Default SMS outage last night?
Around midnight last night I stopped receiving (and apparently sending) texts. I couldn't tell at the time but suddenly everything went through around 3pm today, and everybody received my texts from last night then as well, leading to some hilarious results. I was trying to meet up with some friends and of course today I get all the "Where are you? We're going xxx" texts. Anybody else experience this? Was it just a network outage from too many people trying to text each other in Manhattan on New Years Eve?

No idea if my SMS was out on New Years Eve. Was too busy spending my first New Years Eve in 4 years with my sweetie. I think I would of gotten some seriously dirty looks had I been playing with my phone.

I had this happen about a month ago and posted it here, but nobody could relate. I guess it's a location thing, perhaps.
