At least this is something, although nothing to specific regarding the phones specs, but like I said, it's something.
Right now, I'm leaning toward the RAZR HD/Fighter or whatever it ends up being called.
They're still going on what bgr said. Just cause multiple sites are reporting the same rumor doesn't make it more true if they're still using the same source. Either way I'm excited at least someone thinks big red's going to pick up the GS3

Yup, that's very true. I guess I'm just so hungry for news I'm posting every link I can find.
I've been waiting for my next phone since the rumor came out about the Motorola Dinara. (If anybody even remembers that one)
I'd rather have a "mid-tier" phone with an amazing provider than a high-end phone with shit service. Verizon #1
I used to would have agreed with you on this point. However, in recent months, Verizon is doing nothing but squeeze us for more money. No more NE2, $30 upgrade charge in addition to the "discounted" aka we'll rape you for two years on your capped data plan to make up for it so called loyalty price, no more 250 text msg plans for $5 (really pisses me off how much they charge for texts), etc.
Their network while still the best, is showing holes here in OKC. I've started to have reception problems and I think it's due to the fact they sold their soul to get the iPhone and now we have more users cluttering the network.
I'd like to think I'm willing to leave Verizon if this keeps up but I just can't because ATT sucks that bad here and Sprint has no presence unless your within 1 mile of an interstate.

I may be wrong, but having more users doesn't make signal worse, it just makes speeds slower am I right?
Thank god the announcement is almost here! I'm getting tired of all these rumors and speculations. At least in a few days we'll know whats true and not and have some solid information to discuss.
Boy genius has a 5 percent chance of being accurate. Site is garbage in terms of news and rumors.
Yeah.. My dog poops better more reliable news than BGR.. BGR="Bogus Garbage Regurgitated".

Sold DRoid shittyCharge and bought a Razr Maxx to keep my Unlimited Data plan that verizon will kill off the summer of 2012.
I'm itching to dump my pos Droid X but I want to wait if something big is coming down the line. I read reviews of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Motorola Razr Maxx. A friend has the Maxx and really likes it, though he reports issues with picture quality. The just announced HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE phone sounds promising. Any thoughts?
Not so sure the Maxx is a better phone per se, but it does have its benefits over the Inc 4g. Namely, the battery and screen size and build quality. Spec wise, the Inc beats it IMO with the new lower power consumption S4 chip.
It all depends on if you like Sense or not and are willing to give up the small difference in screen size.
I'm also convinced that Verizon knows it's a mid-tier phone as well hence the *speculated* $149 price. IMO, the Rezound is just as or almost as good and has a bigger screen with better resolution. If I were due an upgrade right now, I'd probably still get the Rezound personally. Especially since it can now be had for $99 or less depending on where you get it.

Since Sprint isn't giving me squat as a "loyal subscriber" why should I be? I'm hoping that Verizon announces a top tier phone soon. I would like a 4.7-5.3 inch phone and I know if I bit on the nexus they would announce the Galaxy Journal the next day. I hate to rename this account, but Verizon gets better signal where I am.

While we expected to see handsets from all of the major manufacturers, there have been some rather conspicuous omissions: Sony, BlackBerry and Motorola informed TechRadar before the start of CTIA 2012 that they will not have a presence at the show.
While that proved to be true for Sony, Motorola it seems was content to let their partners show off their latest devices. Like the Droid Incredible 4G LTE.

So it appears there will be no info regarding the MaxxHD/Fighter from CTIA in New Orleans.

How is Sense different than what I have on my Droid X? I'm not at all familiar with it to know the difference. When I get a chance I'm going to get to a VZW store and compare the phones.
What do you think Verizon's next great phone will be?
Well went to verizon last night and got my wife a 100.00 Razr because her thunderbolt took a crap! Well the lady asked me what phone i had and i told her a Bionic and she said we will give you 115.00 trade in on that which would make a razr free for me now, if i sign a two year contract! I thought about it but I was just not willing to do that for a phone in my opinion that is not much diffrent then my Bionic. So my question is has anyone heard of what is coming up soon for new phones for verizon? thanks

Oh, where have you seen pricing on the Inc 4G? I thought it was just announced.
Only two phones I know of are the Incredible LTE and possibly the Galaxy S3. The latter, I'm very skeptical about coming to VZW. The Incr LTE looks okay, but not as slick as the One X. The Bionic is still a fine phone and not one I would dump anytime soon. My wife's is still going plenty strong.

VZW is really falling behind on their phones, in my opinion. The Rezound, Gnex, & RAZR are still top of the line, but I would like to see some of the new Sony, LG, and HTC One X phones hit the shelves. But it's unlikely. They are either keeping a tight lid on their new releases or nothing great is in the works. Sux for us.
But, an even trade on the Bionic for a Razr doesn't seem bad to me. The Bionic has gotta be only about 6 months old, so you're not sacrificing much if you extend your contract. (I'm assuming you signed a two year when you got the Bionic...)

Sense is completely different than what we both have on our X's. It's not just a few tweaks, but a heavily integrated skin that replaces all the typical vanilla Android skins. All menus, animations, and widgets are completely different than what normally comes with Android.
Basically, it makes Android a little more "user friendly". Some like it, some don't. You just need to find out what camp your in. My wife has an Inc2 and overall, I like it but it's sometimes frustrating because it's definitely different than what we're used to with Moto Blur.

Oh, where have you seen pricing on the Inc 4G? I thought it was just announced.
No your right. I went back through all the various tech blogs trying to find where I read it was $149 and I couldn't. Just some speculation as such.
Edited post above to indicate speculated.
I will say this however, if it comes in at $299, Verizon has lost their mind. Since when did we as the customer base agree to pay that much for an on-contract phone? This goes for all the phones that come in at that price. The DX was the flagship for a long time on Verizon and it was $199 at release date. I think the whole $299 thing came into play when phones went to 4G LTE. Problem is, for an unlimited plan, I can somewhat see where Verizon is coming from (not that I agree). But with capped plans, they're out of their freaking minds if they think I'm going to pay 1/2 the cost of the phone to lock myself into a two year contract with data caps. That phone over the course of two years is going to cost the user at least $1,020 not including voice usage charges and texts (which is another sham). Figure $299 price for the phone, then add in 24 months at $30/month for data and that is how I came up with my numbers. That's pretty expensive just to be able to use the internet on the go when not connected to wifi. If you were tethering, it would make sense but they charge extra for that even (unless you're rooted). Over the course of two years, you're paying over $2400 when factoring in voice/text/data for that phone. That's a crap ton of money I don't care who you are.
Until people stop doing too, we're going to be stuck with that pricing. Heck, I wouldn't put it past them to raise it to $399 some day when the next "Super Phone to end all phones is released".

Sorry /rant.
Luckily I'm grandfathered on an unlimited plan. The Maxx appears to be the only one priced at $299.99. I'm assuming they justify that with the extended battery life. Still, that seems a high premium to pay.
At this point, I'm so clueless as to what to do... We have an upgrade on Sunday that I can use. I so much want to get rid of my thunder bolt, but really want the Fighter.. looks like info on the Fighter has dried up. If I can get the Maxx for $100 less, and with it getting ICS, I just might have to bite..

What's the Fighter?
I posted a comment on that Droid Life post and someone claims there is a $30 upgrade charge. I don't think I've ever been charged and upgrade charge at VZW. And I'm almost positive Costco doesn't charge anything either.

The $30 charge is a new policy. You'll get tagged with it no matter where you get your new phone.
Most of the "top end" phones are being released by VZW at the $299.99 price tag. The Galaxy Nexus was, the Razr (maybe only the Maxx??), maybe Droid 4? I don't remember all of them but that seems to be VZW's new money making scheme.

Plus a bullcrap $30 upgrade charge on top of that $299.

Verizon passed up the number one best selling Android phone (i.e. the GS2) last year in favor of the GNex which did not sell well. I hope they won't make the same mistake to pass on GS3, or I will be very angry.
If they do, I will seriously consider switching back to AT&T (I was a former Cingular customer).
I am sick of Verizon consistently not getting the latest greatest smart phones.... no Galaxy Note, no HTC One X. Instead, they are trying to sell us all the crappy phones from Motorola and LG. I bet you it is because those 2nd tier manufacturers do not demand as much carrier subsidies and therefore, more profit margin to Verizon. So Verizon does not care about whether they have the latest greatest phones or not as long as they are making more money off the crappy phones.....same principle like used car dealers.

And once again the sentimate "The company wants to make a profit, those bastards" rears it's ugly head.
Now I'm not saying that's what's happening in this particular case, but some people talk about making money (profit) like it's a bad thing. Without profit, companies go out of business. Profit needs to be one of the top priorities when running a company. I know, I had my own business for 25 years, and if I didn't make a profit, my payroll checks would bounce, I couldn't pay my mortgage, and my family didn't eat. All negatives to my way of thinking.
Best of luck to all of us,
Just so you know, I'm waiting for the Maxx HD/Fighter (or whatever it's called) to come to Verizon.

I've had Samsung - no impressed with the Build Quality.
I have an HTC Thunder-Bolt - really good build quality. Not impressed with the radios.
Never any real interest in LG. Trying to hold out for the Droid Fighter.
Yeah, me too. My 20 months on my Droid X was up on March 15th of this year. It's still going strong and it's the best smartphone I've ever had. (only had three though) So, I can wait. Don't want to because I like new toys as much as the next guy but like mom used to say, "Good things come to those who wait."
So, I remain, Patiently/impatiently waiting for the Maxx HD/Droid Fighter,

First - wife got a Maxx - NICE PHONE. If there weren't rumors of the Fighter - I would do that. 20 months is too long to regret my decision of not waiting a few more months. Also - Had a "Q", good phone - wasn't thrilled about WinMO.

Thanks for the link, I hadn't seen that one. Of course nothing we hadn't seen earlier regarding the Fighter but didn't matter to me. I was just happy to be reading something new.
