Any way to "up" the battery time with this custom rom? I just went back to vanilla mainly because of the huge battery usage floyo consumes. I'm just gonna wait again for a better revision then. ^_^ It's really great and all, but some buggy functionalities and very short battery times really hurt it.

Sad Do I need to upgrade busybox manually in Floyo 0.15 ROM?

Hello Mr. Gabeyong,
May I ask you one question. Do I need to upgrade busybox manually in Floyo 0.15 ROM? My busybox version is 1.16 ( check with Titanium Backup ).
Thanks you for your valuable posts about our X8. Can I flash X8 with flashtool to get dualtouch like X10?
Please reply back to me. Sorry for my english.
With Thanks.

Hi,

Do not upgrade busybox or you phone will hang.

Dualtouch is not exactly dualtouch it more like one finger pinch gesture.
Yes, if you are using racht's Floyo-0.15 you can go to XDA-Developer's website and download the patch then use xRecovery to update.

cheers

Thanks you very much Mr Gabeyong. I just want to ask you one thing. I have ported CM7 v.54 HACKDROID by racht @ XDA to my X8 by reading your guide. It is awesome and performance is very good. I also want to do gesture pinch zoom by doixanh @ xda. But there is no detailed guide like your post. So if you are free, I respectfully request to write a guide for newbie like me. With thanks ( I mean Instruction for manual installation: of x8 gesture.zip-v 005)

I think racht's CM7 v.54 already incorporates the pinch zoom gestures.
Try it in Google maps app.

cheers
Update: 2 May 2011
Just checked about the pinch zoom. There is currently no update.zip for racht's v.54 ROM - sorry

hi gabeyong!,

first of all i'd like to thank you how wonderful your guide is it helped me a lot as a new xperia x8 user. .yess im a noob and still have a lot of questions in mind i hope you could help me few of my questions

I have install Floyo 2.2.1 followed your guide thoroughly eveything works great! though my SD card is partitioned with FAT32 PRIMARY(6.7GB) and FAT32 EXT2(800MB) . .i wonder what is the FAT32 EXT2 used for? i dont even see it on my root explorer. .
oh and btw whenever i connect my phone to pc. .it couldnt detect my phone sd though the phone says its connected.

what should i do? i can put files on my SD card through my card reader though, ,i can only see the FAT32 PRIMARY(6.7GB) . .
and i see a lot of guides saying put the installer too the root of the sd.

im super noob mr.gabeyong wish you could help me out THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Hi,

If you are using racht's floyo-0.15 there is no need for the 800MB EXT2 partition. Just backup & re-partition your SD card as a single partition, then copy everything back to your SD card

cheers

if your Android Market is working don't need to update. It will update by itself.

if your Android Market is working don't need to update. It will update by itself.
if you can't update try the following:

1) use root explorer go to /system/app <delete> and reinstall Market
2) use <custom update> to reinstall via xRecovery all google apps... link below

Android Google Apps <-- here

cheers

Hi,

racht just updated his Floyo-0.20 ROM and included the latest google apps.

from racht's XDA-Developer's Post:
[update: latest google apps(market,maps,talk..), brightness fix, keymap fix.]

you need to re-flash his Floyo-0.20 ROM

cheers

Default Floyo 0.20 Racht

Hi,
When I load Racht 0.2 Floyo on my X8 I cannot access the Internet through O2, It says Web Page Not available, It works on Wi-Fi but not on 2G or 3G with O2.
However everything else appears to work perfectly. Most Frustrating.
Does any one have any suggestions please?

Hi,

A couple of things to check...

1) go to <settings><wireless & network networks><Access Point Names> check if O2's APN for internet and MMS is present.

e.g. if you are on the Orange you will see -->
Orange UK [APN=orangeinternet]
Orange MMS [APN=orangemms]

If not to add APN --> go to <settings><wireless & network networks><Access Point Names> click the menu button [i.e. the left hardware button on your Xperia X8] and add your O2 network APNs - if you don't know what O2's network APN is then give the network a call and ask.

Did you remember to enable your data networks?
2) go to <settings><wireless & network networks>and select <data enable>

cheers

Hi all
I just wondered if anyone might be able to help me.
I've recently upgraded to floyo v 0. 20. Everything is fine apart from one thing, every time I try to use camera or music I get a message. Android.process.media fail and it forces. Close. The Rom is fantastic apart from this and its ruining it!
can anyone help?
plus when I try radio it plays thru speakers not headset and I can't get my ringtones or notifications to make a sound ? !?

hi..
the new update works fine... ( camera, videorecording etc..)

but it is consuming huge battery.. do i have any alternative to fix it..
using wifi it drains 50% in half an hour...
even in stand by ( with all apps killed) it is poor, drops 50% in 4 hours.

Hi,

Yes, You have to reformat your SD Card to 1 partition (FAT32)
Yes, you have to reinstall all your apps again unless you use titanium backup pro. if yes, just restore your last titanium backup pro image.

cheers

I feel weird asking this since no one else seems to have the same problem. When I go to restore in my xRecovery, it says 'Cannot open directory. No file found.' or something similar. I connect my phone again and the Floyo folder is there, why can't the xRecovery find anything(not even the one I backed up which shows on the computer)?

Yes, you have to reinstall all your apps again unless you use titanium backup pro. if yes, just restore your last titanium backup pro image.

cheers
should i do the update first or reformat my sdcard first? do i need to uninstall my app2sd? i'm asking this because the when i inserted my 8gb sdcard(no partition) my phone just boots up to the se logo only. i suspected it doesnt boot because it can't find the app2sd partition that i had with my old memory card. the phone boots normally when i insert my old sdcard(with fat & ext partition). hope you can answer my questions..

1) Your phone should be Rooted and xRecovery v0.1 installed
2) Format your SD card to FAT32 (1 partition)
3) Copy <floyo-0.2> folder to the sd card
4) <reboot> enter xRecovery <flash> floyo-0.2

cheers

MD5 mismatch means you got an unzip error.
Use Winrar...

repair your phone using PC Companion to Android Eclair 2.1.1.A.0.6
check that your Baseband ending with ...015

I am guessing that you have not rooted your phone successfully.
That's why you are stuck at Hackdroid logo

i think i got no problem with rooting as i can flash to froyo legend 0.5 with no problem with loop boot... yesterday i already flash my baseband using x10flasher and using X8i_2.1.1.A.0.6_Baseband_015 as my firmwares. i've waited around 2 hours to complete the flash but still, the number does't change...
