Update to 0.1.1 successful. I have one issue that's more of a preference. I'm not a fan of how the browser auto fits the page to the screen size. Settings within browser do not fix said issue. Other than that, an excellent update.
Edit: still can not update maps. It says incompatible update.

The battery changes from 100% > 80% > 60% > 40% > 20% > 10% > 0%. It's not stuck.. just how android works.

Maps isn't even installed anymore though? You have to install it yourself.
When we tested the ROM, we were able to install Google Maps just fine..
Anyone else seeing this issue?
If this issue continues, there are a few courses of action that I can take.
Google Maps got removed when I flashed the ROM, I was able to download it from the market but when I open it it'll say that it was unable to log-in but it still works.

Then I'm thinking that GRZLA needs to reflash the ROM and wipe their data/cache.
Trying to update to the maintenance patch, but it says I'm up to date. Any ideas? Still got the wallpaper bug here. Otherwise, GREAT ROM!
Yeah.. having some problems with the OTA functionality. Will talk with Koush about it..
Manually go into my ROM Manager listing and download it, please.

Went into the settings under application and uninstalled what looked to be a corrupted google maps. After that, it installed fine. To log in hit the menu button and go to more. It will ask you to login.

Oh yeah, I remember uninstalling Google Maps from the applications settings! I guess that's why it worked for me lol.

These things will happen if you dont wipe data cache and dalvik cache before flashing. Please note in the ClockworkMod recov the option to clear dalvik cache is under ADVANCED
Don't be sorry! You are the one doing us all a favor with providing a nice rom.
Thanks!
I've got a lot of stuff that I'm already working to bring in version 0.2. I'd love to hear suggestions/requests of what you all would like to see though. Please post em here.

-Froyo
-Fix 50% bug
-Black notification bar
Also I want to report a bug, I'm on 0.1.1 and after installing any app from the marked I get a launcher2 force close
-Froyo Even if I'm able to get a Froyo port booting, it will be very, very, very buggy.
-Fix 50% bug I did some research last night and I'm not even sure that this exists. Have any information on it?
-Black notification bar I like it. Might do a black, transparent notification window too.

Yes I wiped data, and yes the bug exists there are many topics about it, and my phone lasts about 8 hours on light-medium use, do you think that its suppose to happen? Some people get 3 full days on heavy use with this phone. I will try to re-flash the phone because I didn't erase the dalvik cache that might be the issue. Here are some posts about the bug:
ALSO I GOT ANOTHER SUGGESTION FOR 0.2:::
When we click something on android 2.1 it gets highlighted/turns yellow can you change it to like dark blood red to match the Droid X buttons that are in this ROM, like when you click the app drawer arrow it turns blood red, can you do that for everything =D.

You might want to look into modifying the 928droid theme posted on here for your ROM. I installed the theme and it looks amazing. As for the 50% bug, I changed my settings from cdma auto prl to gsm/cdma auto prl and the bug seems to be non-existant. Make sure to not use data while roaming or you'll get a hefty bill.
I'll look at those links when I get home tonight. Thanks.
Lemme know if reflashing doesn't fix the launcher issue.
Reflashed ROM no more force close, gotta clear dalviks and data cache for ROM to work properly so you might want to tell this in the first post. But this is an epic ROM, if you ever visit Virginia Red Bull is on me!

I agree the glassy black notification really spruces it up.
All in all the one thing about this rom that should never be changed, and never gets old, is the droid wav notification that plays for everything. Now I just need to change my call notification to a repeating droid wav
Here is what your ROM looks like with MM AndroidGlass theme, I would like a transparent notification bar though that would be nice, and clock with white text.

Maybe you can port HTC Sense to the LG Ally for your 0.2??? That would be like a major upgrade, its been ported to the Moto Droid, it comes with black notification bar and the glossy looks so it'll be pretty nice
Really great ROM. Frees up tons of memory. Using LauncherPro with mine and its spiffy as hell. Really great work. Significantly increased my battery life.
The battery icons change every 20% only because that's what the stock icons do and all you've done it add the number. The Ally DOES report battery change every 1% unlike the droid 1. So if you change the icons and the way that icon is updated, you can get it to work... if you search in the XDA forums for something like, battery percentage notification bar or... battery percentage something... you'll find it... i'm not programming, but someone may figure it out.
Ran into a couple of issues...some of the live wallpapers are crashing the live wallpaper picker, seems to be galaxy, grass, and water are the ones crashing the app. Any ideas?

Sure can! Just gotta find the right images to edit. This will be in 0.2.

Glad to hear it!
You could always be my first PayPal donor if you really wanted. I could put that towards a Red Bull.

I found some type of HTC .apk's that you might be able to port?? I dont know but here is the link: Htc Launcher.Apk - Download
Thanks for the links.
Now the port of the Sense for the Droid 1 was very, very buggy and eventually died off in the development department. Ports are VERY hard to do. We'll see..

Don't know much about it. Will look into it.

my gfs ally doesn't seem to instantly get notified of new gmails when i send them anymore once i installed this seem.. she gets them as soon as i open the gmail app and hit refresh tho... auto sync and background data are on as well as re-activated and tried on wifi and 3g
also the superuser app isn't upgradeable from the market even after deleting the superuser.apk it isnt.

This is very strange! Did both of you wipe your data and cache before installing?
Also - anyone else seeing this issue.

The version of the Superuser.apk included in Velocity 0.1.1 is the most up to date. However, if you really want to install it, try this fix:
Quote:
If install from the market fails, use adb to issue these commands:
$ su
# (remount for your phone, Nexus One is 'mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system', other phones will use the same pattern, but may vary on the '/dev...' bit)
# rm /system/app/Superuser.apk
# pm uninstall com.noshufou.android.su
# (same remount command as above, but with 'remount,ro' instead of 'remount,rw')
After that, you'll be able to install Superuser from the market.
i've flashed the rom twice now and wiped data and cache on her phone each time.. still seems to be the same way.. rom itself makes the phone seem useable compared to my droid
edit: just confirmed again she only gets gmail when i manually hit refresh
