nowadays there are a number of smarphones with a more powerfull engine, but they aren't better phones, if you consider the phone's feature globally.

I don't care about theoretical things like the clock speed ram, etc. What I want is a good responsive phone which wont hung on me when i needed. Also battery is important for me , as i am a heavy user 2-3hrs of call and some browsing.For that aspect when comparing in actual usage situations a789 wins. But as I said DFSA is more important for me.

Do you think it may be possible to use a data only SIM (on 3 network in UK), in the SIM2 slot for data use only? I have tried to do this and when I try to select network it tells me this is not allowed with this SIM (because voice and SMS are active as well?). I have no idea why the networks block stuff like this. I could use a mifi hotspot with this SIM and connected my ZTE U960 to it and use the data the same.... I would rather use the phone as a mifi hotspot so I do not have to carry 2 device around with me......anyone know if there is a solution to this? 2 IMEI numbers? Can I switch off voice/SMS on SIM2 slot? Use IMEI from a device that is a data only device???

these phone are dsds so for my usage are not better then the u960...
the v970 miss also the front camera so you cannot do videocall...

It's surely a good phone, with better resolution and a more powerfull gpu.

But is not the successor of the U960, its more like a successor of the V889.

Likely the only viable alternative to the u960 is the samsung GT-B9062 but that phone looks more like an u960 clone rather than a way better phone.

Some people complained they have problems with local numbers - need to save 2 numbers at the phonebook. I had the same problem with one card. One provider ensures international format, one provider doesn't ensure.
To avoid this problem use Prefixer -http://www.253below.com/prefixer.
I don't know why, but it starts work when I put rules from prefixer's forum.

It's some kind of scam, they know all about it but have been doing it for close to a year now. They will give you the refund but you have to ship the wrong battery back to them first at your expense.

My U960 had a cracked screen after I drop it and move my bike on it :-|
Replacement screen only at etotalk for $100.

So I decided I'm going to buy a new phone, mainly because I'm not satisfied with U960: touch screen is not so sensible, lags when using some programs, even typing with swype.

I've read this Z970 review and it seems nice for me, even it's not DSFA, what I really need is to be able to receive calls on both lines when I have active data connection (SIM2).
Front camera is not as essential as notification led.
"When data is used, both sim’s is online and can receive calls, as with MT6575." ---> Does anybody know if it is really real???

You may have to tweak your settings in Symantec to offer you the option to allow, quarantine or delete a file or program if it suspects it to be a hack or a danger to your system. Look at the quarantined items in Symantec if it is there. If it is, there should be an option to let Symantec overlook it.

No. I receive calls with international numbers also. May be it is not convinient, when I receive call, it is shown in simple format and in international format (both formats at the same time). If I see call history, I see the international format only.

I copied the rule from prefixer forum and placed it in my phone. I can't explain more. I may export a rule and place it . I placed the rules in attachment. They are for my country -Latvia. Previously, as I curently remember, they was for Sweeden.

I changed the format of file for uploading to *.txt. the format need be *.pfx to import to the Prefixer.

But we haven't 8 at beginning as Russia or 0 as Sweeden.

I can't say anything about messages. It was not actual for me. All my messages are from contacts.

What means this and how to repair:


When I try adb it is shown "adb server out of date..." busybox read-only.
I can't receive root rights and recover recovery.

It happens after http://www.zte.com.cn/cndata/mobile/software/201209/P020120920525021761788.zip. I forgot to replace RF fail and when try to repeat but during repeating the process stopped on 54%.

My problem is resolved.I found the service which doesn't send me to Singapure. The master created individual script and put new soft. I asked to use the version of Solutor. The master said it is interesting and attractive very much.

Now after a recent update of the application I am getting insufficient memory error while installing and it is aborted. In my devise memory only 454mb used, 554mb is free.

Is here anybody, who uses the stereo bluetooth? Are You use any programm? I ask because it seems the phone doesn't provide the stream through the stereo headset microphone..
I previously had this problem on WM, I used teksoft, but this program has so terrible connection message on connection and others who called me heared it and didn't understood why I use it.

Play store 3.8.17 working well over wifi, maybe you forget to remove the temp fix when we all had problems with play store?

Also you can try to clear data on play store in application management.

I had this error previously. I didn't remember which rom was it. I used sysappremover to restore app from backup and than all was o.k. Look permissions in root explorer also.

Hello,

Please make sure that you know that etotalk is a company of crappy beggars.

After the SIM1 problem didn't get resolved, I sent the phone back after their salesman told me that I will get a full refund via paypal (his name was king).

So I sent the phone back at MY COSTS and after it arrived there they told me that I will not get any refund at all. In their lab the phone works and the only possibility I have is to choose another phone. After (not lying) over 10 attempts of telling them that I need a DSDA phone and the U960 doesnm't work in germany on some service providers they STILL don't understand me.

They are a huge bunch of profit-orientated bas***ds.

Here in Germany such a seller would be sued so much and hard that he would never mess up with his customers again.

So my question to you all: Do somebody needs a brand new ZTE U960 or another phone from etotalk?

I would tell them that they have to ship it directly to you.
Payments would be made via Paypal and I would offer a 10% discount on what you would buy there.

Please help me, I lost alot of money and credit loans on this damn phone which is useless for me.

I'm using Cattys 2B07 Rom and kernel

When Skype starts, i can hear the camera initializing but cannot get incoming/outgoing video calls to work.

I also tried the modded Skype version on XDA but same results

any ideas ?
