I'm on CleanROM and love it. It's just as Samsung intended the Note 2 to be without all of the crappy Verizon modifications. I'm still on 3.5, 4.0.5 is the newest now, so I might update just to update. Though I'm having no issues really at all on 3.5. ROM manager is about dead to me because there's not many good ROMs available on it, or many ROMs period nowadays. So of course I just checked and it's not available on there, but you can get it at that link I provided.
I doubt there will be many more replies on here though. Somehow this sub-forum is almost dead . (now watch everyone post just because I said that )

I'm also using Jelly Beans Build 6. I started with CleanROM and then decided to try something else to compare it to so I installed JB Build 6. I have to say I honestly like Beans better. It runs smoother, and integrates withe VZW features well. You can check it out here

Stuck in a rutt with Sammy
I've been through about everyone out there including Beans 6 and CleanRom (1.0 "The VZW special" & the latest v4). Beans is definitely smoother, but overall build quality has to go to Clean. I appreciate that Beans has more setup options in Aroma, esp. The Perseus 31 kernel, but I think it forces you to then go straight down one path or the other based on your kernel choice.
On another note (no pun intended), since starting my adventure in Note Rooting, neither my Bluetooth ear pieces or Wi-Fi tethering has worked at all. Let me correct my self. My Note usually recognizes the Bt devices, but it won't pair/connect to any of them. I have a Jawbone ICON HD, Playtronics Marquee 165, and a pair of Motorola S 10-HD Headphones. All of which worked perfectly with the stock phone.
Lastly, after all the hype over the switching of your int sd with your ext sd, I purchased a SanDisk Ultra micro SDXC Class10 card. Adding insult to injury, it will not mount in CWM recovery. I can do what ever I want with it in my file explorers once the phone has booted, but to flash anything, I have to go back to my 8gb cards.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Sincerely,
Steve-O
P.S. The 8gbs are fat 32 and the 64gb is exfat as per the format instructions from the original dev's thread.

I use a Plantronics 590 and a Jaybird SB2 daily with my Note 2 and I havent had any problems. Also I use a 64gb class 10 exfat card without any problems in recovery BUT I use TWRP exclusively.

I'm still on Stock 4.1.1 and unable to install a custom ROM. Everytime I try to install a new bootloader, my phone pukes and I have to Odin the Stock ROM image back to the phone to fix it. What method did you guys (and gals) use to root your VZW Note 2? I installed a pre-rooted stock image via Oden but am unable to install a custom rom because my bootloader is still locked...

I tried to use the "How to" over on XDA-devs in the GN2 section, but it didnt work for me and it didnt flow for me to easily understand it. Then I checked out the section on unlocking your boot loader by AdamOutler and the first step is rooting. So I ODIN back to stock and then followed his steps one-by-one and within a half hour I was rooted, my boot loader was unlocked, and TWRP recovery was working great to flash the Beans rom I wanted. Here is the link if you want to try it.

So if I install CleanROM or Beans will I lose all the features that I currently have with Samsung TouchWiz like double tapping on the top of the phone to scroll to the top of the list or just raising the phone to my ear to automatically make a call to the contact on screen?

No. If you install CleanRom or Beans they include all the TouchWiz features because they are based on TouchWiz. If you install Paranoid Android or AOKP you will lose all TouchWiz features including use of the S-pen.

Well, I've been on the latest Beans for a few days and my phone is experiencing a few problems: Copy and Paste from 1 email to another will cause the phone to either lock up or exit email completely. While in "Words With Friends", if someone sends me a message through it, my phone will lock up requiring a battery pull.
These 2 things didn't happen on either stock-rooted, or CleanROM.

Anybody else experience anything like this?
I had 2 lock ups on Beans B7. Once when I was trying to login to my Gvoice, it completely froze and rebooted itself after about 2 minutes. And another when I was just sliding between home screens in Nova. I'm back on CleanRom ACE 4.2.5 now and loving it.

Yep! Just installed CleanROM ACE 4.2.5 today and have had NO problems so far! Like the look and feel of it better. Loving it myself!
I must be really dense; but I downloaded that yesterday and didn't see a method to use it to 'fix' gps. It sees no satelites even if outside for an extended period of time (40+ minutes). I tried manage a-gps state but reset didn't seem to do much.
Is there some other setting I'm looking for to 'fix' gps ?
I installed cleanrom ace 4.2.5 today but have a small problem. I cannot get gps to work ... any luck here ?
That is a somewhat known issue using an international based ROM on Verizon.
What worked for myself and many others was using a Verizon based ROM with gps working before flashing an international based ROM.
Scrosler had that in the OP of one of his ROMs, I'm not sure if it's still there.
He also recommended wiping the sd card just to be sure, but I think that's unnecessary.

I tried to install the verizon-lite version with the modem (both hash were correct) but it enters a boot loop. I'll try agian after the snow storm (doing a system wipe first); i don't really want to have to reinstall everything on my phone. My understanding of what you are saying is I hsould be able to boot scott's verizon-lite (with modem - not 100% sure i have to reflash modem) turn gps on then the phone will magically remember gps working and i can reflash 4.2.5 (or maybe there is a chip with some nvram that is loaded by the verizon version?); anyways i go into a reboot loop without a system wipe and i have to wiat a few days to do the system wipe.
What is a nandroid of beans; you mean restore the original verizon image? I did save that and could restore that (just hate to have to reload my phone from scratch).

Many others did the same thing to get theirs to work, some didn't have to do that, and others did it and it didn't work.
Ok i restored the original verizon image and gps worked (though it is not as fast as my razr); now I am restoring cleanrom 4.2.5; and yea it seems that for now my gps is working. I wonder if it will still work after a power cycle. Lets see.... yea. it still works. Thanks everyone I've gone back and thanked everyone I'm set.

well almost set. I have one last bug:
(do you all have this bug);
With google voice if i set max volume there is no sound when playing back a voicemail. If i set below max there is volume but it is a bit soft.
Is this also a known problem with cleanrom ?

I'm on Jedi ROM right now with the same Google Voice problem. Very annoying.

I'm on ClearROM 4.5 ACE and the only issue I'm having with it is the WiFiTether signal is almost non-existant. I'm in a hotel right now and the WiFi is full signal through the hotel but sloooooooooowwwwwww. When I fire up WiFiTether, if my phone isn't almost TOUCHING my laptop, I have NO signal! Anybody else?
I'm running Tweaked VZW Remix. It's the best rom available.
I've been meaning to update my post here and mention that Tweaked VZW is by far them best ROM I have used on my Galaxy Note 2. Its spectacular and I highly recommend it. Jedi is a close second followed by CleanROM.
I still don't care for beans at all. No offense to the dev, I appreciate what he does but I just don't care for the ROM at all.

Re: Best Custom ROM for Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 2
For me, it has to be Beans for now. Galaxy Nexus was my phone of choice prior to my Note 2 and aosp builds are something I haven't been able to part with quite yet. I enjoy Touch Wiz though. Beans builds give me the best of both... aosp apps and look with some if not most of the utilities of Touch Wiz.

+1 Love this ROM and it's updated VERY frequently, I can't think of ANY functionality it's missing and don't have a single issue with it. (running latest build (10) with the PBJ kernel)

I downloaded Tweaked VZW Remix but it wouldn't install via TWRP. Crapped out immediately. Guess I didn't hold my mouth right or something. Anyone else have an issue? It doesn't have a MD5 code on the download site to check. I would love to try it since I am having a couple of problems with CleanROM ACE 4.5 like Authentication Errors on WiFi and VERY weak signal using ANY wireless device with this phone like Allshare (to my video dongle from Samsung) and using as a mobile hotspot with my laptop. These two things worked fine under CleanROM 4.2.5. I flashed back to that ROM and am still experiencing Authentication Errors with multiple WiFi routers that previously worked great!
Pissing me off!

OK. Update. I downloaded it again and tried installing it again and it worked. I also updated TWRP to the latest version first so I'm not sure if it was an issue with the original download or the version of TWRP I was using was too old (I was on 2.2 and updated to 2.4.?)
Phone appears to be coming up fine now... Just waiting

Well, after getting Tweaked VZW Remix installed and a few tests, I'm happy to report that WiFi is working again and that tethering is working with a STRONG signal again!
I am ALSO noticing that my phone locks up for no apparent reason now though. I'm about ready to switch back to stock even WITH all of Verizon's bloatware. I just need a reliable phone without all the issues. It's getting old...

It seems to have settled down now. Appears to be working right, after multiple battery pulls when locked up. Hasn't locked up in 2 days and counting! It DID fix the wifi issue I was having and wireless tether so I am willing to give it a go for a while.

Just curious as what kernel you prefer/are currently using and do you overclock/undervolt?
Just curious because I prefer Perseus BUT with the newest 33.4 I have had many severe lock ups requiring a battery pull and have had several stuttering boots that never settle and require a reboot.
I just switched back to Perseus 33.1 last night and I have never had a problem with 33.1. I do NOT overclock or tweak the settings. I just run it how its flashed and love it. Battery life is spectacular and init.d SDswap works well with my 64GB exFAT card and that very important to me.

Is there a way to update the modem that's in these things? Perhaps THAT's what is causing me all the problems with wifi and a week signal for anything wireless...
