Default noob: Note 3 w/ safestrap and Jelly Beans rom.

So i have a Verizon Note 3 running safestrap and the Jelly Beans rom, phone has always worked great for the last 4 months or so, well i got my phone knocked out of my hand last weekend and the lcd screen stopped working. After about a week of not using the phone i got my replacement lcd, replaced it and went to power on the phone.. Phone is now stuck in bootloop. I can go into recovery and use the stock which works fine but i was hoping to not loose anything from my other setup. I'm confused what could have changed that is causing it to not boot anymore when i had no issues before the lcd breaking. I also attempted to flash the same rom onto rom slot 2 and see if it would work and the same thing happens, stuck in bootloop... So i've came to the conclusion when safestrap is enabled i get stuck. When disabled the phone boots fine.. any thoughts? Thanks a bunch.

Hi Alex and welcome to Android Forums!

I fail to see where Safestrap is the culprit here, since the stock OS (in the Stock Slot in Safestrap) works. Nor is it the screen, since the Stock OS works. No, I would first suspect whatever ROM it is you're using. It may be using a kernel that your phone just doesn't like.

To isolate this, I would flash a different ROM, like Hyperdrive RLS 7, in Slot 2 and see how it performs. If it works, then it's your Jelly Beans ROM/kernel combination that is to blame. Make sure you have at least a Class 6 microSD card... a UHS card would be better.

Good luck and I hope this helps.

It's great to have you here!
