Synergy is a TW based ROM, not AOSP....so idk if you prefer AOSP or not...

has anything gone official yet?
I'm really excited to run CM10.
I have never run them before so I dont know if the nightly are good to go or if they are just betas with updates every night.
Is it still to early since the news of the unlocked bootloader to have a stable JB ASOP rom?

it seems pretty stable right now...but there are plenty of bugs...and it is quite a ways off from getting an official stable release designation by the CM folks...

I finally got around to installing it, but quick question. I like the Trebuchet launcher they have build in, but I cant for the life of me figure out how to disable the vibrate when pressing the app tray button. Any ideas?

They are betas with updates every night. One night will be great, the next will be terrible, the next night OK, etc etc.

My experience with the latest cm nightly: no NFC, bad battery (although still pretty good), and my notifications aren't expandable or collapsable

I've done the past 3 or 4 nightlies. I like them. Subtle differences between them as far as I can tell right now, but so far the important things are working great for me (radio is ok, battery good, gps lock is fast, nice launcher). I don't think NFC is working, which is a bit of a bummer but not so serious right now. It's getting there, I'll keep loading them, it's a fun distraction.

How are your notifications? I can't expand them on demand

I'm not sure exactly what you mean. When I get a notification and I touch it it brings up the app involved. Should I be able to get the notification to be bigger?

I would actually call them alphas. Beta indicates that the major flux in changes is done and it is nearing RC status. It is no where near that.

Yes. For example with Google music can be dragged down to show a bigger toggle settings.

Edit: you need to use two fingers to expand and collapse items in the notification bar

I'll go ahead an give my review of all the night lies so far, the one released on the 23rd was the last good one. After that, YouTube doesn't work. NFC still doesn't work. So I'm back on the 0823 build.

The unofficial released on the 26th is the best yet. Most stable, no bugs, screen flash gone. Check out the thread at xda, the link to the unofficial (compiled by one of the members there) is on page 89 or so. I've been running it a few hours, so far so good. I don't think NFC works yet.

No, I'm not talking about Invisiblek's build. I'm talking about the official build, but if you check the thread at XDA you'll see that someone compiled an 8/26 version because the devs took Sunday off. Turns out that what he did was pretty darn good, the best yet of those builds. I was on 8/23 because 8/24 & 8/25 had stability issues, but now I'm on the unofficial 8/26. Check here: [OFFICIAL]CM10 Official Nightlies for D2VZW GSIII - Page 90 - xda-developers

D'OH! Now there's an official 8/26 build too. I guess it's time to flash again.

Hello, my name is Grossie and I have a flashing addiction.

make sure you're not taking a step backwards before you do...often the unofficial builds have commits that have not been included in the official builds...the official build might technically be outdated compared to the unofficial...

Let us know how it goes. Who's developing this set of unofficials that you're flashing?

Update: the 8/26 build has video playback working again but still no NFC :/ if the NFC worked I'd be fine.

Running the latest nightly. Having some issues with the phone app.

1. I can't set speed dial/favorites.
2. The speakerphone isn't loud at all. (The speaker works fine with music though)

So far, I like not being on Verizon's mod. I do miss the camera extras though...but it's not a deal breaker.

I can't verify either of those at the moment but I agree with missing the Samsung camera app

The speaker issue was because I apparently got linked to a kang instead of the official nightly. Going to the official nightly fixed the speaker.

Although, the speed dial issue remains. Anyone able to get speed dial working?

Another issue I noticed: the notification LEDs aren't lighting up.

As far as I know, stock Android doesn't have speed dial. It was maybe the only thing I missed when I briefly flashed CM10 on my GS3 that couldn't be attributed to a bug.

you need to check the commits before you download...it tells you everything that is going to be in the build before you even download it...it will tell you if NFC is going to be in...i wouldn't expect it anytime soon

Official 08/27 is out, and NFC is working on mine, after multiple reboots. Google Wallet is working also.

Metfanant: where'd you say I could see a change log for the nighies? I've looked up and down on the cm forums and can't even find a thread for our phones.

You have to go look at the commits to the CM servers...I don't know the link off the top of my head because I don't run CM...

Turns out the just fixed the screen from graying out apparently. I went back to the stock TW rooted and BL unlocked. Was having MMS issues with CleanROM that I don't have on stock.

Gotta love them custom ROMs. I have a screen flicker issue when I pull down the notifications while on the lock screen, can't adjust in call volume and no NFC

Yep, I'll just stick with the rooted/unlocked TouchWiz using Nova for my launcher.
