Everybody Hate Chris is the only one of these that might be considered a short lived canceled show. Seinfeld, Full House, and Fresh Prince all had really long runs.

Except that Everybody Hates Chris ran until Chris Rock felt it was finished. He said there was no more to be said.

Life : Ony 2 seasons.
Damian Lewis as a cop who found Zen while in prison partnered with

I loved Life. It was a really good season. However, the series finale sucked.
House and JAG were good a well.

one of the BEST cancelled shows of ALL-TIME
It had potential, I'm not sure why they did cancel it...it was always fun watching Charlie being behind in technology.

Any American show that features a Brit eating a can of imported Heinz Baked Beans is definitely a keeper for me
(Expat Brits over here will probably understand me here - the significance of this may be lost to native born Americans
)

Let's see (in no particular order):
FlashForward
John Doe
Nowhere Man
Tru Calling
Terra Nova
Awake
DH would add The Event, which I gave up on (too cutesy-gimmicky-artsy with the nested flashbacks to bother telling a coherent story, IMO).

Firefly
Defying Gravity
Flash Forward
Dollhouse
Tru Calling
Legend of the Seeker
V (2009)
Shows are cancelled so quickly that sometimes they are cancelled before I even get to watch an episode.

I'll also add in
Lone Star , which lasted all of two episodes on FOX before it was canceled, but it seemed like an interesting premise.

I agree with others about Firefly aswell.
I have since watched the Firefly season and agree. Watched Serenity too. Saw it years ago and thought it was "meh". Watching it when I Should after FF was much better.
Also not so much cancelled as "run it's course" but I am STILL missing BSG.

There was a one-off, called "The Plan" which ran alongside the BSG series. It elaborated on both sides of the story but certainly showed a lot more from the Cylon PoV... Given it's about their plan

Me, too. I discovered it half way through the second season when I could not sleep one night. I finished watching the second season and the reruns of the first half. I then bought the DVD of the first season. There was a fan movement to get it to continue, but it was not successful.
Another show that I loved that got cancelled after one season was a series called End Game. It was about a Russian chess master (Akardi Balagan) with agoraphobia. He is trapped in a hotel in Vancouver after his wife was murdered and is unable to leave. He ends up solving crimes and mysteries to pay his hotel bill. He is aided by a young student and chess player, the hotel maid and bartender who do all the footwork outside of the hotel, as Balagan cannot leave due to his phobia. It's a little like Nero Wolf.
I caught it half way through the season and ended up finishing it via the ShowCase web site.

Just stumbled across this thread and to my surprise I find I am not alone in missing Sci-Fi programs. The recent ones I miss are The Event, Heroes, Stargate SG1 and dozens more. It seams these days that Reality shows take priority over syfi and comedy.
When I grew up in the 70's there was always these shows on between 7.00 and 9.00pm now its soaps. Perhaps there will be a swing around like fashion.

Another Firefly fan here. The show was brilliant.
Some other cancellations that disappointed me include Defying Gravity, Flash Forward, and Dollhouse.

Every TV writer in America went on strike for like 6 months. Heroes was never the same.

I watched a series called Space-above and beyond when i was younger that i thought was brilliant,
Just checked it out on wiki again and watched the intro on youtube, is not as good as i have it in my head but the story seems as good as i remember it,
Anyone else ever see it?

Firefly - Great concept!
Star Trek - A show way ahead of it's time.
Magnum P.I. - I am a huge Tom Selleck fan.
News Radio - Funny as hell.
Third Watch
Emergency 51 was actually just called Emergency. The squad they were in was #51

Firefly of course.
United States of Tara was awesome, a Showtime show that was cancelled before the 4th season. They are all on netflix streaming but ended too soon.
another series on netflix is Survivors a post apocalyptic show by BBC that ended too soon and with a big cliff hanger in the 2nd season (series) and then was cancelled.
