Default Back To 4.0.2 Radios For Me

I have tried all the radios and perhaps had placebo effects thinking I was getting better hand-offs and such but my testing environment was by far less than controlled eh?

However now that I have 4G in my home area and being on 4.0.4 radios I have been seeing bad habits when toggling from LTE to 3G.

If I toggled LTE off I lost data. Sometimes toggling it in and out would work, sometimes I would have to reboot. I tried waiting it out for 30 minutes also but no go. One consistency was it never went smoothly.
Going from 3G to LTE works fine but backing out is where the hardships take place - for my device anyway.

I flashed 4.0.3 radios with no improvements.

I flashed 4.0.2 and its all good now, go figure.

I went back to 4.0.2 radio as well. It is the most consistent, but not the strongest.

Agreed, tried them all and now back to 2. For me on 4 was in the middle of calls and the headset would all of a sudden go harsh static for no reason. Happened multiple times. I also seemed to have the issue where audio out cuts out for no reason and have to end call to get it back.

Think I will wait and see what comes next....

It's so interesting to see all the variety with each phone.

.4 radios do give me a better signal at my home by almost 10dbm that is huge or at least it is if the calibration and reporting signal meter is accurate who knows.

What happened for me on the .4 radio was I would drop 4G signals where I was used to getting 4G with the .2 radio. Now that bugged me

I'd rather have a more consistent signal albeit weak at my house, then stronger home signal, but 3G in areas where I used to get 4G. I've been "spoilt" by the speedz of the GGGG's

Default Well, the Saga Continues

Well, I am still out on the matter. I think I have an answer but will not pass judgment yet...... I am in a dizzy spin at the moment

I know I posted things were better on the 4.0.2 radios but after some time issues have again returned.

EDIT! So Embarrassed. I called tech support today and that said no issues were goingon in my area and I posted my woes here. I was in Apple-Bees today at the bar and a Verizon store gent was at the bar. I purchased my OG from him way back. After speaking with him there was mega tweaking going on in te area and he said check again after 3:30PM (quitting time).

All is well. I am back on Lean kernel 2.4.0, tried all the radios, all is well. He gave me his card and told me to check with him anytime.

I've gone from the .2 to the .4 back to the .2 and back to the .4 again.

I can't make up my mind with the benefit tradeoffs of each.

I'm sticking with the .4 for now because the hand-off when toggling wi-fi is vastly improved, and in all honesty - the network cutouts for me from switching from 4g to 3g have been negligible for the most part.

I hear you. I am in a spin because I was trouble shooting flashing nandroids, kernels, and radios, while Verizon is still dialing in the 4G in this area.

And my guess is they still will be, off & on, all over the country for a time to come so I will be a little slower to jump in from now on.

I am back on the 4.0.4 radios also. The hand off seems better but I have some salt on it. :-)

I hope you bought him a beer (at first I typed "bear" which is a bit too much).

I have a friend in Alpharetta that I may be visiting this weekend. Would love to get a beer (or bear) with you possibly.

24/7? Ouch, I hope you get paid to be on call.

Will do if I head up. He's just getting back from a trip from NYC (the lucky bastard) so I don't know if he'll be up for any company.

Too late. Damage is done. Half the internet has gone back to 4.0.2 because of you.
