I liked the Transformers :Unicron Trilogy(Armada,Energon,Cybertron) and loving Transformers Prime ...
I have read only the Drift part of the comics .

Transformers Prime is getting better day by day with Iacon relics and Alpha Trion introduced ...

I have not seen the entire G1 to comment really (i barely remember it )

Michael Bay movies are very bad .

i agree they are horrible im in the middle of reading the marvel comics and "the war within" both very good also the G.I. JOEs with transformers was excellent

I did read GIJoes transformer .Didnt appeal to me much honestly .(Cant remember it)

Drift is good ,Drift is originally a renegade decepticon who sided the group who were neither autobots or decepticons ..He is the only transformer who doesn't carry a gun .Three swords ..Two short and one special energon sword
He joins Autobots eventually but the story is quite good ..It has the part where why robots joined the cons and how Megatron has a good purpose in the beginning .

Which bots take part in the battle within ?
I honestly try to avoid bumblebee if at all possible ..

the battle within takes place during the civil war before Optimus and megatron went to earth grimlock and the autobots (all of them) and all the decepticons

Transformers Prime has flashback of the life before the war ...when Optimus was Orion Pax ,archivist of Iacon library .

Maybe will read it sometime in future ..

Transformers Prime is a cartoon not a comic book
it's currently in season 2 ....Very interesting ,it's a three way battle ,Autobots ,Decepticons and Starscream

Well it is awesome ...the twist at the end of season 1 was great .
Starscream is a different character ,instead of ambitious but loyal decepticon ,he is a Machiavellian manipulator and comic relief ..

'Darkness Rising' or 'Masters and Students' ?
Darkness Rising is five part prequel to the season 1 ...

My only complaint of TF Prime is that, no JetFire or an aerial Autobot .I hope the next season has it ..

Transformers the Movie is one of my favourite movies of all time,

Recently downloaded the HD re-animated version
The level of detail and artwork in it is just unreal.

And its the version where spike swears

I agree about the Michael Bay movies,
They do have there good parts in each one that i enjoy but on a whole they are all disappointing.
I recently read that the fourth transformers movie is going to have almost a completely new set of robots just because they want to be able to sell new toys!
