Should be able to port it to 2.3.4 for the admire. CM7 probably wont work, as the phone.apk Im talking about was a rip from a 2.3.4 release.

here it is.

Its actually from the EH29 Leaked Cricket corp flash utility.

Im going to be working on it to see if I can fix the bug (but it worked fine on 2.3.4 -- just not 2.3.6 for some reason).

Hi, I am new here and what you have done looks interesting but I'm not sure its for me. I have an Admire that I ported to Page Plus from Metro. I need access to the network menu to configure it for the Verizon network and not Metro. Will this ROM allow me to configure it for Page+? I hope...

##DATA# will work on this device, if thats what you are meaning.
You can also use APN Shortcut to enter a custom APN, but I doubt if mms would work, being as its ported for Cricket.

Good Luck!

I appreciate your reply, I have tried ##DATA# and get nothing, I wonder if there is a mode I need to be in before trying this.

Hey Spz0,

Can we just do an upgrade with these roms, like wipe the caches and install, or do we need a fresh flash each time?

Hey m8.
I haven't got around to making upgrade zips yet.
You can try what you suggested but I don't think it will work.
Use titanium backup to back your apps and data up then re flash.

Once the rom goes stable, I'll be making upgrade zips along with the full build revisions (unless it's a major update, then you'll have to re flash full)

Cheers m8

Let me know if you run into any issues with the phone.apk. I had to rewrite some code to solve the force close issue, but haven't field tested it extensively.

No issues so far my man. Runs like butta Love the UI tweaks with the holo blue.

One request, small, but nevertheless: The whole ROM looks sweet with the blue hue, can we switch the color in alarms to match? They are green. I know, its a stupid request, but it would fit the rom perfectly. If I get the job Im interviewing for today, Ill make sure I buy you a few beers

Thanks - Joe

Ok, Im getting ready for a stable release (no more Beta), and there are a couple things I want some input on.

Sold on Holo Launcher? I like the look and feel, but I don't like the fact that it tries to push the plus version on me periodically when I wake my phone up.
Any alternative suggestions (VTL, Zeam, Go, etc...)?

Although Im still working on a proper fix for the MMS issue, do y'all mind the fix I currently have? I've tried to make it as painless as possible.

GalleryICS vs. Stock Gallery3D?
Discuss...

Any other changes you would like to see?

Thanks in advance.

Think there's about 150mb free on a fresh install currently - a good increase vs stock . I also use link2sd, which helps, but honestly I haven't run into space issues yet.

But I thought if i have the sd partition for like second partition doesn't the partition have to be ext4, doesn't the rom have to be supported for ext4 or am i mixing up or something.

I think its based on the kernel. Right now I'm using ext2 for link2sd, and its working well. Have about 20 apps installed, an roughly 50 megs free.

I like Holo launcher, despite the annoying message to buy into the plus version... We can always change it if we want something else, really.

The fix for MMS is fine and only takes a second. No issues with it.

Great. Glad to hear. I'll have to work in the clock apk mods in a future release (they are not as simple as I had thought).
I am also running into some random FC's on certain contact.apk actions that need investigating before going stable.
If you punch in a number using phone.apk, and press menu-add contact, then go to save, theres a FC issue. Must have to do with telephone providers from mix n matching my updated phone.apk with the rest of the phone and contact system apks. I'll look into it later -- on my way out for the night.

~Cheers

Holo Launcher is sweet! Haven't tried other alternative launchers.

I went ahead and purchased the Pro version of Holo for $3.99, it adds a few new features which aren't essential but I think are pretty neat. Besides, why not support the devs? =)

Had to make some pretty heavy mods to the OS, but I got the problem solved.
Not sure how much time I'll have tonight, but I'll try to get out an OV-2.3.6-Stable-2.0 release tonight. This will be the last full flash for bug fixes ladies n gents. All other subsequent bug patches will be available in an upgrade flash zip when applicable (as well as the full downloadable rom revision zip).

Cheers!

Issue 3289 - android - Airplane mode should be configureable - Android - An Open Handset Alliance Project - Google Project Hosting

I had a look around on the bluetooth issue. Appears to be pretty common. A possible simple fix is listed near the bottom of the post. I'm on stock so I can't test it.

I flashed your second release over the first without event. There wernt mainy changes though.
Holo launcher notification could be appearing because its installed as a system app and the setting wont write/ stick. I installed it on stock I don't remember it ever asking me and if it did it was only one or two times after installation.

I've written to the holo launcher developer to suggest several improvements. From his responses I don't think youre going to see many more. It was either not possible, too much to implement, already done it (when he hadn't), didn't understand or its in pro or will be in pro. A lot of these suggestions were already in adw. I got the impression he's in it more for the money than the adw developers are. I wouldn't pay for these features if they are free in other launchers and this launcher may only be quicker because it doesn't have those modules built in. Even so I would still keep it for the time being o)

I copied over your eq settings to stock and it seems to work ok.

Ill flash it again when its on ext.4. I also want to see what you did with the notifications window o)

Yuo could try the Meton cm7 fix perhaps? Not sure if it would work, but worth a shot.

Everything seems to work awesomely, except the muve/camera button doesnt seem to initialize the camera. I looked at the mapping and its all there..Maybe something to do with 2.3.6?

Tried it and all it did was turn off my data :/. Oh yeah to add. If metropcs users want to get on the web with 3g you have to do this

1.Go to add shortcuts by touching and holding the home screen until add to home screen pops.
2. Select shortcuts,then activities.
3. Scroll down to com.android.hiddenmenu and touch it.
4.Scroll down slowly until you see browser settings and then choose it.
5.Change the proxy address to wap.metropcs.net and the proxy primary port to 3128

Yeah, they were originally hdpi bars and I converted them to mdpi. That's most likely the reason. I'm planning on drawing up some new ones from scratch, probably in my next update.
Cheers

Exclamation Sound EQ on admire?

Can i flash the eq enhancement zip onto my admire running a custom rom ? It currently runs the "beats" mod . If i remove that first and then flash your zip? Does your zip mess with youtube and the video camera like the "beats" mod does on my admire?

This eq mod removal zip will delete the core beats audio files and restore defaults, but since I have not reworked the EQ flash since the beats installer apk has been released, it will still leave straggler lib files in /system (that shouldnt negatively impact sound, as the core files have been removed).

After the removal, feel free to try my EQ Boost Mod zip. If its not for you, or if you decide you no longer want it, just flash the removal again, and you'r back to stock sound.

Remember to make a backup, and Good Luck!

I was reading into the bluetooth issue and apparantly when airplane mode was first introduced it permently turned off everything when enabled, and put everything that was on, back on, when diabled. Then people wanted an overide so they allowed wifi to be toggled and then for some reason the bluetooth toggling has been an on and off event ever since. Im not sure why because they both use the similar frequencies (and often collide). I guess on a plane theres a need for wifi more than bluetooth but airplane mode is used everywhere not just in an airplane o)

Did you have any luck with the bluetooth checkbox?
Is your name Tim ? o)

Ok thanks , but just to make sure. Flash your eq removal zip to get rid of beats. Then flash your eq boost mod zip ? Will this make my notifications/ringtones louder without messing with nothing else?

That should do it, yes.
Keep in mind that this will not increase your sound as much as beats will.
In the future I'm going to be working with those lib files to see if I can make them more compatible. But as it stands with my rom now (as long as you're running stock kernel with my rom) , beats should not affect hq and hd options, just dsp manager.

Still waiting on an MPCS admire donor phone from anyone who wishes to donate one. That will help me get mms working for you guys (as Im currently working on a fix for Cricket only due to the fact that I dont have a MetroPCS phone to develop on). Until then all I can do is guess a fix. hehe

Thanks for the props.
