I think Hugo is the winner for me. I know critics loved it, but it bombed at the box office.
It was a terrific family movie, great acting, and directed by Martin Scorcese (hope I spelled that correctly).
I got one for you. I haven't even seen it yet and it's already getting bad reviews from both critics and viewers. Abraham Lincoln: vampire assassin ok so soneone made a movie that pretty much shows what the title says. Give the movie a go. Why not go spend your money on this instead some bs movie that is total shit called twilight. Abraham Lincoln has always got a bad wrap over the ages. Can you explain why he's on penny? A coin the people always simply toss away if they had a choice between a penny and a nickle.hmmmmmmmmm conspiracy? I say yes!!!!!! Anyways! The movie looks interesting to me and yes i will go see it.
True Romance. Never understood why that movie wasn't a huge hit. Check out out if you haven't seen it. Also, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is genius.
I love Pan's Labyrinth but I think it got high reviews. Now if you had asked about OVER appreciated movies I could come up with a lot. Twilight comes to mind. Oh, I love Game of Thrones as well, haven't seen second season but have heard there's some dramatic differences from the books. Again still not answering what you've really asked but brain is blank.

I remember that movie. Nick Frost voiced one of the characters.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. The critics loved it, but almost everyone that I've talked to has passed on the movie for the fact that Jim Carrey is playing a serious role. He was amazing in it!

A surprising number of stars in this underrated movie - Nicole Kidman, Paul Bettany, Lauren Bacall, John Hurt (narrator voice over), James Caan. It's a strange one to start with, as the set is comprised of white lines drawn on a black floor so it looks like a blueprint of a town, with invisible walls and doors that actors mime opening and closing. Very visually weird, but after about ten minutes the story takes over and you no longer notice the visual 'gimmick'.
But the story is so good. I think it's Kidman's best role ever. The plot starts off unassuming and innocent seeming and then gets so dark...
... and the ending... OMG! but I wouldn't want to give it away.
I would go so far as to call it a masterpiece.

That movie was too weird for me, and I usually like weird movies. It was more like a filmed play. Maybe I should go back and watch it again, give it another chance. It's been a long time since I watched that one.
Just watched "Sunshine" again and was reminded what a great movie it is. Directed by Danny Boyle, it didn't get much commercial attention, though it did get good reviews. It should be considered a science-fiction classic up there with the Alien movies.
Yes, and also his first movie, Bad Taste - Peter Jackson is even one of the actors, it is so low budget!
But Braindead beats it... the lawnmower scene... unbelievable
Hah! Funny you should mention Bad Taste, I had a bit of a text quoting spree with my friend today when he mentioned he was watching it. Both these films are brilliant, but Braindead is my favourite and I love every bit of it. ESPECIALLY the lawnmower scene

Reason: Typo
My favorite bit from Braindead would be the park scene with the baby. I love the bum raising his brown bag to the child abuse.
I love the priest's lines, they are some of the best in the movie.
"The devil's work is afoot."
"It's time for divine intervention."
"I kick arse for the Lord."
