governor later on. And hopefully they bring in Michonne and her swords pretty soon. She is a badass! And I like how they are setting up what's-her-name to be the awesome sniper she becomes in the books.
I get a feeling that the group that was in town may come into play and delay the Rick/Shane fiasco for a few episodes at least. Perhaps something starts then that group shows up forcing the two of them to work together for a while long. It also comes to mind that perhaps they will stay true to the comics as to what finally happens to Shane or they may have him and Andrea split from the group and come into play later on...maybe Woodbury.

Word on the street is the actor playing Shane is moving to some other show Frank Darabaunt is working on. Might piss off some of those Team Shane folks.

Has enough time passed for us to talk about the latest episode? Did Rick do enough to put Shane in his place or is it true that a tiger can't change its stripes? What is going to become of Randall? There's only what, 3 episodes left? What kind of cliffhanger are you expecting for the finale?
i was sad to see sophia come out of the barn...
but i was half expecting it...
after the 3rd day missing... I was thought she was dead.. but was hoping there would be a happy ending. and when they found the barn... i suspected she was in there...
why is the only asian boy .. so lost all the time...

I don't think the show portrays how young and inexperienced he is as well as the graphic novels do. It seems the show's writers make him out to be weak and confused. Apart from Rick's character in the novels, I'd say Glenn is the most changed and developed character.

Nice site.
AMC will probably have marathons leading up to Season 3. Also, season 1 is on Netflix

One of the bigger things I noticed that they've changed is, in the show, Andrea and Michonne end up in Woodbury rather than Rick, Michonne and was it Glenn? That means no one handed Rick I guess.
What I want to know is will they end the season the same way the prison stay ended in the comic books. If they even go halfway I'll be impressed. Also, will there be the story of the few survivors in the prison when the group gets there?
Looking forward to the premier regardless. 3 weeks and eagerly counting.
Edit: Probably should get a Walking Dead season 3 started.
