Spz0,

In the world of tech, the only stupid question is the one not asked, so I'll ask a couple:

Is the new revision an 'upgrade' or will it set the phone to the OA stock setup? --I ask because my gear is now very customized beyond the OA rom.

Is it a necessary, or just a bit of tweaking to the .12 version?

Not a necessary upgrade by any means. Just some apk updating and final revision number.

Cheers

Good Evening, I have another question. BTW thanks for the previous answer. I have installed this ROM by following the directions and it works beautifully (props to the poster). My question is about my contacts, apps, data etc. - Before installing I did a backup to Titanium Backup and also the backup suggested in the instructions. How do I recover the info that was erased by installing this ROM? Again thanks in advance for any answers.

First off, WOW! Very nice work! I have had my MPCS Admire over a year now, with Admiral Beast, Stock++, Monster 5.3, and a few others. This is the best ROM I've tried on this device, I love it. Thank You!

That being said...I have yet to get MMS working. Everything else is great, sends txt msgs np, but attach a pic & just says "sending" forever, never "sent". I have reflashed a couple times, each time wiping cache & formatting everything before flashing the ROM, then the MMS fix, then rebooting. I've also tried the APN restore a few times, nothin doin...

As I said the ROM itself is beeeautifull. Really. I haven't had any other issues besides MMS. I REALLY wanna keep this ROM, but I gotta have that MMS you know..

Is there anything else I can try before slinking (head low) back to Monster 5.3?? Please help if you can, willing to try whatever...Thanks.

Also..just curious if this has the data governor removed?

the description says:
  • "Data Connectivity Performance Tweaks"
but I'm not sure if it has anything to do with me sending data msgs...

The mms apk must not be taking.
Try extracting the mms apk from the fix zip and overwriting the one in /system/app/. Don't forget to change the permissions to rwrr (0644).
Good luck!

Have no clue. If you're using 5027 and are following the instructions to the letter than it should be installing fine m8. Anyone else have this issue?

Messed up, came from a HTC MyTouch 4G and would always have to wipe cache partition and data so I figured it was the same here. I did this after I made the backup though which is what I also used to do. Anyways, was stuck in a bootloop and overall the ROM just wouldn't load and I'm guessing it's because something I did. So I go to restore and I hadn't placed the SuigintouLain.zip on my sdcard because I figured everything would go fine. Is there anyways for me to put it on my sdcard and flash the zip from recovery mode?

Edit: Just figured out how to put it on from recovery mode. Still may be in trouble though.

EDIT AGAIN: So I was able to restore and get back to how I was before I started messing with this ROM, but I am really excited to try this ROM out, so I rinse and repeat the steps outlined in the instructions and when I go to reboot after flashing the mms fix my phone freezes at the custom boot animation.

Nuttmeg,

How's it going? Are you doing this while the usb is plugged in? I think there's a bug with that.

Mine just went into ramdump mode or something like that. so I tried powering to recovery. which I guess kicked it to boot and now it's running with no problem
I used the OA2.3.20-FINAL-EXT4-900[FINAL]

The phone will occasionally do that, regardless of rom or kernel. This phone likes to barf a lot :-P

Even before i flashed my vitality, the data connection seems to drop on its own. i usually have to toggle airplane mode on then off to make the data work again. Is there any fix for this so i dont have to toggle airplane mode?

No.
Final Release.

You can certainly install it yourself though -- there _is_ init.d support.

Reflash it. Or do what I did, when I ran into that problem I just deleted the programs doing that, restarted the phone then reinstalled the same apps and problem solved

I'm thinking something is conflicting with the kernel. Like some bug that freezes it for a bit. I've had the same problem as well, nothing to do but 'reset' the phone to make it work again. Android devices can be super weird sometimes

This is an amazing piece of work. TY.

I want to tweak it a bit with a custom bootanimation and sound I like though.

Where would I find the sound file for the boot sequence on this rom once installed on the phone?

I have been able to install a custom Doctor Who bootanimation, but adding the sound is running me around a bit.

Ive been playing with this for the last few days and the only time I managed to get the sound to play, it locked up at the loading screen (assume bad build.prop edit).

Can anyone tell me what files that could effect the bootanimation audio may have been changed or deleted in this rom?

I have installed a custom bootanimation, AND I have gotten the sound to play by adding a line in build.prop, but I cant figure out how to get the audio to sync to the animation...

Does anyone have a stock 2.3.6 unrooted backup from before they flashed this rom?

I just formatted my sd card without thinking and lost the backup.

I'd like to go back to unrooted stock to play with these sounds a bit and see if i might be missing something that was/is altered/missing in this rom.

This rom is awesome and i love it as my daily driver. There are three things i would love to see. The first one would be the Spanish charters fixed because all i see are blank spots. The second thing would be a transparent notification bar with the option to swipe notifications away like in cm7. Lastly a sound booster. The one that's up for flashing now does not make this low volume phone any louder. Other than that this rom is BEASTTT!!!!!!! all my friends at school wanted to know how to make their phone like mine

The two issues I have with this rom are:

1. Ive lost all gps

2. It always turns on when charging (cant bump charge)

I can live without #2, but not having gps sucks as its crippling a bunch of my apps - does anyone know a workaround?

There are no known issues with gps.

Have you re-installed the rom?

You could also try flashing the leaked EH29 upgrade utility (located in these subforums), then reflash my rom.

GL!

Default back up

thanks for the helpful information regarding the vitality.....haven't done anything with it yet because I know this sounds stupid but when it comes to telephones and making backups I'm a total scatter brain.....but how to do exactly create a back up of your phone....

Have a look at the "All things Root" sticky at the top of this sub forum.
The samsung Admire is also the same phone, just a different branding, so that forum is also a good asset to learning about your phone.

Why can't we remount via adb on this rom? The build probably has support but I keep getting the operation not permitted error. But definitely a good solid daily driver I finally have it themed to my taste. Here's a couple screenies. Nice work man.

Thats odd, I was always able remount fine.

If you can't use the remount command, use this workaround

Code:
adb shell
su
mount -o remount rw /system
replace /system with whatever partition you wish to mount rw.

Cheers.

Yeah shell commands work fine. It's just adb remount/push and pull. So I'm not sure exactly what's going on. I know its not path or variable related because I have no issues with my One or GNex. So idk.
