Default One Click Root App....

It starts the process and reboots, but if it doesn't install Busybox, downloaded it from the Market and it should confirm the phone has been rooted.

What this does

It is an app you install (currently you must side load it, but it will be on the market once it's had some testing here on XDA), that has a single button that will root your device. Should work on ALL Android devices -- please leave a note if it works or doesn't work on your device.

How safe is this?

Should be 100% safe - nothing on disk is changed besides the root binaries, so if something goes wrong, simply rebooting the device should fix up any and all issues. Let me know if you find any bugs!

Changelog

V1.0.0 : Initial Release
V1.1.0 : Will now open the application settings page if USB debugging is not enabled.

Tried and tested last night on my newly flashed UK generic 2.1. Like I said it reboots but hadn't installed anything, but if you get Busybox from the Market after it will confirm it's been rooted.

Way better than Superoneclick. Took 15 seconds. Once I loaded JIT ver2, I was having all sorts of issues trying to root.

Great Find!

There's a newer version of the app available on Android Market now which allows both root and unroot

Try it and see, and yes, rooting doesn't affect updating.

Yes, but you can easily switch back when they do release it using THIS method.

Do you think its worth it?And does the one click app one you suggested work good and b that i mean what are the chances ill brick my phone?
What version can i upgrade to and whats some key features they give you?

Sorry if its a lot of questions but ive only jailbroken an ipod and thats rather simple except when i started to emerge my self in all the root files.
So i dont know how hard the droid system is.

EDIT:Also once i root it what do i do to upgrade to OS2.1 or does it do it for you?

"Put the extracted firmware in the firmware directory (along with loader.sin)(10 sin files together)"
But in the flashtool folder i dont see a firmware directory.I just want to know were its at.

I just rooted my Spica I5700 with Z4 Root. Worked as advertised. Very easy. However, the stock kernel does't include netfilter, so still no tethering (my main objective). I'm assuming this means I need a new kernel, or is there a way to add the necessary features to make it work?
