Default Out of curiosity, I opened Odin...

I'm just not quite ready to root my device but my curiosity got the best of me and I wanted to see what Odin looked like on my phone! So I did the 'three button salute" and poof, there it is! Not connected to my pc, how do I get out of it - pull battery? It's just sitting here and telling me it is "Downloading...Do not turn off target!!"....

Tell me it's ok...

NM - I went ahead and pulled battery. Appears to be fine!

I just do not want to be tired and ready to fall asleep when I start the root process!

Rooting is no big deal; a corollary is logging into Windows as Administrator.

What you went into wasn't ODIN, it was download mode.

ODIN is software that runs on Windows.

Download mode is used to recover by flashing a new ROM via ODIN with a USB cable. This is why you can't brick your phone as its the ultimate recovery.
