Syncing contacts to Gmail

This thread helped me to export my phone contacts that the tranfer data app got via bluetooth off my old phone onto my SD and then onto my GMAIL account.

Ok to save contacts onto the SD card.

Open People
press Menu
Import/export
Export to SD card
Phone

All your phone contacts get export to the SD card as a Vcard.

If you want to upload these to google you then ...

Open People
press Menu
Import/export
Import from SD card...

You get a choice of which account to create under. You choose your gmail account and it will put them all into google.

You will then get duplicates of your contacts. You can choose only to display only the gmail contacts, or you can link the duplicated contacts together.
