i am using ginerxperia v23 and i am loving it.. thanks a lot. i am facing an issue i am not able to multitasking , when i am running one application and try to open the other application the previously opened application closes, that is suppose i am running a audio player application and try to open other application then the audio player application closes, i am not able to run multiple application simultaneously, can u please let me know how can i correct this issue.

if you are starting from stock Eclair 2.1.1 you need to root and install xRecovery first.
then... download GX Rev v3 and use xRecovery to flash.

I'm currently installed GX23 My question is a specific need has install GX V3 Benefit proven by the GX23 or wipe the first two dimensions and proved GX V3
If you are happy with GINGERXPERIA V23 2.3.7 - do not install another custom rom.

I think what you are asking about is the <settings><manage application> and why you cannot move application to SD Card.
Some application cannot be moved and some can.
It depends on the developer's coding.
As a rule of thumb... if you see an app that requires Android 1.6+ chances are it cannot be moved to SD Card. If you see an app that requires Android 2.2+ chances are the app can be moved to SD Card. This is because App2SD function was developed with the release of Froyo 2.2+.

I Can't assign Ringtone to specific contact and i don't want any other Apps to do it ,it's supposed to be built-in the ROM. i tried my best but i can't find anything do it. i installed Ginger Revolution V3, Anyone tell me solution.

If i have any app running, and i switch to another app, the previous app loses the activity in progress... simply put, multi-tasking is not there . i could notice, because the apps take a time to start over again when i return to them, though with the stock eclair, it was not so... i guess bharathkumar used music player as just an example... (gingerxperia v23)
should i use another rom? could you suggest one which utilises all the hardware capabilities of w8 (it is the same as x8, just name rebranded to walkman series), including bluetooth, gps+compass, 3g, camera+video etc....?

Sorry to hear that your phone's custom rom did not work out.
You might want to try PrimeHD
1) Make sure you have Rooted and xRecovery installed on your Xperia X8.
2) Make sure you have new baseband xxxxxxx15 - check <settings><About phone>
If you don't have baseband xxxx015 your phone will end up in a boot loop

is the wifi N support already enabled in the gingerxperia rev v3? the link speed stated on my xperia x8says 65mbps,,,,,,i tried to check the twlan file via notepad on the PC and the 0 values are already changed to 1, so i didnt tweak it anymore. does that mean it already has N-support enabled?
does the Wifi TXpower found in the android market work in the rom v3 ?

problem solved, i just uninstalled the stock calendar and replaced it with a calendar app from google play,

This is a great ROM, just uninstalled GingerDX for this.
BUT, is there any option to disable some of the home screens? I need only one and having 4 empty ones is not desirable.

hi as u said i reflashed baseband and installed v23 but facing same problem and that too its rebooting when data is enabled. if data is disabled there is no issue

same here, no google maps,places and wisepilot; but there is a google play, the prob is when i go to google play and search for google maps app, it cant find it; and when i try to download it via PC, it says not available for your device's country. but when i install the stock eclair 2.1 update 1, it has the built-in google map.

After two whole days of trying to upgrade my phone, from the very beginning learning how to root phone, about xrecovery, following instructions, and resetting my phone back to éclair countless times. I finally managed to install the GingerFast v3 on my phone.
Just when I was about to feel today was not a waste, I find that my wifi cannot connect to my home wifi, it keeps connecting, scanning, disconnecting.......
If there's no solution to this problem, I will have to admit this entire day futile, and reset my phone back to éclair again...I'm about to give this up altogether.

If you wanna try some other rom just do a factory wipe and cache wipe before you install the new custom rom.
Xperiafan has been ban from XDA website for a while now so unable to get the changelog.
When you flash a new custom rom everything is gone (including your apps) unless you can restore from a backup.

Mine too..also..have u notice that..it lags? I Install Gingerxperia revolution v3 it was working fast for a few days..until last night..it started to lag..and it continues..I have no option but to uninstalled it and luckily..I installed GingerXperia V10 and it's damn more faster than GX Revolution v3..

I am guessing you are running Stock Kernel.
If you are happy with Gingerbread you don't have to change.
If you want to run a custom kernel you have to unlock your phone's bootloader and flash a specific custom kernel to run specific custom rom.
