Default Data Tracking Verizon app gone

I think this app was preinstalled on my RAZR Maxx phone by Verizon. It appeared as a small window that displayed the data usage. If I clicked on it it took me online to My Verizon for more details. But just glancing at it on my home screen told me I have used x GB out of a total of 4GB.

I called Verizon & they seemed somewhat clueless, denying that they removed or updated the app. In my app drawer, there is still the “My Verizon” app which does not show anything when on the home screen other than the red icon with the white image of a person. I must now click on it to go to My Verizon to get information.

Anyone else experience this?

I will also post in the RAZR Maxx forum.

Until I have a resolution, I D/L Onavo Count but, still need to click on it in order to see my usage. At least it does not require me to type in name/pw each time as My Verizon does.

Just add the widget back by long pressing an empty space on your home screens. The option should come up.

Just to clarify.....

When you long press the space where you want the widget, it's under the "android widgets". It shows as "My Verizon Data"

Thanks manderlee, Kool kat2 & dirkbonn!
That was it. Apparently Verizon updated (app &/or widget)a couple days ago causing the widget to disappear. I reloaded the widget & logged in & it is back to working. Amazing that the Verizon tech I spoke with was unable to provide that info.

“We updated it & that is why it is gone from your home screen.”

“It is the Widget “My Verizon Data” & not the app “My Verizon Mobile.”

BTW dirk, great sig line.

I just went through the same thing, thinking vzw had gotten rid of the widget. I didn't know it was a widget and thinking it was the app. Thanks to all.

Mine has never worked!
Just shows connecting on the widget and never shows anything.

Been almost a year now, on two different Dinc2's. Never worked.

When I updated the my Verizon to the newest version the other day. It started up showed the acct. info screen, then with a loading circle showing verifying acct info then instantly force closes.
Tried all kinds of fixes, had to uninstall updates, glad i had the second to latest version backed up on my sd card.

Thanks for posting this solution. My phone updated today and then the widget, what I thought was an app was gone.
