Default Highest 4G LTE Speed

What is the highest speed you've gotten on your 4G device?

The highest I've gotten was 32mb/s down and 16mb/s up. Using the speedtest.net app

EDIT: I've created a speedwave on speedtest.net if you'd like to join it. (http://www.speedtest.net/wave/fb2f5d2379263d67)

You guys are kidding right? I thought 4g was like 6 Mbits per second max. Best I ever get with 3g is 1.5mb.

We aren't, 4G speeds are very comparable to a modern cable Internet connection.

40 Mb down 4G
700 Kb down 3G.

They are IF you're in an area with adequate infrastructure and low network load.

That's why South Dakota 4G is best 4G. Low population density, and brand spankin' new tower equipment. They just added 4G to my college town of 5,000. A breath of fresh air considering you barely got 300 kbps with GOOD signal on 3G.

That's surprising cause Minnesota 4G kinda of sucks. Alot of times I get around 6mbps (both in Duluth and Saint Cloud). Although it's improved alot in the last few months, it's still usually around 15mbps. Granted, that's in all honesty that is plenty of bandwidth, especially for a mobile connection. And I'd much rather have a consistent 15mbps connection on a larger coverage area than 40mbps that only covers the block around the tower.

But all things being equal, I want one of those really fast 4G connections.

I've noticed that in my hometown where I am originally from (Roanoke, VA) has way better 4G speeds and ping than where I am now. I (Wrightsville Beach, NC).

Yeah 15-20 is more typical but you hit 30-40 every so often. Apparently that's better than people in more populated cities get. So I'm not complaining.

Found some interesting info by doing a SpeedTest.

FIOS- 16.6 D, 14.4 U (Desktop)
FIOS - 24.4 D, 14.9 U (Bionic WiFi)
LTE- 21 D, 14 U

Funny how Chrome is faster on my phone than my desktop and my desktop isn't the slowest thing in the world. Could just be the drivers associated to my WiFi need to be updated.

You mean 12.1 down and 6.3 up right?

I don't test alot.. but out of the tests I've done my best is like 26 down and 18 up. I've hit that a few times.

It's hard to say what I average because it totally depends on where I am!

I ended up using the stock browser and set it to desktop mode to run it on my phone. So the other results you see are mine. No idea why it ran the test 4 times though.

EDIT: I like the little badges they put in there.

I hit 51mbs down, it was right by a tower on the outskirts of my town.

Most of the time in town I am around 12mbs down.

Please excuse the re-opening of this old thread but it's pertinent to my question.

When I first got my S3 last year I could get download speeds of 20-30 Mbps. lately I've been lucky to get 5. I understand the network has started to get filled up. I'm just wondering if others are still getting good speeds or not.

The verizon rep says they advertise dl speeds of 2-5 Mbps so I guess I can't complain. It just makes me wonder if we are going to be back to where we were with 3g.

What do they plan to do when they move to using VOIP?

I'm in the metro Washington (DC) area.

Kind of same situation. Was regularly hitting 17-18 am averaging closer to 7-8 now.

I just did a test in my office with my DNA and I got 5.84 download and 0.43 upload. I'm in a poor reception metal building where I get 1-2 bars inside. At home my most recent LTE result was 11.69 download with 8.80 upload on 4-5 bars reception. My home internet from Charter on wifi gave me 17.01 download and 4.90 upload for reference. My old 3G Inc would max out around 1
