I started to say the same thing. I would opt for the ship because everything being mentioned here, is there. And you can time travel, replicate anything you need, you have medical help and repair facilities that people might need if they were given a hoverboard or light saber in this day and age.
You have people to teach you about the history of the cosmos and the ability to go where you want. You can forget about needing money (or lottery numbers) to get by. You can even come back to 2012 and park over the White house and drive the planet insane.
You can beam up Obama and tell him a thing or two. You can stun entire cities and just generally become a pest.
The girls are plentiful and perhaps some of that Romulin Ale is on tap.
Keep in mind that the movies are fake so the devices you all want do not work because they are just props. I think a better title would be: "if you could pick 1 WORKING gadget from any movie, what would it be?"
No change that title to "if you could pick any WORKING gadget from any movie and you had the replacement parts, an instruction video on YouTube and tech support, what would it be?"

I'd like a hoverboard (Back to the Future) myself.
Naw, you will fall off the thing and damage your spine. Forget the hoverboard and sell the technology to the government. Or also ask for one of Dr. McCoys automatic bone healer dealy-O's
Better yet, sell the tech to Apple so they can create ihoverPads. Apple has more cash than the government.
People, for God's sakes think about your requests and understand that you need technical support, replacement parts, the required technical knowledge and power sources.
What about the batteries? Did any of you ask for spare batteries or a recharger?
Things go wrong and some of you need to account for the problems that will occur. You will end up killing yourself or being disappointed when your cool tech dies.
Think with your brains people.

I would replicate sh!tloads of batteries - maybe even some dilithium crystals and all the replacement parts I could need. obviously I would replicate my replicator.

I was going to say the Necronomicon Ex-Mortus from Evil Dead, but then I thought, well, I'd probably end up releasing a host of evil spirits upon myself. And that would be a bummer. And I might get sent back in time. Which could also be a bummer. On the plus side, I'd likely have some crazy stories.
But I think Early and Bob hit it right on with the Enterprise. Especially if it was loaded with a crew.

How about the box from Hellraiser or the ball from Phantasm lol?

Bad idea, I should think. After all, we know how that turned out.
I am sticking with The Enterprise. And Early will be the science officer or he can be the captain for all I care. I just want to live there and play with the Holodeck.

The holodeck would be pretty awesome. Something I've never understood, does the floor of the holodeck move like a treadmill so they don't walk into a wall?
Also, you have their cool food machines - I can't remember what they are called.
"Computer, I'd like some pizza, make it so."
By definition that does not fall into the category of gadget. It would be perfect if the thread was If You Could Pick 1 Piece Of Technology From Any Movie, What Would It Be?

ingenious device: a small device that performs or aids a simple task
trivial device: a small device that appears useful but is often unnecessary or superfluous
All high technology I've ever seen in most of action movies like Mission Impossible, Transformer, Men In Black, The Avengers etc are using touch screen technology.
I like in "I Robot" when they use technology for parking car and automate car driving and in "The Avengers".
It's soooo cooolll... imagine how if implemented in the real world
