Default HTC magic OTA update

I am new to Android. In fact, I have just got myself a HTC magic yesterday. I am very thrill over this.

My HTC magic does not feature "Over-the-air" update. How do I update my firmware if there exist one ? Do I download it over HTC website?

If Google releases next version of the Android OS, will my HTC magic be eligible to upgrade? Or only next generation android phones are eligible for the upgrade?

I have heard that HTC Sense will not be available to G1/G2 that are "Google" branded. How do I know my G2 is Google-branded? I have the "htc" word imprinted at the backcover of my phone.

Please advise. Thanks.

First Welcome to the forums!

and yes you will get updates OTA the way it works is your phone will prompt you if you want to update then just let it do it's thing....

if you root it will not matter what your phone is branded you can add sense...

I am contemplating on buying an unlocked htc magic or hero from ebay or amazon an international version of the phones or otherwise. I am currently on at&t's US iphone 3g network and I was wondering if I would receive android updates ota or over wifi? This would be a deal breaker for me. Has anyone purchased an unlocked htc magic of any kind from ebay or amazon and received the updates over wifi or ota?

Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated. What I asked on my previous post would be a deal breaker for me. Also would I get the updates on an unlocked t-mobile mytouch 3g? I also have a question about the hero. Which carrier in the US might get the htc hero? I have heard that sprint might get it. When is at&t going to release their android phone?
