Hi All,

I was on US Cell website last night and saw customer survey. I filled out expressing displeasure with Froyo 2.2 for the Desire. Serv rep called me back this morning to find out why i was unhappy.

Now the projected date is the of Jan.

That's funny. I called US Cellular today and they told me that software updates are not and will not be provided by US Cellular and that I should contact HTC. I think the person I spoke with had no clue what I was talking about. They transferred me to technical support and I got the same answer again.

Anyone know where on the website the updates will be posted? This phone doesn't have an option to check for OTA updates. (Any idea if the update will enable OTA for the future updates?)

So what's the procedure when the time comes? I'm guessing it's not automatic...

It will be on the HTC website under the Desire handset for USCC, it will have to be downloaded and then installed via HTC sync. Should be there by the end of this month

If you're frustrated, be happy you aren't with ATT and have a Captivate.

Samsung stated "by October" then "by the end of the year" then "soon". Meanwhile, ATT has said zero (officially).

I trust US Cellular a lot more at this point.

Today my friend told me U.S. Cellular announced they were moving up the release of fryo for the Samsung Mesmerize. Has anybody else heard this or have a link confirming this?

Default does voice dial over blue tooth work now?

Updated to 2.2 on the desire, HTC said I would be able to use voice commands over the blue tooth but I still get the error message that it is not supported by this device. Any work arounds out there? I can't be fumbling with the phone in the car. Is this a us cellular issue or an issue with the desire?

OK, had froyo for one day now (installed at USCC store)and I think I've got a minor issue. After running for a while the phone is now only showing e-mails and texts in the horizontal position and turning the phone vertical does not rotate the image. When it locks in that position I can shut the phone off and restart it and it works correctly for a little while and then locks into the horizontal layout. Anyone having the same issue and anyone found a fix yet?

It's official. I have a problem with auto rotate on my desire after an update to froyo by a USCC tech. I will have to take the phone back in tomorrow and see if they can fix it by re-installing the froyo update. Gotta go through about 4 hours of work getting the phone back to my setup then. What a pain in the butt. It took US Cellular six months to get the update out and it still has problems.
