Default Virgin Mobile Rumored Devices Thread

Well since the one at Howardforums(it was a pretty fun and accurate thread, the thread was created around the LG Rumour Touch release and was closed around the release of the Evo V 4G) closed down, I decided to make one over here. In this thread you can discuss your opinions on what devices you think might come to VM, discuss rumored devices that are stated to come by 3rd party sources, and discuss which device out of the rumored devices is better(the actual phone) and/or more likely to come.

This is an old rumor, but Virgin is supposed to be getting the iPhone 5. Per Macrumors, there are iPhone 5 model numbers for Virgin Mobile US versions.

I don't think VM will bring over a iPhone 5, I don't think they would get enough profit; maybe in December though. They will either bring, the HTC evo LTE, the Samsung galaxy s3, or a LG device(probably the lg optimus g). Virgin mobile was talking about, playing with all manufactures, last year and we haven't really got a high end LG device in a while. I mean it could be a Motorola, ZTE, or a LG, but a LG is more possible and being that one of Sprint's top major devices last year was the optimus g(the others were HTC evo lte and galaxy s3).

I also think it will be the Evo LTE. The telltale signs would either be when our Evo V is sold ridiculously cheap to clear it out, the LTE is sold cheap to get cleared out, or something like the One comes to Sprint. Two of these are already occurring (Evo V is cheap and One is going to Sprint), so the LTE seems to be the most logical step. Maybe the Samsung Galaxy SIII will come a year after the S2, so after the LTE. I just want to force a year of use of my Evo V and then move to the next Nexus with T-Mobile, whether it's the X phone or the Nexus 5, or whatever.

What MY suspicion is...if VM is planning on 'playing with all manufacturers...'

There will be a ZTE phone coming up, which is hit and miss IMO.

Evo LTE (which I want) by...summers end/holiday season is my guess.

LG Optimus G (Possibly.) We are due to see a new LG Phone soon...Though I'm surprised we got Two HTC's in a row, then two samsung devices in a row...

Galaxy S3/Note2. One of these HAS to come to VM. (Note 2! GOGOGO!)

iPhone 5 (once the 6 comes out. Or 5(insert random letter here.))

That's my input. We'll see how close or far off I am.

Though a CDMA Nexus 4 would be nice for VM :< who knows though.

It don't seem sprint sold a lot of LG Optimus G as they planned(by looking at the dev community of the lg optimus g), so that's another reason to bring over the phone; to get rid of the extras.

Its possible, but not for a while since Sprint is just starting a relationship with windows phones, Sprint Newsroom | Sprint Selects Samsung and HTC for Windows Phone 8 Launch with Truly Unlimited Sprint 4G LTE , we would have to wait for sprint to gain enough profit from it to bring it down to VM to make more profit. Or if it fails big time then, they will probably bring their left overs to VM to make some kind of profit since they wouldnt have met their ideal revenue/profit quota.

Lg Optimus G is having a sale. Two for one by sprint showing theyre trying to get rid of the phone. So sprint might give us the phone to get rid of it faster. We might be getting the optimus g

Except there aren't any available. Radio Shack is advertising them at $99.99 but have none on-line or in the stores... I have been trying to find one for two weeks and the RS sale ends the 16th. They have no answer when asked when they may be in stock at either place.

Best Buy and Target will price match but haven't been able to find any at BB in the store or on-line. Found one Target with one left and got it immediately. None other in the Dallas area which has a LOT of RS, BB and Target stores.

There ought to be a law against advertising something that is not available for purchase.... Actually, think there is one. Should be enforced then!!!

The optimus g is A LOT better(with the exception of a removable battery, and microsd card slot) than the evo LTE and gs3, but the optimus g have a smaller dev community. That makes the decision a lot harder to choose between the 3, if all 3 decided to come. In self defence we did get 3 flagship worthy devices last year around the same time(the evo v, gs2, and the iphone 4s), so it could be possible this year too.

I just cant see the GS3 coming to VM. Wouldn't it cost a lot? LG Optimus G looks like a ok phone and even if it has a low Dev community if it comes to VM some Devs will move and it will grow.

Note/NII is a definite nope not coming to VM, IMO.

The gs2 came to VM and Boost, one year after it's release, so why not the gs3. By the time VM gets the gs3, the gs4 should be released making the significance and the price of the gs3 drop. And the optimus g has better specs than the gs3, and is comparable against the NII.

Lol the Galaxy Victory just got a price drop of $50 for a new price of $249.99. I hope VM plans to step it up with the next phone it gets, preferably an upgrade to its already offered phones.

I would prefer something other than the LG Optimus G, because I will try to the best of my abilities not to buy a phone that doesn't have a microSD card slot.

The LTEvo has the potential of being really cheap as the evo v was 300 after a year on Sprint, and it's almost been a year for the Evo LTE on Sprint.

My GF has the EVO V. She loves that phone.....even though she had to replace it twice lol. Anyway, she's looking to get a new phone for the fall/winter season. I really think VM will get the EVO LTE sometime this year. Maybe sometime around 3rd or 4th quarter. Now if they can get the GS3.....that would be a bonus.

The thing is that the S3 would probably be quite a bit more expensive than the Evo LTE, even though they are comparable phones. Especially since the S3 was the best selling Android phone last year, and the Evo LTE did not sell nearly as well, I think VM will feed off of the want for an S3 and sell it for a much higher price than the Evo LTE. Just my two cents.

Yeah I love how a bunch of you guys made roms for it and tried to improve it even though the hardware of the hardware on the phone was a piece of s***.

My triumph suddenly stopped charging, didn't want to replace it, just returned it even though some people went through like 6 of them... :what:

"just take our the battery then reboot." typical customer service.

And the next typical customer service step is to do a factory reset -- even if doing a factory reset is extremely unlikely to fix the issue (such as a loose USB connector that is keeping the device from charging properly).

That is what happened to me. The phone was made so bad it could no longer charge...

Sprint Press Release:
Quote:
As the proliferation of smartphones continues to grow, Sprint (NYSE:S) Emerging & Wholesale Solutions today introduced the Custom Branded Device Program. Through the program, MVNOs will have greater, and potentially quicker, access to a large selection of completely de-branded marquee Android handsets out of Sprint... Sprint has three devices available for this program – LG Optimus G, LG Mach and Sprint Flash. Several additional devices are expected to be added to the lineup by the end of this month.
I would love to see the optimus G on virgin, if sprint ever gives it to us...

I really doubt that unless they fix their network.

I'm actually pretty happy with tmobile but I never made a thread or said I was leaving. I've always been here.

My Evo 3D/V 4g is nice and all—believe it or not, I'm perfectly satisfied with the 3G service I've been getting from VM out here in West Virginia of all states!—, but the camera on it is very noisy without rooting and gives a hard time when it comes to capturing a decent photo. I can take or leave the LTE, the AMOLED screen, and even the processor, I just want the 8mp, HDR, instant capture goodness of a modern HTC phone.

Sprint has been doing Network Vision in several states, and in the last couple of months they have been working on my area and Puerto Rico. We should have LTE over here before summer (which is when a good LTE phones comes out), though Puerto Rico already finished their LTE. And I'm also moving Georgia, VM have both wimax and LTE in that area.

I'd like to see the HTC One.

I am using a Triumph, the charge port issue is finally getting pretty bad. I can get two new OEM batteries on ebay for $19, I made an external charger.

I'd rather spend the money on a new phone.

You can forget about even thinking of that. That is barely out yet and virgin gets worn out EOL Sprint phones like the evo 3d.
