He has never seen her, but has heard her name and voice, so I suspect he'd suspect. Also requires a huge coincidence, him meeting her again, given all of time and space (and he can't deliberately rescue her, because that's crossing his own timeline). And while the "he meets her in her past" theory was the first that came to mind, they've done that already, and it would leave a much darker future fate this time.
So my guess is that she'll manage her own escape, which would also seem consistent with her character, and possible now that she realises what her situation is. And I think that all of the elements needed were present in the story itself, including a solution to her current state.
Hadron pretty much summed it up, no "crossing the streams" as it were.
I do have to admit this episode seemed just plain silly after the promise that the show was going to be getting darker with the 11th doctor. It would have been a great Eccleston episode, maybe even Tennant, but it is to light hearted for the direction the series was supposed to be going.

Man I can't believe this wonderful thread was going on right underneath my nose I didn't even realize it!!!!! I have got to start paying better attention lol. Everyone who knows me knows that I am a Doctor Who fanatic......fangirl lol. I had never seen it until the show started back up with Eccleston. Then I would watch Red Dwarf the Doctor Who. When I learned the Eccleston was leaving the show I was so sad because I really like him and to this day I still think he was Fanstasic!! However by David's 2nd or 3rd episode I was hooked on his Doctor in a big way. I still am. I bawled and bawled like a big baby in The End of Time. um, actually I still do, I watch it about once a month lol. I also watch Time Crash at least once a week...the children's charity skit they did where David Tennant's Doctor meets Peter Davison's Doctor...(his father in law which I see y'all already discussed ) I love that and it makes me smile. I have just never been able to get that devoted to Matt Smith's acting. I think he's a really nice guy when I see him on talk shows and on things like The Nerdist but on one hand we had Tennant's acting and when he was sad you saw it in his entire body, the way he walked and slumped and the same thing when he was excited and happy, it radiated off of him. Matt Smith's Doctor seems like a kid in a cady shop all the time, just laa dee da, nothing too serious here. I've started going back and watching the classics there are some of those early ones though that are lost to us forever. When they were running out of storage space they started refilming over some of the previous episodes and those were the only copies there were. I get a lot of flak about this but I only speak my true thoughts when talking about this show I love so dearly. I am not a fan of the Doctors Baker. Either one of them. Well Colin Baker was just a friggin joke, seriously. I'm not a Tom Baker fan either. Now I don't know if that's because of what I've read about him in his later years pre judging him or not, I just know he's down there on my list of Doctors. I liked Pertwee and Troughton much better than Baker. I think had McGann been given a decent script or even a spot in the series he would been great.
Now, I read a book a month or so ago...it was from 2007 called Dalek I Loved You by Nick Griffiths from England. It's a memoir of him growing up with the Doctor in his life and how much that meant to him, he eventually got a job as a reporter over there for the Radio Times. He has been lucky enough to interview almost every Doctor, and all the companions. David Tennant wrote the forward to that book. It's only a couple bucks on Kindle. I'm now reading the follow up to it where he went along and snapped pics at the different locations they filmed Doctor Who, it's call Who Goes There and it has a companion website with it that shows the pics and then has a google map to it and I think it's really cool to take your little orange man and go down street level and it's like you are there too I went to his website after reading the first book and left him a comment...he commented back to me and now we chat a few times a week on his site and we follow each other on twitter. I said yeah, that's my claim to faim. I'm friends with a man who knows David Tennant. lol
I know I just rattled on, I apologize, I get that way when discussing something I love so much. Plus no one around me shares my love of the Doctor and I don't get to talk like this much. lol. Oh, one more thing before I shut my gob...favorite companions...of course I will say Rose how could I not?? I happened to like Donna though, maybe because I'm a lot like that in I don't take any crap off anyone haha. I didn't really care for Martha. I loved Sarah Jane Smith and I know a lot of people call Captain Jack a companion but I call those that had a regular steady part a companion. I loved Captain Jack and I loved him in Torchwood, but I don't consider him a companion. Least favorite....Adric bahahahaha...yuk. Also even though I consider Blink my all time favorite Who episode ever, I prefer RTD writing over Moffat's. Um, isn't it funny how we all love Blink so much and yet the Doctor is barely even in it.
Thank you all so very very much for this thread and I love you all simply for your love of the Doctor. Next time I will try to not write a book
As someone who has never seen the show, but would like to....would it be best for me to start with the old series? Or would the more recent one be alright? I don't want to jump in, and watch something from the middle, and be incredibly lost like I was watching well....Lost

The BBC Wales Doctor Who is meant to be able to be watched and followed independent of the originals. So you will be fine to jump in with Eccleston (the 9th Doctor).
Most people always regard their first Doctor as their favorite and I would not recommend 9 as a first, he is a good Doctor but I've never thought he truly embodied really who Doctor Who is. I would suggest (if you can deal with 70s and 80s scripts and special effects) watching some of Tom Baker's 4th Doctor.

I have heard that many many times, your first Doctor is your favorite Doctor. That's not how it happened with me, although there will always be a soft place for Eccleston and he is one of my favorites. I always love revisiting his shows. Does anyone else here use the TSF Shell launcher?? You know how you always have your little icon bases to choose from on the themes? I had wanted to start a Doctor Who theme and put a TARDIS and Dalek maybe a K-9 as the icon bases...then I found out my brain cancer had come back and chemo is kicking my hiney...so maybe after I get through stomping it back into oblivion like i did 7.5 yrs ago I might see about that again.
I'm so sorry about your cancer, I lost my mom to it in 2008.
Back on topic, I'm pretty sure my theme team can hook you up with more eyecandy from Gallefrey. What is your phone model, and what rom is on it? At the very least I may be able to recook my CM9 theme to work for you....

Whoohoo! I didn't mean to ignore the last few days...I just got caught up in a book. I am the perpetual nerd. lol. Right now I'm using the LG Connect 4G with the BlackPlague ROM. I was using BrokenOut but there is a lot more developer interaction with BlackPlague. Playfulgod said he's working on CM10 for us but he is so busy with other projects as well as what he's doing for us I don't know how long it will be.
I saw this survey on Facebook the other day so I'll ask y'all the same question...do you like the series split like it is this time or prefer to have the 13 run week to week? ( I would prefer there to be a new show every single dang week!!) lol

If you're on Facebook and you don't know about this page I would like to share it with y'all. It's called Doctor Who and the Tardis by Craig Hurle . If you just mosey on over there and LIKE the page then you will get neat pics and info about the show, actors, writers and such a lot of times before anyone else does. I always know things before my dingdong brother. I've got a lot of my cool wallpapers from those posts. He has some neat videos on his page also.

This series is split because they're trying to put the 1/2 half of the series along with the start of the next series and the 2013 Christmas Special all together for the 50th anniversary and ...
a regeneration.

Yes I read that and my source across the pond said
there isn't anything for sure about a christmas regeneration. which is what i had heard and asked him about. i'm talking about nick griffiths the guy who wrote dalek i loved you and has interviewed all the doctors and companions..and writers. in fact he's the one who wrote the article about david ten inch......*smh
I like to change wallpapers when I change roms, last time I wondered what the time vortex looked like from the outside, and Google was my friend so I found this...
I think Raselon would be ok with it.
Which, speaking of weeping angels, clearly he created them in the episode where Tennant bought it, and I couldn't get over the eye contact with that one woman - was that the Doctor's momma?
Ok, it's official - the Christmas Special Doctor Who was not only best one ever, but finally, it looks like the Doctor is finally back. And the Tardis is finally right again!

I liked the Christmas Special a lot.
We've known it has been coming for a while and I enjoyed the Matt Smith Doctor/Amy & Rory stuff, but it's been time to move on from that for a while. I'm glad it's finally happening.
I'm getting the wife up to speed with the Doctor. We've been watching it on Netflix and we're up to Martha's second episode. I haven't seen any episodes since the Impossible Astronaut because we ditched cable in favor of Netflix. Does Hulu have newer episodes? I'm considering getting that too...

I don't have Huluplus, I just use the free version & it doesn't have Who at all. The episodes are pretty cheap on Amazon instant video only like $1.89 I think & then you own it forever. Only you can just watch it on Amazon instant video

I thought last night's episode was a big step up from the previous week, and the best of this season so far. Was also nice to see Clara realising that this isn't a game, and being a lot less sure of herself. My congrats to Mr Gatiss
A few thoughts on the series so far. Although I won't go into details will still contain spoilers, so only unhide if you've seen the episodes.
Episode One:
The first episode definitely had its moments, but some obviously unnecessary scenes, and overall to me it fell short of Moffat's earlier openers (The Eleventh Hour, The Impossible Astronaut, Asylum of the Daleks). A few intriguing hints at Clara's "impossible" history - waiting to see how that develops.
Episode Two:
The second episode? The main threat didn't impress me at all, but that was much more forgiveable than a series of phoney threats that occupied much of the episode, made no sense once the main threat was revealed and indeed were forgotten once their purpose was served. Most series have a duff episode somewhere, so I hope this was it.
Episode Three:
So last night was much better. Straightforward, claustrophobic, personal and yet with (much) larger implications. Clara realising the reality of what they are doing. Visual references to Alien. And little, unremarked scenes humanising the harsh cold warrior who could otherwise have been a simple villain.

I grew up with Tom Baker and pretty much stopped watching it when Sylvester McCoy took on the mantle. I started again with the new series with Chris Ecclestone and David Tenant but after watching The Impossible Astronaut, I realised I don't like Matt Smith's portrayal at all. I've not watched any of them since then.
I've not liked a lot about Smith, but the alternative was no Doctor, so I've grown used to him, and there have been some very good episodes.
My first Doctor was Tom Baker as well. Didn't grow up with him, had to wait for it to hit our shores. Hated Pertwee for quite a while but eventually got to liking him.
BTW, I was ok with the second episode this season. I liked the character development.

I have to agree with Hadron somewhat.
Hide tags just in case.
First episode was lacking a lot IMO. It was okay and had some good moments but, overall a bit of a let down.
Second was okay, I did really like the end. I would agree with it not feeling like a serious threat. But the Doctor's and Clara's speeches that saved the day were great.
Third episode was the best so far. What I like to see from the series.
Overall, I am liking this companion a lot so far (but that might just be because I was getting sick of the Ponds). It will be interesting to see how the "She's not possible" stuff works out.
It took a bit for me to warm up to Matt Smith, but I do like him in the role. I like Clara as a companion, certainly much better than Donna (I never liked her...)

I am enjoying the monthly specials on all the incarnations of the Doctor. I think they are some great introductions to the original run of the show for folks that have only experienced the new stuff.
As far as the latest episode, it was fun but the ending felt really cheap to me. In fact, seemed like a bit of a throwaway episode for the most part (as far as the series story arc). I guess I'm mostly ambivalent about it.
Never really got into the Doctor before Eccleston. I liked him a lot. Then I really enjoyed Tennant. And I've grown to like Smith.
Rose is my favorite companion. Amy and Martha are next. Donna is last.
And I like the original theme from Tennant's series the best.
Haven't seen any of the latest series ... yet. I know I have some on DVR. Lost some too when the DVR had to be replaced sometime back. So I need to catch up on the current series.
