i know that you can throw in apps to change the stock lock screen, but i havent tinkered with the lock screen yet in my rom, so im not sure if it can be replaced. i dont remember if the lock screen is a system app or if its built into the framework. i wanna say the framework. u can rip apart the framework and check. u could always theme a new lock screen urself if u wanna tackle a task like that! ;-) as for the launcher, if i remember right, i just deleted the stock launcher and renamed the custom launcher to the name of the stock launcher, and it worked just fine.

You don't need to delete anything with the launchers, just install another and hit the home button, it should ask which you want to use.

As for lockscreen, there is Widget locker and at least one other. Beware though, some can interfere with multi-touch on some phones. I'm not sure if it still does, but Widget locker would interfere with multi-touch on the Evo v.

I dont think u understood Leslie... I wanna replace the Launcher in a rom [system/app] so I was asking if the replacement HAD to be named Launcher2.

As for lockscreen, I think u misunderstood aswell... Im wondering if if possible to completely remove the stock lockscreen (the one that COMES with the phone) & putting something else like Go Locker in its place so u NEVER have to see the other default one that appears over GO Locker every now & then

there is a setting in "widget locker" to fix that problem, it uses root to disable the stock lock-screen, which in turn disables the lock-screen pass-code function. maybe go locker has this to?

i only see my stock one when i have to force reboot my phone. and that's rare now a days

It does not have to be renamed.
Beware though, it may not run properly from system/apps. Some apps are only meant only to run from data/apps.

I would try doing a wipe thru cwm, and either reflash the harmonia rom for the OV in the OV forum, and/or flash a different rom built for the OV, if that doesnt work.

I may be wrong but if you bought it with a custom ROM (like Harmonia) installed you may have a hard time activating it to your account. That may be why the mobile network is not working. Are you able to make calls and send texts? If not, you may have to restore back to stock to activate before reflashing Harmonia because I believe you can only provision (activate) a device on stock. Maybe the Venture is different. I've never owned one.

Also, congratulations on the first post in this thread in over a year, ApeFresh

Luckily there's still helpful people like Dracable around. I also pop into this forum from time to time to check on everything. There's a friendly bunch in this device section.

Haha! Thanks TheBritton! I like to keep an eye out here to help out, even tho the Venture is no longer my primary phone. It will always hold a place in my heart as my first Android device though! :-) But ya, i believe i HAVE activated the Venture on a custom rom before, but cant remember if i did it manually, or thru the Activation app.
