I agree with Yeahha and Early partly
DDR had a nice story ,Hyorinmaru is the most fascinating zanpaktou .But the fight sequence looks like a video game .(Spiderman ,the kiddie game ,Mysterio's level ).Also deja vu Naruto vs Sasuke moment when Toshiro and Kusaka clased (Not that I didnt like it ).
While Fade to Black started slow and vague but the story caught up and was certainly interesting (but still vague )
Fourth movie was just a visual treat .Hell is awesome .
It is sometimes annoying that Kyoraku(Favorite character ) only uses physical attacks with his shikai . (Lets not even talk about why he never uses his bankai )

I just wanted to start an anime thread .
So I spent the last day or so (when I wasn't watching football) watching all 37 episodes of Death Note. Not bad, makes me want to read the manga (yet another for my list)
I rather enjoyed watching an anime that when it was over actually seemed like it was over unlike Elfen Lied and Soul Eater.
I've got black butler on my need to read list but haven't got to it yet. I've got about 400 more chapters of one piece before I start on something else...

I'm just watching the anime, not the manga right now.
Luckily for me, I spend lots of time in Tokyo, so I can visit the manga cafes.
That way I don't have to buy the comics and store it at home...
One piece can be a problem because there are way too many chapters out now.
I keep forgetting how far i read.
Yes, today Naruto had a good chapter, compared to last weeks. I love the personality Kurama is showing now. "Do you need some chakra?" "really?" "Yeah I like to see you fight"
yeah they could have ended the series there without many issues plus the time between then and when ichigo became the lead again was way too long. I heard rumors there is supposed to be a big arc coming up next so we will see. I hope it doesn't get canceled or put on hiatus and gets a chance to wrap up everything
To me, it looked like it cut right to the chase - outstanding imagery, immediately telegraphed character relationships and development potential, and aroused interesting questions.
In a sense, it reminded me of the opening in Snow Crash - you're already savvy to this world, here's the advanced story.
And how often do you see a bad story involving the Tokugawa shogunate?
For all the cool story lines and swishing action ,animes have a strong reference to the old folklore . Journey to the west and the ten sanadas are two such books who recur quite commonly . You will see Son-Goku or Sasuke Sarutobi references many a times here and there >_> <_<

I once saw an episode of Siskell & Ebert where they explained that a cartoon is also a form of movie, with many disconnects from reality, just as animated cartoons feature.
SWJ isn't animated but is definitely a cartoon, the sort Vincent Price would call, "deliciously violent." I don't think you'll be disappointed, and I think after you see it, you'll somehow see why I am recommending it here.
Regarding One Piece...
My mom's staff had a One Piece themed wedding.
Instead of having their bows in front of a priest or whatever, they signed Ruffy's hat.
The also had a presentation about how they grew up, how they met etc, and it all had One Piece slides here and there.
not to mention the treasure hunt and Ruffy and Nami wedding cake.

FYI, this happened in Japan, and they are " non religious" so its not uncommon to get crazy weddings there.
I don't know, maybe if it was a full on cosplay wedding party then it's funny and fun. But anime themed is tough.

Lol I'm on chapter 500 now the writer had to plan on some things years in advance I am always impressed when parts of the plot come together after 3 major arcs and 300 some chapters

If you are reading the sbs corner after some chapters the people who write in are quite creepy sometimes

The reason I avoided one piece is I watched one episode anime some six years.
Buggy vs Luffy didnt appeal me and I mistook it for one of those wacky kiddie stuff .(a clown and a rubber guy !! ?? !! )

Agreed I tried to watch some of the anime and couldn't get thru it. Its really bad when there is a male character with a female voice.

Considering croco thrashed luffy twice already ,I think he is pretty strong . He is smart too .
It will be an even match but gaara has a slight edge I think .
