Default [ROM] WildChild 3.3

My first custom ROM that I installed on my WFS was WildChild 3.3. It installed beautifully via the instructions in the thread over at XDA-dev, but that's about where I stopped liking it.

I had become accustomed to Sense, and WC3.3 just wasn't as polished - it looks almost amateur, but I could be wrong on that because a.) I'm new to the ROM crowd, and b.) I'm old and resistant to change

The "Personalize" option under settings does nothing but return me to the home screen. I can see nothing in logcat that would cause this.

Code:

Second, the file manager with the file cabinet and stylized "R" icon FC'd every time I tried to use it, so I uninstalled it. I don't remember the name, though.

Ringtone never saves - every time I choose a ringtone, it saves it. It's even still chosen if I double check, and after rebooting. when a call comes in, however, it switches to the "Restore" ringtone.

Contacts aren't saved. I haven't quite tracked down exactly when they're disappearing, but they are. The only contacts that don't get erased are the ones stored on the SIM.

And the final straw happened tonight - I had the stopwatch running in the default desk clock, timing my chicken on the grill. I had Pandora streaming in the background, and I was browsing the Google Play store looking for the app that showed battery drain per app (I never did find it). The phone locked up hard - the screen was still on, but my wireless signal dropped to 0, 0 bars on carrier signal, and no buttons would respond, even after 5 minutes. I had to remove the battery, which isn't easy in an Otterbox case.

I'm switching ROMs tonight. I'm leaning towards RobotoMod, but I just found MIUI, so now I have to choose. Oh boy.

What do you need exactly?
Every custom ROM has been developed by working hard and consumes lot more time, etc... Can't done by everybody!!.....

Don't simply criticize the hard work.... You just try your Stcok ROM rooted with Link2sd, remove blotwares.... If it doesn't fulfill then go for advanced Custom ROMs..... If anything doesn't then create it yourself....

In essence - I need a phone. That's it.

I know the ROMs are a lot of work, and I commend Tigger31337 for his work. I was amiss in my OP for not mentioning the things that worked - superuser worked beautifully, whereas the supersu in the RobotoMod I installed last night doesn't work at all. link2sd worked flawlessly, whereas s2e doesn't work in RM.

I'm going in for back surgery in 5 weeks. I'm going to occupy my 3 months of recovery time with two 'net based college courses and making my own custom ROM, if I can figure out how to do it. I'll share my work, but I'll be up front in stating that it's customized for me - English language only, and other things only pertinent to me and my locale. The purpose will be to minimize my memory footprint, it won't be for everyone.

Thanks senthamil! I've been looking for that. I thought I saw a reference to UOT somewhere, but I couldn't remember where.

the reason you cant use "personalize" is because Tigger replaced the Rosie (sense) launcher with Nemus... flash the "remove nemus - add rosie" add-on in wildchild 2 thread change what you want then revert back

this is all explained in the ORIGINAL thread over at XDA
