I just picked up a Vitality on the cheap thanks to the Best Buy sale and figured it would be a fun device to work on since it's pretty powerful for a lower end device.

I'm familiar enough with the Galaxy S devices, so I've got a basis to start from, but there are enough differences to be interesting.

I want to start by making full, flashable stock images, but to ensure I've got it all, it would be useful to have a map of how the raw blocks on Vitality are used.

For example, on a Galaxy S, /dev/block/stl9 is the system partition (factoryfs.rfs). On the Vitality, that is /dev/block/stl 12.

Obviously, I can dump everything, but it would be a save a lot of time if I knew what was needed in advance.

Also, if anyone knows if there is an actual difference between an OPS file and a PIT (or if the PIT files have simple been renamed) it would be appreciated.

Thanks to Shabbypenguin I was able to confirm what I needed. Everything is dumped. Now I just need to verify the dumps and build the ROMs.

Assuming I don't screw up, we'll have a fully stock Cricket ROM available.

Good, been waiting for something for the vitality instead of just the admire. Although the admire roms are working, its still not a vitality and I always have to change things out every time I flash them.

if you are able to pop out a stock rom youll be saving me a lot of work that i am too busy to do.

I will be working on modding the admire roms and bringing them to the vitality(only releasing once i have authors permission of course)

Edit: spent about 5 hours last night finding and editing all the xml and other files manually, would be amazing once you got yours out and i could just compare files between them, so will be a big push for the vitality in general. The admire is getting tons of attention, but it is metropcs specific. currently i am running the metropcs flash and its annoying.

I just need to test one or two more things before I push this. I don't want to push a ROM that's going to end up bricking.

My plan is to release the following:

1) Fully Stock Cricket Vitality ROM which will include everything (modem, bootloader, etc.)
2) Stock Cricket Vitality ROM rooted w/su intact and CWM recovery (no bootloader)

The first will be useful to anyone that has screwed up a device and needs to get back to fully stock. The second will be useful for those just starting out.

ETA (assuming all test goes well) is Saturday.

Anyone willing to test this for me before I push it wide?

Please be willing to:
1) Potentially BRICK your phone
2) Flash multiple ROMS

It would be ideal if I could find someone with a MetroPCS branded Admire as well to verify that the single flash will work for that one.

my phone has metropcs rom on it but is running vitality, ill run it. if it bricks its only like 40$.

so what ever happened to the vitality rom you were making??? I've been waiting for a vitality rom for a long time and I'm sure many others have been too.
