Default [ROM]JDX (formerly Jelly Belly) AOSP+ - v15.2 (9/5)

Read before flashing

- Flash at own risk
- Ask questions if you're unsure of anything
- Make a nandroid of your ROM, and backup your sdcard to your PC.
- Please read everything including links thoroughly to avoid confusion.
- I use TWRP Recovery, not through ROM Manager.
- Most important, have fun!

I'm just a messenger, always have been always will be. Thank these guys in the links below for all the work and time they put into making our phones so much fun If you get stuck on the "Google" logo screen (ya know before the boot animation pops up) give it time and please don't immediately pull the battery.

Instructions:I like to do a complete wipe. Follow the link to the ROM and see what the developer recommends. I also like to wipe manually aka not with Rom Manager. A full wipe in CWM/TWRP is wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, format system, and wipe dalvik cache. I also do this before restoring a backup.

Rom, Mods, Kernels, LINKS:

JB Rom:
- JDX v15. 2 - requires separate gapps flash.

Make sure your web search settings are enabled in Google (this was my biggest set back)
Search for your team, weather, anything along those lines and then close out of Now and then hit refresh...
If that doesn't work open up Google Now and find the 3 buttons on the side and find the category u want and make sure it is ON
If it is ON but still not working, turn it OFF and then back out of Now and then go back in and turn it back ON
Try searching again and it should show up now

- Everything JB Guide

- JB Live Wall Paper

- Flashable bootloaders & more

A full wipe is dev recommended not required. Flash the rom and immediately flash the latest gapps then reboot.

Wow, that was really fast! Im gonna wait for the AOSP one though... Reading through the RW thread, not willing to make those sacrifices to signal strength, etc.

Haha, what a difference 15 minutes makes... downloading now.

Too late to think of this (I'm on the boot screen) but I hope I don't lose root!

Edit: I didn't lose root.

And

OMG do I love Jelly Bean!!! I actually <gasp> might stick with this until AOKP gets it up and running. It is FAST. It is SMOOTH. It is POLISHED. I love it!

I cannot for the life of me get this to finish downloading, something about 4G it just fails every time. I have gotten as far as 67%, and then out of nowhere, it fails.

Lots of misinformed people spread misinformation.

It takes a lot to blow me away. JB has blown me away. Go load the wallpaper thread and scroll it. It is perfectly smooth even with all the graphics.

I was reading the rootzwiki thread and couldn't find whether or not 4G is working. Can someone confirm this or is is it still only 3g?

Thanks!

4g all the way!

Everything is working flawlessly. I used the stock launcher for about an hour then switched back to Nova.

I have been playing with it solidly for the last 2.5 hours and I'm flat out floored. If there are any bugs I haven't found them. 10.92 mbps down, 9.07 mbps up, which is typical for my area. The web scrolls smoother than my desktop. LOL.

Honestly, I anticipated installing this, saying "Oh that's cool but I'll wait for the AOSP." No way. You can pry my jelly bean from my cold dead hands

The ONLY thing I miss from AOKP B40 is the ability to remove the nav buttons. But, that will come soon enough.

Ugh.. I just flashed Liquid 1.5 and saw this. I guess I'll be trying this out. I'm going to miss my fast-charge and notification bar toggles/switches if I flash this . I must try it though because I want to see what all you all are raving about .

Devs can't work fast enough! Lol, will there be any customized ROMs on JB soon?

Trust us this is a huge upgrade over ICS in the performance and new feature arenas. Yes there will be customized ROMs soon. I'd give it about 2 weeks.

Pft, deleted last night's download and redownloading, haven't had a chance to flash, what with sleeping and all

Question for those already running it, have you noticed any app compatibility issues?

Great, I just switched to Liquid's for the 4G and my only complaint is the low wifi signal.

Hopefully they make a flashable patch, just got the phone set up again.

There's so much excitement in the air. I'm partially confused myself, but I'm trying out the one in post #3. Creating a Nandroid and then flashing from there. Can't wait. Do you NEED the franco kernel with this?

Gotta be kidding me, dude!

Did you miss the Keynote? This is just as big, if not bigger, than when ICS was released. A lot of under the hood and software improvements, Google Now, new camera app, better voice recognition, etc.

I'm a little disappointed, or maybe I'm misunderstanding how the Google Now functionality works. I just went to Sheetz for lunch (for those not in the area, a gas station/convenience store/sandwich shop in PA). I sort of expected my phone to recognize that I was there and launch some card telling me about the menu or whatever. I got nuttin. I even went to the main Now page and hit refresh. I just have the "Cards show up here when you need them" card and my weather card.

Edit: I just checked settings and "Nearby Places" was off. DOH!

I and many others feel the same way as VoidedSaint does. Like Voided said, "Visually" it looks just like ICS. Yeah they added some new software features but I personally think most of the upgrades are behind the scene upgrades for performance and efficiency, which i think needed it.

I think Voided is asking for screenshots that may show if any settings have changed compared to iCS. Like when you scroll through settings on the phone if you notice anything different within those posting a screenshot would help some of us understand it better.

Also some screen shots of the camera app in the ways the UI may have changed is interesting to me. Thanks

For those thinking of trying this...this isn't just a test rom that is incomplete and glitchy. It's the best software I've put on the GN hands down. If you want to see screen shots I'll be glad to post some later, but in the meantime do a search as there are a plethora of ss's and videos pouring in about JB every second.

I agree with JB, this is a stock release quality ROM. And it's soon fast.

Visually it isn't different than ICS. I'm still trying to figure out everything that's new myself, but you can FEEL the difference. Project Butter was a success. Transitions, animations, and performance are butter smooth.

Going to flash this shortly. What kernel are you running? Ive been on Trinity, but will flash something else in case that does not work with this rom.

Thanks man.

Wow really? I think, in the details, it's very different visually. Different transitions, different fonts (not throughout as Roboto is still abundant), different pull down, different lockscreen graphics, different wallpapers (cool btw ), different apps, live walls run great FINALLY!, new gestures (hold your home button), new navbar softkey that points downward, I can go on
