Thanks again Devs for all of the hard work!
We recommend smartass. It is by far the best.

I really want to do this but Im scared. and it seems like a bad idea if there are things I know I need that are missing.
Yes, Gallery and Think Free Office are both included.
Trident, Savoxis, Getitnowmarketing....THANK YOU! I can overclock to 768 now instead of 748, quadrant at 600 930's, at 768 987! 9.29 mflops at 768! Trident, how did you get to 1000 at 600??? Anyway, you guys ROCK!!!!
if this is a double post im sorry. but is the tethering truly free on the velocity 1.0 rom? dont wanna try and get charged just need some info. thanx. keep up the awsome job.
One quick question...what kind of battery life should I expect? I've only had it installed since about 1 this afternoon, just curious how the life seems to you 3 that developed it. I'm assuming you've been using it for a little while at least, so you'd have the info. Thanks again guys! This rom is awesome!

I'm pretty sure its not gonna charge you. Don't think they would lie about that or be mistaken. I was using on on velocity 3 and 4 and never saw extra charges.
Also my google maps keeps force closing, can't used it. Wiped dalvik cache and cache with no improvement. But everything else is on point. Any help??

All of my testers received the same scores as me as well. I can also top 1400 at 600Mhz.

* Wired Tether & Wireless Tether (built from source with extensive changes required for LG)
-- Support was added for AP (infastructure mode) so now devices like Android phones & Archos can connect that couldn't in previously in Ad-Hoc mode.
-- A magic Samsung FW was also found that was needed for this.
-- These apps are free to use and not trackable to carrier tethering plans and caps so tether away.

Honestly not sure as the Ally is not my primary device.

Uninstall it and reinstall it from the Market.

Script Update v13
Included check to see if you have a connection to the OTA server, if not the script will still run, but all online features will be disabled
Added script to resolve IP for update server (since its dynamic and we have to use IP for OTA scripts)
Added boot animations
To download just make sure you are online (3g or WiFi) open the script by invoking velocity in a rooted terminal, and select options 4 and 1, the script will update itself
Please not the boot animations and fonts I included I didnt do much QA on, they all work but some might be sized wrong, I am very much open to suggestions for anything invloving the script, especially cosmetic features
I mean.... wow. Guys, this is amazing. I don't have words that can really express how awesome this rom is. I ran stock, unrooted froyo for a few days after it came out, and after living through that, I can honestly say my phone would be nothing but a piece of junk if it weren't for you all. This rom turned my ally into pure, unadulterated, awesome.
And everything I've seen is working perfectly. You guys rock. As soon as I get my paypal account reactivated, will be donating.
Thanks again guys, I felt a donation was absolutely necessary, so I did.
Also, I found a bug, not sure if anybody else has noticed this. When moving apps2sd with the android built-in app manager, it seems as though about 90% of the time you try to move an app the the SD card it will fail. When you try a second time, it works fine, very strange. The other 10% of the time, it works flawlessly the first time you try to move apps to the SD card.
I've been a huge fan of the Velocity series roms since getting my Ally and this one definitely doesn't disappoint. Everything is super-smooth and the scripts make it easy to make changes. I've been running at 748 since flashing and, according to the scores from Quadrant, passed the Galaxy S phones. I am loving this so far.
nothing short of orgasmic. super kudos to all that worked on this this is the ultimate rom! by far the best i have ever seen. period i didnt even think the ally was capable of speeds like this! wow. just wow. this made my day.
Darktremors app2sd script works very fast on Velocity 1.0. Just as fast as a fresh Velocity 1.0 install. Instead of 30mb left you will now have 300mb left.
Now go to adb and type su
then /system/bin/a2sd install
Partition your SD card correctly and always NANDROID.
Beware, if you dont want your $12 Class6 SD card (Newegg) to die in 2 years. Stay away. Other then that it will work flawlessly and you will not have problems.

As always you guys are amazing thank you very much for your hard work.

Woops. I flashed Luna theme over Velocity before you posted this...Idk what you got when trying, but it works for me. No fc's, nothing missing...de nada. Hell, I even customized the theme with MM zips from droidpirate.com and they work fine.
Trident, Getitnowmarketing, and Savoxis: Thank you guys and anyone else on the Velocity team that I may have missed. The work you do for our phones is outstanding. I know I don't have the time or patience to do any of what you do myself and I am extremely grateful. I'm glad we didn't lose you Trident. The Ally may not be a high end phone from LG, but your dev work brings it there. Thanks again for all you do. We all waited a long time for Froyo and the prospects of Froyo-based roms. It's amazing how quick Velocity 1.0 came out. Again, awesome job guys. When I get my money I will be making a donation to you guys.
Seriously though. Please please please with a cherry on top bring this to the Optimus M.

I installed this with the SuperOneClick root method and using ROM Manager to flash RA. Went flawlessly. The ROM is smooth as silk. Many thanks to the development team.
For shits and giggles I selected the "odex" option in the scripts. Now my market FCs and I can't download anything. Not a big deal, I have a nandroid, but am curious if this is a known issue.

Quadrant Standard is failing when I try to run it. I've tried clearing cache and Dalvik Cache, and I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice now. The tests do not all run and after the Benchmark Result screen comes up and I click "Yes", I get the error "Service call failed." It then force closes.

It's not a velocity thing, it's a froyo bug. Mine was doing that before I installed velocity. I used "move to sd" and i did the same thing. At least it still works!
what are you doing to get such high quadrants? at 806 CPU i barely break 1000. im curious to see what other tweaks can be done to the phone? or is it just the phone. past 844 it reboots when i attempt to run quads. is there anything to be done to increase these numbers? i leave it at 806 cpu and it runs perfect. love the rom just curious about quad numbers. thanks
So what were to happen if one flashed the recovery.img from the rom to a 2.1 ally. There must be a simple way to upgrade the phone. Can't a script be formed in the rom to allow the recovery to wipe the phone then install 2.2 from 2.1? I'm sticking to 2.1 for now since its stable velocity 0.4 altho id love to upgrade once there's a stable way of doen so.

Doing so replaced the entire framework-res.apk, and in doing so you lost your reboot/recovery option when holding the power button and any other improvments made to the framework.

Quadrant 1099 - OC 787 smartass stable
Done. 3 hours and 21 minutes from Velocity v.04 on 2.1 to Velocity 1.0 on 2.2.1 and all I can say is it was worth every excruciating minute. Quadrant score on stock ALLY was 424. With Velocity v.04 on 2.1 it was around 520 reliably overclocked to 768 (any higher was KP). With Velocity v.1 on 2.21 overclocked to 787 smartass governor (that seems stable) the Quadrant score is 1099. But the overall phone experience is much more Droid X than Ally now. I figure the Dev's saved me $500 for having to buy a phone. I will be donating accordingly. However, I do want to thank Trident, Getitnowmarketing and Savoxis for doing this ROM - but more importantly, Trident...THANK YOU for saving me by allowing me to disable OTA in v.04 and NOT moving to FROYO on the OTA - from what I have heard and actually seen on friend's ALLY's it is a disaster. My first post, have lurked for a while - sorry for the long post.

Reason: new data
I just discovered what "tethering" is and I am pumped about this feature! This is completely free of data charges?!?!?!? I guess some things in life are free. I'm wireless tethering right now, just to try it out. AWESOME
Is there a way to automatically mount/unmount the SD card when plugging in to the computer? I'm too lazy to have to manually mount every time!
AWESOME ROM!!! I'm able to OC to 825 stable and get a quadrant score of 1250
Thank you Trident, GNM, Savoxis!
None that I'm aware of and I've looked all through the related android source code as I had to rebuild the part that mounts your sd card for the new kernel's drivers.

Just started playing with the scripts.... very awesome. I know more are coming, very excited. I really like the Velocity boot stuff. I dig the font editor script very nice touch. I love the GB theming, it has the look I've been trying to create on y own for awhile, finally have the white text on the black background. Works great with my own apps. I've been using the Go Launcher Ex, and it's quick. So far I have no (that is none) issues. KP's above 806 (whatever that's fast enough). I can stable run at 768, get quadrants higher than Droid x. I like running at 600, better on the battery and smooth as glass (quadrants at about 1024).
Again I say to you gentlemen, bravo. You have made my phone what i wanted it to be. Thank you.
