For those of you with the gmail notification issue where it simple does not sync, we are working on the problem. A workaround for the time being is to use k9 mail. We hope to have this issue solved soon(It's really irritating us.).

Vmanisme..
I went ahead and removed that post which contained the download link for drellisdee's newest recovery version. It seemed like he only intended for it to be seen by my eyes, so in the future, please PM me stuff like that.

The gmail sync issue has been fixed and will be working in the next version of Velocity. We have been working on a fix for days, flashed countless alphas, and there were many late nights.

Now the real work begins.

Look for an update SOON.

I'm here if you guys ever need a phone to brick! Totally willing to help with debugging work.

Edit: Do you guys plan on using drellisdee's kernel, by the way? Probably too late for 0.2, eh?

I'll contact you if we need the help, thanks.

It's not too late at all. I'm actually completely rebuilding 0.2 as we speak. We'll evaluate the kernel and include it if we deem necessary.

Great rom I love it, has anyone had any problems with skyfire running the flash videos? I was just having problems playing any videos. I tried to remove and reinstall the app and same thing. Can anyone verify this? If so can we possibly get a fix in the next release or two thanks guys.

Android 2.1 won't run flash. Have to wait for 2.2, and unless the device is overclocked as well, flash will be very slow.

You right to an extent, skyfire is built with a flash player. It will play quite a few flash videos including sites like justin.tv I had it working before rooting and adding a rom. Thats why I just wanted someone to recreate the problem so we can find a fix until foryo comes out.

I'm not going to speak for Trident here, but personally I dont think so, it would be like a second birthday if it was though. His 0.1.1 ROM is already making this phone a lot snappier so thank him there. Makes you think how much LG's dev's really care about the phone.

Everyone bashes the ally like it's a bad device, but it's got the same clock speed as the droid.

And no, velocity v0.2 will not be froyo. We've got plans for that tho.

v0.2 will be a speed increase(again) and a bug fix. as well as numerous other changes i'm not at liberty to state.

I believe we are in the final stages of testing, keep up with us on twitter @bowens532 and @kinetica

Yeah but the Ally doesn't have dedicated RAM or GPU which makes it kinda slower. I'm sure it would be as good or better than the Droid if it had at least its own GPU.

@vmanisme: Hell, the droid is propably bettter performance-wise, but the Ally's keyboard is way better, in my opnion.

@RedFury: You're awesome. Enough said. Trident's okay too, I guess.

That is exactly why I didn't get the Droid and got the Ally, I've never seen a phone with a better keyboard.

Define 'did not go well'... Did something terrible happen, or do you just expect porting to take much longer than you thought?

The point of roms is to get rid of the default bulk and speed the system up. You realize you can download apps from the market right?

Not sure what to tell you but to help out someone who can you might want to include what recovery you used. Also your phone isn't bricked if you get passed the LG screen.

1. Do a battery pull
2. Immediately power up the device by holding the call, menu, and end buttons until you see the LG screen
3. You will now be booted into the recovery menu
4. No wipe your data. cache, and Dalvik cache
5. Reapply my ROM
6. Reboot
7. Enjoy!

Velocity V0.2 is still under development, I promise. I've done so much, yet the to do list is still very long. I'm pretty close to removing the alpha tag and upgrading it to beta after I get a few more things done. I don't wanna give too much away because I want it all to be a surprise.

Anyways, I'll leave you with a few screen shots to drool over while I finish up..

Did you port over the android widget guy from froyo or is that build actually froyo? (I know it probably isn't froyo but it doesn't hurt to ask.)

I just cant stay away. Velocity is my new drug and I keep coming back for another fix. I keep checking the forums and ROM Manager hoping to find a new update.

BTW...more than willing to help out with testing.

I'd say it'd take maybe a week or two at the most to come up with a stable version.

excited to see what trident has in store in 0.2, although I must admit I'm a little bit more elated by the news that 2.2 will be coming to the Ally sometime this year. Hopefully 0.2 will support apps2sd better than the current version, or the vanilla 2.2 upgrade may be the way to go. If it were me coding this kernel I definitely wouldn't want to be adding features that will be made redundant by years end.

Velocity doesn't have apps2sd at all. Maybe it will in 0.2, I don't know, but I've heard people say that it's unreliable. I've never had any problems with it personally, though.
