Default rooting s4 on verizon

I am getting my s4 sometime this week and I have a couple questions. I have read a lot of forums about rooting and it seems it is somewhat different for each carrier. Is there a walk through that easily explains how to root a new s4 on Verizon? Are there any must have apps that I need to get for the s4? I am coming from an iPhone and a Windows Phone background. I had a Droid X but only for a short while. I was really bored with both platforms and was recommended to go back to Android.

Thanks

Hi there,

I think you should be able to find answers to your questions at the following link:

Since the Verizon model is not the International model, the OP might do better looking at the (Verizon) Galaxy S4 - All Things Root section of the forum.

Whoops, thanks for the correction! I didn't even notice the International distinction on there when I posted it.

Sorry, OP. Didn't mean to steer you in the wrong direction.

if your phone comes with the new firmware, you can use this method to get around it: There is root for vruame7

it's just root for now, no custom recovery
